  4. i agree that cities in India are not safe. but at the same time, everybody takes some or other way of protecting themselves. for water, you haver water purifier in home, you dont keep your house tardy. one of the reason for dirt in cities are we, citizens. we keep our house/office clean and in the process dump everything on road. you do not spit in your house but you do on roads. similarly, govt. is educating people on rail tracks crossing. but then we do not want to listen. for us whatever we do is right and govt is wrong. look at the way we cross the road, we never wait for signal but follow our own methods. you are in mumbai, so you how dangerous it is on Marine drive and PAlm Beach Road to cross and walk. the former has few signals but we cross wherever we feel like. while palm beach road is not meant for walker/joggers, still people do. now what govt do when we do not want to improve. similar with seat belts and helmets. we will follow all the rules religiously when we travel abroad and while in India, breaking rules is our birth right. you are aware of hazards related to cell towers. but since others are doing it, you also want it. there is no data that can identify that cancer is caused due to cell tower or how many hospitalized. it affects child development cycle. why dont you remove water filter from your house? you will not do it as you know it will affect you. the point was to highlight hazards and now its upto you what you want to do. the attitude you showed is what every Indian shows. and then blame govt when anything goes wrong. i am not saying govt is right or doing everything they can. we are also not doing what we can do.
  5. even i m looking for phone for my wife..
  6. for few bucks, we are ignoring long term health hazards that these towers pose. in western countries, people fight to drive out towers from their neighborhood while we fight to get the towers right on top of us. besides, there, towers are much higher then at ours. its pity that people don't realize how harmful these are to infants just for few bucks. we also do not estimate the effects of weight of these towers on building. we simply want more money.

  8. Leaked Gingerbread EF02 for Samsung EPIC

Even I tried it.. Its slow and screen refresh takes time. No advantage over EC05 except black task bar which is gb default. EDIT: I am planning to go back to EC05 as battery also draining fast. from full to less than 10% in 5 hours. this may be due weak signals but it wasn't the case with EC05. 10. Sharing Hard Disk For Small Group

In my office we did something. we have windows 2k3 server and net connection with static IP. we created all user with active directory and also enabled Remote Login on it. all users have access to 2 folders, viz one is his own folder to which no other user has access and one common folder where everybody has access. this common folder is used to share files between various users. now all users can access these 2 folders from anywhere using static IP and in order to make secure, use firewall and different port. not the default port provided by windows.
  11. Does Signal Boosters work?

you need to complain cc and also put in writing. you need to follow up with them continuously. i prefer from service provider as you do not have to program and they maintain it.
  12. Does Signal Boosters work?

boosters work if it is installed by the service provider. i earlier had from Vodafone and it did improved the signal quality drastically. i am not aware if anything else will help or not.
  13. I am posting this so that we can act together and garner support from others on the net. This article shows that how determination and net can force an MNC to withdraw a case. Now we can also start a facebook page or twitter account to target RCOM for cheaper data plan and other grievances. We are struggling to get people sign petition. The reason may be everybody things that petition means a case. It is not true and it is hard to literate people. With Facebook/twitter, people they are posting a comment and not "fighting a case". I may be wrong, but there is nothing wrong in trying. Facebook and twitter will give wider exposure compare to Rimweb. I tried to find his twitter page without any luck. Original article

Future of flying: Airbus reveals the see-through plane that could be jetting holidaymakers away by 2050 Original Article For flight passengers who battle with the feeling of being penned into aircraft cabins with little natural daylight, aviation designers may have found the perfect solution...a plane that is transparent. The futuristic concept for travel in 40 years' time was yesterday unveiled in London by Airbus. The planes of 2050 could, the company says, involve aircraft with 'intelligent' cabin wall membranes and interactive games. Window on the world: Gone are the small aircraft windows in the 'vitalising zone' which provides a panoramic view for passengers Flight of fancy? Artists impression of an x-ray of an 'intelligent' concept cabin of an aircraft of the future First, business and economy cabins are replaced by zones for relaxation in the front, work in the back, and a fully-stocked bar for socialising. Passengers will be able to see everything to the sides and in front of them. So blindfolds might be handy come take-off and landing time. The aircraft's walls change according to light conditions. There are holographic pop-up gaming displays and in-flight entertainment powered by the heat of passengers' bodies. The technology could mean travellers might even be able to read bedtime stories to their children back home. Most of the basic technology such as moulding seats and 'head-up displays' already exist, but how Airbus plan to make the plant-based, transparent 'skin' of the plane remains a mystery. Starry skies: The cabin wall membrane controls air temperature and can become transparent to give passengers views throughout the day and night Voyage of discovery: Artist's impression of how the aircraft of 2050 will look on the outside at night The concept cabin would be a bionic structure that 'mimics' the efficiency of bird bone, claim Airbus. It would provide strength where needed, and also allows for an 'intelligent' cabin wall membrane which controls air temperature and can become transparent to give passengers open, panoramic views. Airbus believes that mid-century passengers might be able to enjoy a game of virtual golf or take part in interactive conferences, while the cabin 'identifies and responds' to travellers’ needs. The cabin of the future follows last year’s unveiling of the Airbus concept plane, packed with technologies to reduce fuel burn, emissions, waste and noise. In the cabin concept, the 'vitalising zone' helps passengers relax, with vitamin and antioxidant-enriched air, mood lighting, aromatherapy and acupressure treatments. Anyone seen my ball? Passengers will be able to play virtual golf in the interaction zone on the plane In the 'interactive zone' there are virtual pop-up projections taking passengers to whichever social scene they want to be in, from holographic gaming to virtual changing rooms for active shoppers. The 'smart tech zone' is tailored towards the more functional-orientated passenger with what Airbus describes as 'a chameleon-style offering.' It aims to meet individual needs ranging from a simple to a complete luxury service, but all allowing you to continue life as if on the ground'. Airbus engineering executive vice-president Charles Champion said: 'Our research shows that passengers of 2050 will expect a seamless travel experience while also caring for the environment. 'The concept cabin is designed with that in mind, and shows that the journey can be as much a voyage of discovery as the destination.' Sky's the limit: Charles Champion, Airbus's Executive Vice President of Engineering, yesterday unveils the Airbus Concept Cabin at the Royal Observatory in Greenwich, London

  24. Samsung Plans To Buy Nokia

i dont see any value proposition or benefit that samsung will get from Nokia. Samsung already has presence in all the markets and i dont think it can do anything in low value handset market. I feel its similar to ebay buying skype only realised that its of no use. similarly, samsung can get access to some research of nokai, but then are they worthy. time will tell.. besides nokia is also loosing its brand loyalty at much faster pace.
