TATA Indicom Customer Care unwilling to accept plan change when on roaming
csmart replied to viper_in_blood's topic in Other Network / Cellular Providers
the main problem is the internal structure of the co. there are so many dept and so many individual cc dept that nobody knows who handles what. if you see there are at least 5 different websites for tata indicom. earlier 121 was sole no for complaining. now there are different nos for different items. for example, if you are ADSL, there are 3 nos for complaint. one for new connection, one for static IP and one for other complains. similarly for cell phones. -

Truth Behind SD Card Speed Claimed By Different Companies
csmart replied to abhi.r's topic in General Technical Discussion
transcend's ultra high speed cards and SSDs. Source What is UHS-1? Fastest type of SD cards! For professionals, memory cards are never fast enough. Now we have new options: SDHC UHS-1 and SDXC UHS-1 memory cards. UHS stands for Ultra High Speed. The symbol can be found exclusively on SDXC and SDHC products. UHS-I is the fastest category of card available today with a bus interface speed of up to 104 MB/s, while UHS-II is expected to reach 300 MB/s. SDXC UHS-I and SDHC UHS-I memory cards can achieve best performance when paired with a UHS-I device and are designed to allow consumers to record HD resolution videos, plus perform other simultaneous recording functions. Compared with SDHC Class 10 cards, the next-generation SDHC UHS-1 cards provide much better data transfer performance, as shown in the following graphs: Understanding Symbols The SD Association has announced two new high-speed performance symbols for the fastest SDXC and SDHC devices and memory cards: ★ The UHS-I symbol (a bold capital letter I): for products with bus interface speeds up to 104 MB/s ★ The UHS Speed Class 1 symbol (a number 1 nestled inside a letter U): meaning it supports transfers of at least 10MB/s # SDHC UHS-1 Cards # SDXC UHS-1 Cards To get the full potential of UHS-1 cards…. Does purchasing a SDHC/SDXC UHS-1 card mean you can immediately start enjoying the performance benefits offered by the new standard? The answer is: not necessarily. Unless your card reader supports SDHC/SDXC UHS-1 format, your ultra high speeds card will never reach its ultimate speed potential. Let’s see the following charts. Using a 8GB SDHC UHS-1 memory card with a card reader that supports UHS-1 (right) is obviously faster than using it with the one that doesn’t (left). If you are a laptop user, try to use your SDHC/SDXC UHS-1 card with our RDF1 ExpressCard Reader. It accepts three next-generation card formats: SDHC, SDHC UHS-1, SDXC, and SDXC UHS-1. Thanks to its lightning-fast connectivity, transferring large files like RAW digital images and high-definition videos is much easier than you think! -
HP Reeling Accelerates CEO Succession Crisis Hewlett-Packard Co. (HPQ), weighing the ouster of Chief Executive Officer Leo Apotheker, may struggle to find a new leader who can revive the ailing computer maker after 11 months of strategy shifts and slashed forecasts. Hewlett-Packard’s board plans to consider firing Apotheker, two people familiar with the matter said yesterday. It may appoint former EBay Inc. (EBAY) CEO Meg Whitman, a Hewlett-Packard director, to serve as an interim leader, said one of the people. The stock had plunged 47 percent on his watch as of Sept. 20, the worst performance in the Dow Jones Industrial Average. “It’s not going to be easy,” said Michael Mullaney, who helps manage $9.5 billion, including Hewlett-Packard shares, at Fiduciary Trust in Boston. “They have to go back and redefine what they want to be as a company, go back to the drawing board.” Apotheker’s ouster would leave the board looking for a leader who can do a better job helping Hewlett-Packard weather a personal-computer slump while pushing further into the market for products that deliver computing services over the Web. CEO candidates may also includeTodd Bradley, who runs Hewlett- Packard’s PC unit, and David Donatelli, head of the business in charge of servers, storage and networking, said Jayson Noland, an analyst at Robert W. Baird & Co. in San Francisco. Other possible candidates that would make sense include Gary Moore, chief operating officer of Cisco Systems Inc., or Steve Mills, who runs the software unit at International Business Machines Corp., said Shaw Wu, an analyst at Sterne Agee & Leach Inc. in San Francisco. Board Discussions Hewlett-Packard directors met yesterday in committees and will gather today as a full board, according to a person close to the situation. Directors are concerned about the stock price and its lack of improvement under Apotheker’s leadership, the person said. Some top Hewlett-Packard executives also opposed the acquisition of Autonomy Corp., a deal pushed by Apotheker, according to the person. Hewlett-Packard, based in Palo Alto, California, jumped $1.51, or 6.7 percent, to $23.98 yesterday on the New York Stock Exchange after Bloomberg reported the possible management change. The stock is still down 44 percent since Apotheker, 58, became CEO on Nov. 1, compared with the 1.5 percent decline in the Standard & Poor’s 500 Index. A new CEO would be Hewlett-Packard’s seventh leader since 1999, when Carly Fiorina took over from Lewis Platt. Fiorina departed in 2005 and was replaced on an interim basis by Robert Wayman, until the company named Mark Hurd to the top job. After Hurd resigned, Cathie Lesjaktook the reins temporarily until Apotheker came aboard. PC Options In addition to discussing Apotheker’s future, the board is reconsidering a proposal to spin off the PC business, a person familiar with the matter said. Apotheker, the former CEO of German software maker SAP AG, said the company was exploring options for that unit on Aug. 18. The same day, Hewlett-Packard agreed to buy software maker Autonomy for $10.3 billion. The company also said it was discontinuing products running its WebOS mobile software, including smartphones and tablets -- less than six months after saying it planned to put the operating system on every Hewlett- Packard computer. Shares slumped after the announcements on concerns that Hewlett-Packard was paying too much for the acquisition and the strategic changes showed a lack of deliberation. Corporate Focus With the Autonomy purchase and shift in focus, Apotheker was pursuing a plan to lessen the company’s reliance on lower- margin consumer products and concentrate on more-profitable corporate businesses such as servers, software and network services. Any successor to Apotheker will need to do a better job communicating the company’s vision to shareholders, said Tony Ursillo, an analyst at Loomis Sayles & Co. in Boston, which owns Hewlett-Packard shares. “Leo’s tenure as CEO has been disastrous,” Ursillo said. Under one scenario, the board may appoint Whitman until a permanent candidate emerges, according to a person with knowledge of the board’s thinking. Whitman, 55, has been a Hewlett-Packard director since January, two months after she lost a bid to become governor of California. Before entering politics, Whitman spent 10 years at the helm of EBay, the world’s largest online marketplace, and established a career at consumer-related companies. Whitman’s Consumer Expertise For Hewlett-Packard, which is focusing on selling to businesses, Whitman is probably not the right person for the long-term, said Dana Stalder, a partner at venture capital firm Matrix Partners in Palo Alto, California. “It’s not clear to me that someone who spent 30 years in the consumer space is the right person for an enterprise technology company,” said Stalder, who worked under Whitman for seven years at EBay. “HP is increasingly becoming an enterprise company, given the focus on enterprise software and services.” Sales in Hewlett-Packard’s technology solutions group, which includes services, software and enterprise storage and servers, rose 14 percent in the fiscal third quarter to $15.9 billion. By contrast, revenue in the business that comprises notebooks and PCs fell 3.3 percent to $9.59 billion. Donatelli, executive vice president of the enterprise business, joined Hewlett-Packard in 2009 after 22 years at EMC Corp., the world’s biggest maker of storage computers. Sterne Agee’s Wu, along with Noland from Baird, said Donatelli may be a candidate for the top job. Challenging IBM, Oracle The company needs a leader who can mount a challenge to the biggest providers of technology for corporations, such as IBM, Oracle Corp. and Cisco, Wu said. “They basically need a turnaround specialist,” Wu said. “It’s not going to be an easy role, whoever it is. Autonomy and the PC business -- they’ve got to figure out what to do there because not everyone thinks those are necessarily the right moves.” Bradley, who runs the PC business, said last month that he would like to oversee the unit if it’s spun out as a separate company. Bradley, 52, came to Hewlett-Packard in 2005 from PalmOne Inc., where he spent four years. “I’m very focused on continuing to work with the team of people that have been so successful at making this the largest and most profitable PC company in the world,” Bradley said in an Aug. 23 interview on “Bloomberg West.” As much as anything, Hewlett-Packard has to find an executive who can help the company get past a series of embarrassments that date back to a boardroom spying scandal in 2006 and continued through last year, when former CEO Hurd quit amid sexual-harassment allegations. “It’s been really hard to watch what seems to be a company that’s lost its way,” said Leslie Berlin, project historian of Silicon Valley Archives at Stanford University. “The boardroom fights, the job cuts -- it’s almost unrecognizable from the Hewlett-Packard that was once the star attraction in the Valley.” Source

Joke Of The Day (New Bpl Norms: Rs 39 Enough For Medical Expenditure)
csmart replied to kshah's topic in The Lounge
in way its very calculated and smart move by the govt after considering city02 post.. he has mentioned that in urban, aprrox. 4550 should be BPL limit. this will bring lakhs of people working as peon, office boy, maids etc. under BPL. currently, peon salary in Mumbai ranges from 4 to 7k a month. so govt has to spend more on them. -

hope it brings in the tariff war even for wired broadband. if they are able to replicate the launch of RCOM then wonderful. it should be reasonable and should not try to milk customers. -

apologies. wrong wordings. i meant, if levels are normal and then jumped and cannot brough down with inceased medication, then it can be infection in the body. how would you know whether body is generated glucose or not. how much time one should wait before giving something orally? i've seen what happens when it drops below 60 or 50. further I have consulted 3 renowned doctors of South Mumbai and all had advised it. please explain your basis or source, it can be helpful.

no doubt about toyota engines. be it qualis or any other car. maruti enjoys the loyalty because it has excellent service network. and besies all, it gives entry level cars like 800 or Alto. so first timers buy these cars and enjoy it. and when there is time to upgrade, maruti is natural choice. the other benefit is that maruti provides cars that range from 3L to 10L and satisfies every one.

I agree with ani.. in order to reduce the cost, interiors of Etios is very inferior. you do not feel that it is from Toyota stable. even swift interior was not great but definitely better than Etios. by the way, even Honda is coming out with small hatch back, Brio. no idea whether it will have diesel engine or not.

Simple care for diabetic patient high sugar levels: the fluctuating sugar levels are not at all good. if level shoots up from perosn's "normal values" it means some sort of infection/illness in the body. if it is not controlled, even after increasing insulin doses or medication, it means there is infection in the body. the best is to contact your doc as soon as possible. delay will ensure longer recovery from ailment and complications. this prolbem gets worst when person is also suffering from arthritis. During this period, it is advisable to check sugar levels almost 5 to 6 times a day. this will give broad idea to doctor and it helps in long term. Low diabetes: Symptoms of low diabetes/sugar level (below 70 and worst if its below 50): 1. high perspiration: patient starts perspiring when diabetes goes below required limit. 2. unable to speak properly 3. person may start speaking irrelevant. its like when a person do not what is he saying. 4. blurred vision (very very seldom) 5. be calm and do not panic. most patient will start perspiring profusely. it is advisable to check the sugar level immediately if possible. give sugar immediately in any form. it can be a chocolate, sweet or just sugar. if person is not properly speaking, then dissolve the sugar may be 2-3 spoons in a glass of water and give it. at times, if person in unable to speak properly then chances of biting own tongue increases. also put a spoon in the mouth so that he cannot chew his tongue accidentely. it is very common to happen as person generally looses his control over the body due to lack of sugar. Keep in mind that brain requires sugar to function well. so even if sugar increases for time being, never hesitate to give more sugar when level drops drastically. IF BY ANY CHANCE SUGAR LEVEL DOES NOT INCREASE, RUSH THE PATIENT TO HOSPITAL WITHOUT WASTING ANY TIME. the best way to control diabetes is exercise, proper food habit and monitoring. monitoring not only your food, but also your routine, blood pressure, food and sugar level. 1. monitor your sugar level on daily basis (in initial stage) 2. follow the medication without a miss 3. always get your quarterly glucose level checked (irrespective of what doc say). 4. monitoring your kidney functions and eye functions - these 2 organs get affected most by diabetes. 5. never postpone routine check up or any ailment. consult the doctor immediately 6. Psychiatrist - consult if patient behavior changes after consulting the doctor. there is nothing wrong in it. i've seen in Mumbai, many docs advising the patient to consult psychiatrist. this helps them to cope up with the ailment and live more positively. there are various machines available that can work as "artificial pancreas". these devices pumps insulin in your body continuously and are connected to your 24x7. no hassles and makes life more simpler. they are expensive but are really good. its called "pump" common parlance. ask your doctor whether it is needed or not. my bro is using for almost 4 years now. rule of thumb for diabetes, DO NOT PROLONG DOCTOR VISIT FOR ANY AILMENT. BE IT FEVER or HIT BY A NAIL IN LEG OR ANYTHING. for diabetic patients, healing is always longer. I am not writing to threaten anyone, but to get ready for emergency and to be calm. these are from my personal experience. one of my brothers is diabetic and was hospitalised twice in the past. recently he got major eye infection and we could not find the cause. result, he was given steroids. so you can imagine what wrong it can do and also if you prompt, everything can be avoided or cured on time. Also make sure, your doc is good. he should not be experimenting but providing proper guidance. I am sorry if post is not in proper order.

LPG can be a option. but you do not get LPG everywhere. In Mumbai, LPG stations are very limited while CNG is available almost everywhere. LPG is fitted where your spare tyre resides. you have to keep the spare tyre in boot. the ware and tare of LPG is similar to CNG.
-
@ashoksoft how much did you pay?
-
@amitsonu, better to ask company. now a days companies also install CNG kit. if that is not possible, look out for professional installer. there will be many. before installing, check how feasible it is for your car. In terms of money, expected life of vehicle, pay back period etc. maintenance vary and depends on how it is driven and serviced. merely going by petrol price is not a smart decision. many cars required to be started on petrol in the morning and after few minutes you can switch to gas. it is negligible.

This tab has inbuilt hard disk.. GIT Media Group Inc enters the Tablet market with two-mega storage, developer friendly 10-inch Tablets Many of you are probably saying “Who on earth is GIT Media Group?†I’d probably be in the same position if I didn’t know the guys running the tablet end of this company. GIT have their fingers dipped into many pie’s and not wanting to be outdone by the competition, they decided to get into the hardware game. A few sites have posted this news today and been skeptic about GIT. In fact, GIT (Graphic Imaging Technology) Media Group is not a new company by any means. They are a private company headquartered in Brooklyn, NY and categorized under Microfilming Service Equipment and Supplies. The information I found show the company was established in 1996 and incorporated in New York. Current estimates show this company has an annual revenue of $1 to 2.5 million and employs a staff of approximately 5 to 9. I’m not sure how old this information is, but it gives a little background to GIT and their potential stability entering this market. GIT officially informed the world that they have two new Tablets ready for launch and will start pre-selling these devices starting today on the GIT Web Site. People who pre-order will receive a special bonus in the form of a leather case and wireless Bluetooth keyboard or an extended warranty (total 3 years), both valued at $100. This is a limited time offer and ends 10/15/2011. One BIG bonus, if all things work out as expected, is that GIT is going to try and release the entire source code for these tablets. Obviously there may be some components that may contain proprietary drivers, but they are going to do their best to release everything. Who knows, we might see custom ROMs before the tablets are even hitting the streets! The two tablets are called the Surge and the Pro. Not the most dynamic names I’ve ever heard before, but as long as the tablets live up the specs, who really cares. One incredibly nice adition to these tablets is the inclusion of a 250GB Seagate internal HD. Yes, that’s right, you’ll never have to worry about running out of storage with these devices. Here’s what you get for your money! The pictures we’ve been provided with are the same ones shown on the web site and are renders of the actual product. They say that the Renders can hardly be distinguished form the actual products. Both products are identical in almost everyday except for the processor inside. The Surge features a nVidia Tegra 2 and the Pro features the new Samsung Dual Core Exynos 4210 processor found inside the Samsung Galaxy S II. Which according to recent tests, is the fastest processor to date for any device or tablet currently one the market. The GIT Surge The specifications for the GIT Surge: NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual core 1GHz Processor 10.1″ 16:9 Touch Screen (1280X768) Android OS 3.0 (Honeycomb) 250GB Internal HDD 1GB RAM 2MP Front-facing Camera & 5MP Rear Camera Wi-Fi GPS Bluetooth Built-In Speakers and Microphone 3.5mm Port USB Port, Micro SD, and Mini USB Port The GIT Pro The specifications for the GIT Pro: Samsung dual-core 1GHz Processor 10.1″ 16:9 Touch Screen (1280X768) Android OS 3.0 (Honeycomb) 250GB Internal HDD 1GB RAM 2MP Front-facing Camera & 5MP Rear Camera Wi-Fi GPS Bluetooth Built-In Speakers and Microphone 3.5mm Port USB Port, Micro SD, and Mini USB Port Both tablets are priced at $479.99 according to the web site, which is a pretty good deal considering what’s inside these bad boys. When you think that you currently pay about $399 for a 32GB ASUS Transformer and your getting an additional 218gb worth of storage. On a side note, I have studied the pictures quite extensively and have seen, what appears to be, a mini HDMI port as well. Although it is not mentioned in the specs on the site. There is a possibility that I am incorrect and it is just a micro USB port. Why add a mini USB and a Micro USB side by side though? We will have to wait and see what we can find out about that next time we can get a hold of our friends. For more information, head over to the GIT Media Group Homepage, get your pre-orders in so you can take advantage of the pre-order special and patiently wait. androidspin.com/2011/09/13/git-media-group-inc-enters-the-tablet-market-with-two-mega-storage-developer-friendly-10-inch-tablets/ Sent from my SPH-D700 using Tapatalk

Google Buys 1,023 IBM Patents to Bolster Defense of Android Google Inc. (GOOG) bought 1,023 patents from International Business Machines Corp. (IBM) as the Internet search and advertising company bolsters its strategy of defending against smartphone lawsuits. Transfers recorded by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office’s website yesterday show Google acquired the patents Aug. 17. Jim Prosser, a spokesman for the Mountain View, California- based company, confirmed the transaction today without providing details or financial terms. Chris Andrews, a spokesman for Armonk, New York-based IBM, declined to comment. Google is building an arsenal of patents that the company has said is largely designed to counter a “hostile, organized campaign” by companies including Apple Inc. and Microsoft Corp. against the Android operating system for mobile devices. Google had already acquired 1,030 patents from IBM in a transaction recorded in July, and will obtain more than 17,000 with its $12.5 billion acquisition of Motorola Mobility Holdings Inc. Android is a free, open-source program that relies on some nonproprietary features Google didn’t create and allows outside developers to modify the code. That has left the company and handset makers that use the system vulnerable to lawsuits claiming Android was built on the backs of research done by other technology companies. Android handset makers HTC Corp. (2498), Samsung Electronics Co. and Motorola Mobility have each been targeted in lawsuits by Cupertino, California-based Apple, and Microsoft and Motorola Mobility have exchanged patent-infringement allegations. To help in the fight, Google last month transfered to HTC nine patents it bought in the past year from companies including the former Motorola Inc. and Openwave Systems Inc. Taoyuan, Taiwan-based HTC used those patents last week in a new lawsuit that escalates its patent battle with Apple. The IBM sale was previously reported by the SEO by the Sea blog. Source
