Government Proposes New Verification Rules For Telecom
csmart replied to anshu_s09's topic in Indian Telecom / General News
i think main problem is that Telcos are unable to keep track of pre paid customers. they simply do not have proof for prepaid customers. whenever govt ask them for proof, these cos will ask customers to provide or otherwise will disconnect the line. in part got is also correct. for security reasons they have to do it. otherwise we ourself will say what govt was doing till such time.. -

canon is really good. try if youc an get Ixus 90 or 95. its old model, but believe me, its fast and result is really good. i forced my friend to opt for it and he is very happy. in your range in think ixus 200 or 210, touch screen will also fit. try out sony and canon at Croma or ezone. you can compare the difference immediately. even i have 2 canons, 1 ixus 210 and other is powershot A380 or so. i am loving both of them.. -
i will suggest never to go for LG/Samsung. like all electronics, you may run in trouble if you are unlucky with any brand. its always better to opt for reputed and good brand. LG/samsung are the worst. i know at least 10 people who had problem with LG/Samsung LCDs from the begining. their CRTs were good. if still you want, then go for Samsung but avoid LG at any cost. most Japenese brands like SOny, Panasonic, Toshiba, Hitachi, Sharp are better and more reliable. if you can find Philips, thats also goos. dont go for Akai/Sansui. they both are from videocon.

Internet Explorer Market Share Dips Below 50 Per Cent
csmart replied to kesav's topic in General Technical Discussion
it may be some other issue. i used to make payment thru citibank and other bank credit cards on FF without any problem. the problem with few bankers and govt. tender sites. they simply do now want to support any other browser but IE. and in most cases, TCS is culprit. they handle the back end for these banks and govt. institutions. -
Internet Explorer Market Share Dips Below 50 Per Cent
csmart replied to kesav's topic in General Technical Discussion
as w3 school, IE shared is below 50% since Sept 2009. check details many developers across the world rely on w3 to determine browser usage. i migrated to FF from IE since FF 2. i also used opera for some time may be 3 months or so and then back to FF. but now i am using chrome 6 beta and loving it.. CCI cnat do anything. the problem is that most indian govt. tender sites simply support IE only. reason, ie version is 6,7 or 8. while other are still having 3 or 4 or so.. to my surprise, in many cases, TCS has provided them e tendering services. -
Mobile Phone Sales At An All Time High
csmart replied to rajanmehta's topic in Indian Telecom / General News
look other way around. the majority of Indian population is in lower income group. this people cannot afford handset worth 3000/- and such situation, cheap chinese mobiles and indian handset prevail. we argue for quality, but what if you cant afford. there is also other class of people who can afford, want quality but never want to pay. take an example for an AC. why samsung/LG with 2-3 star rating are sold like hot cake. even though they consume more electricity, people prefer them as they cost more. if you buy a 5* rated ac, you will cover the cost within a year depending on use. -

if HTC repairs then its fine. i doubt it.. otherwise give it to trusted repairwala and if possible, ask him repair in your presence. TP is bit complicated and not all know how disassemble, forget about reassembling.

TATA placed its GSm service for mass market and started per second billing and other stuff. they realise that to attract more and mroe customers, you need to have better pricing and excellent coverage. RGSM messed up big time on both the front. it never realised that data is the money minting business and not voice. they never capitalised on capabilities of using most of their instruments as modem and connect to laptop. i think they opted for GSM for 3G and international roaming and to some extent attract youths as they change handsets faster than their clothes. but this age group was always distant itself from reliance for lack of instruments. there was always void or limited handsets in the range 7k to 12k. they have limited handset for all category except for low end. i dont know what Anil is doing. even their movie theatre, in south mumbai, is highly priced and you are sure to get tickets there even in first week in most cases. anyways we can argue and find lot of mistakes. but they screwed up big time. its good suggestion to split RCOM in 3 - RCDMA, RGSM and tower co. then they might find buyers or investors.

I am looking for new mutli function machine with following features 1. Copy (photocopying - main reason to buy) 2. Scan 3. Print (from network PC also) preferably black only. 4. low running cost 5. Printing paper size max A3 (however if cost is too high, then A4/legal is sufficient) 6. Speed: about 20 pages per minute. i know higher the cost for high speed. Budget: 50k (+/- 10%) Recently i have started new venture and need to submit lots of documents for tenders. on average, one tender is of about 500 pages. I need to submit 1+1 (at least). so need photocopying machine. However this will be probably once in a week. I also want my entire staff to print on this if economical. and scanning also. fax is not that important. my father has Modi Xerox and they charge 40 paise per copy and plus paper cost. paper is provided by my father. modi guys provide toner/ink for the machine and service it. currently I am using HP 1002 LaserJet for printing and all photocopying is done outside. this requires one peon engaged in that and also they are nto charging less than 90 paise. some one suggested me Canon. for me brand is not that important, but it should provide good quality and after sales service at reasonable rate. i want to know if anybody has used such equipment and experience for the same. which brand you recommend? thanx in advance...
