Finally got it done at Heera Panna in Mumbai. I don't know what the shop owner did but he removed the lock within few minutes and charged 500/-. My cousin had gone there and so it is not possible to say how it was done. But now phone is working fine without any issues. I had tried Odin but it didn't work. Mods, you can close the thread.

Ported two numbers from RGSM & RCDMA to Airtel. Request given on 10/03/2016 at about 7:30PM Received SMS from Airtel about receipt of request and papers on 11/03/2016. Got SMS on 16/03/2016 stating service will be changed on midnight for RGSM. NO info for CDMA. At 11:30PM, both phones were disconnected. Phone verification was done within 5 minutes and it started to work by midnight. The main reason for RGSM porting was pathetic network and no 3G at many places. RCDMA is used by mom and even she had problem when she travels to native place and other villages. Over

If you are using smart phone, then you can also use Reliance Instacare app.. I used it for activating data pack and other services.

Airtel is always good in Delhi and then Vodafone. RGSM is one the worst network. RGSM USP is pricing. Opt for it if economics is the ONLY criteria.

Heart Breaking NEWS for BSNL EVDO Users
csmart replied to Tauji's topic in Other Network / Cellular Providers
Earlier, BSNL was the best and need to pay extra for BSNL SIM. Now nobody is interested in the company. NO support from govt has ruined a very promising company who could have made private TELCOS to run for the money. It would have been money spinner for the govt as well. But private telcos got over it. -

Anyone in Mumbai/Pune used Joister Broadband. They have excellent plans but asking for 6months or 1 year up front payment as per the executive. I called up the company and they informed that it is decided by the sales person own their own. This sounds little fishy. I had asked my neighbour, who is using it for some time. But cannot rely on him. I am in South Mumbai.

On my PC, it is booting from USB, It shows checking data partition and then boots in windows. I faced this on my old laptop. While same worked on my colleague's PC. No idea what is the problem. Many have faced this problem and I doubt if there is a solution for this.

Ported my RCDMA to RGSM. I gave request on 1st Dec, received call from RCOM on 5th and migration was done by 10th. As my travelling has increased, I found many places, either no network or 1x speed. This affected a lot. RGSM because I was looking at good 3g speed in Mumbai and good tariff. But will again change it to other service provider as there is no call conference on RGSM. I got Samsung A5. Actually it was for wife (anniversary gift). But she didn't want to change handset at this moment so I am using it.

Reliance Jio - Pan India 4G / LTE network

Anil and Mukesh Ambani shake hands; intend to share airwaves, offer 4G Source: Economic Times KOLKATA | MUMBAI: The Ambani brothers took a giant step towards operating their telecom businesses together, intimating the telecom department (DoT) about their intention to share airwaves and offer 4G services in 10 key markets from December, people familiar with the matter said. In the first flush, Anil Ambani owned RCom and Reliance Jio, owned by elder brother Mukesh, will launch 4G LTE services using the historical CDMA band of 800-850 MHz in Mumbai, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, UP-East, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Odisha, Assam, Northeast and Jammu & Kashmir, which collectively make up more than 35% of overall pan-India telecom revenues. "With spectrum trading norms also being announced, RCom and Reliance Jio will extend cooperation and 4G LTE offering to all 22 circles soon," one of the people told ET. RCom did not reply to ET's queries on the spectrum sharing pact with Jio, which did not respond to queries. The spectrum sharing and trading pacts signal the increasing cooperation in the telecom space between the two brothers. With such pacts, and with a complete passive infrastructure sharing pact in the bag, which involves sharing towers and optic fibre, RCom and Jio are operating as all but one company. "This overall strategic cooperation and partnership between Reliance Jio and Reliance Communications is a virtual consolidation in the telecom sector," Anil Ambani had recently said at his company's most recent annual meeting. The cooperation would entail maintenance and servicing of infrastructure, common network operating centres, data centres, content and retail outlets, people familiar with the plans said. ET had reported about the expanse of the cooperation between the two companies back in June 2014. The architects of the Jio telecom plans majorly overlap with founding team of Reliance Communications, which was started under the patriarch Dhirubhai Ambani. Subsequently, during the split of the RIL empire in 2006, many members of the founding team joined Mukesh Ambani, who had signed a noncompete agreement in the businesses he ceded to his younger brother. The non-compete agreement was revoked in 2010, the year when Reliance Industries re-entered the telecom space. The pacts now done, one important piece in the plan is RCom's talks to merge Sistema Shyam Teleservices, which is a pureplay CDMA operator, with itself, discussions for which are at an advanced stage and could even close in a couple of months, one of the people said. Sistema, with its 10 million subscribers across nine service areas, has airwaves in the 800MHz band, which are considered ideal for 4G services. The bandwidth that RCom is using for its CDMA and ones that Jio has bought in the 800MHz band are largely continuous. This means that the RCom must free as much of that for the two companies to have a better 4G rollout. That's where the frequencies of Sistema will come in handy," said a person familiar with plans. Reliance Communications has 110 million mobile subscribers, of which 26 million are using CDMA service, and can be shifted to Sistema's airwaves, he added. RCom has 3G (2100 MHz) airwaves in 13 circles, 800 MHz in 19 and 1800 MHz (traditionally used for 2G) in all 22 circles. For the entire combination to work involves more careful stitching up of networks. A person said this has translated into Jio focussing on fewer number of cities for its initial launch likely in December. The company had earlier intended to start in 200 cities, but is now focusing on around 50. But there are challenges and, insiders say, it will still take time for the combine to start working seamlessly. "First, they will need liberalisation approval (for RCom airwaves), then Sistema (merger) approvals will come through, then they need to make the spectrum contiguous, so it could take two years," said an expert. RCom has already applied with DoT to liberalise its old 800 MHz spectrum holdings in eight of the 10 circles that they will share with Jio, which will cost nearly.`2,000 crore. It already has liberalised 800 MHz airwaves in Assam and Northeast. It will shortly apply for liberalising its balance old 800 MHz spectrum holdings in the remaining 12 circles. -

Google Launched two new Nexus Source: CNET The Nexus 5X is one of two brand-new smartphones that come with Google's latest operating system, Android 6.0 Marshmallow. There's the smaller Nexus 5X, a 5.2-inch smartphone made by LG, and the larger Nexus 6P, a larger 5.7-inch smartphone made by Huawei. Even though both of them are constructed by outside companies, they are part of Google's Nexus program -- which means they were designed in conjunction with Google to be a pure Android experience. They'll be the first to get new software updates. They also both work with Google's exciting new Project Fi wireless service, which combines Wi-Fi and cellular signals from multiple carriers (in the United States, T-Mobile and Sprint) to make sure your phone is never without a data connection. Previously, Project Fi was only available on the gigantic Nexus 6. Reliance Jio - Pan India 4G / LTE network
csmart replied to Arun's topic in Reliance Jio 4G LTE (Prepaid & Postpaid)
hahaha... True as per law, RJIO should be penalised but it can be done only by "Man of Steel" and even if someone does, without govt/TRAI/DOT support, nothing will happen. I doubt, if anybody will try to take on Reliance. Other option we can file an RTI application with TRAI/DOT why no action taken or reason for no action for not fulfilling the license terms. -
Is Android OS going Windows OS way for CDMA services?
csmart replied to sandeep07's topic in General Technical Discussion
The modem of these handset are design to work with particular network. CDMA is totally different from GSM so if you are thinking that if GSM can work out of the box then why can't CDMA. It is more related to carriers and handset manufacturer and nothing to do with OS. With new OS updates, there are new security settings and these are region/carrier specific. Diag mode and other settings are not used by even 90% of the users. So manufacturers/carriers are least bothered and if any problem they can visit to service center or service provider. CDMA is dying technology in India. Tata already out and MTS joining with RCCOM. Even RCOM focus is not CDMA. They have stopped registering MEID and they might look at CDMA for data. We have many veteran members just migrated/dumped CDMA after MEID registration was stopped. We were getting excellent handsets at very economical prices compare to GSM handsets. But this move by RCOM wiped out the price benefit and rarely anybody wants to go back to old days of tweaking handsets. Further, RCOM has revised their CDMA top up vouchers prices and they have become expensive. Irrespective of clarity, we also see lot of complain of CDMA network on this forum. -
