i have read at many places that EvDO cant be activated on foreign handset. but i have doubt or suggestion. i may be wrong. we are getting EVDO RUIM. activate EVDO on these RUIM and then transfer the number on non RUIM based number. load EVDO PRL on the handset, then it should work or not. as using RUIM details on the handsets. i may be wrong. i thought of trying it. but couldnt do it as presently cant turn off phone due to certain official work. besides, i dont have OMH based handset as of now...

i never faced this problem on touch pro. contact reliance or try to reload PRL. furhter i am using energy rom.. i tried various energy roms.. u miss certain benefits of original. at the same time, with original, you feel you are missing energy.. so its personal choice. energy rom link is here Click here. i will suggest to use cookie and not the GTX theme. Source New HTC Android Slider Offers Both GSM, CDMA 3G A new HTC phone may be soon giving the Motorola's Droid 2 a run for the slider smartphone crown. Shots of the HTC device first leaked early last month via Android Guys. The phone has now been confirmed, thanks to testing results posted by the U.S. Federal Communications Commission. The pictures shown by the FCC clearly indicate a Verizon logo on the faceplate, meaning the device is likely coming to America's largest carrier -- and soon. The device has a 4-inch touch screen, microSD memory expansion, a rear-facing camera with single-LED flash, and a slide-out physical QWERTY keyboard. Despite having a smaller screen than the HTC EVO 4G, it has a wider footprint. Part of the space is likely devoted to extra modems. The phone features dual 3G modems -- a CDMA 2000 connection (which includes EV-DO Rev. A access) and GSM 850 modem. Plus it packs Bluetooth and 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi at 2.4GHz. Why is the dual 3G modems significant? They allow the phone to communicate with virtually any network around the world. Also, very few phones are dual-mode capable. The phone is rumored to have a 1.2 GHz processor, but then again the HTC Vision (T-Mobile G2) was rumored to have one too, and it turned out to only have a slower 800 MHz design. Given the poor battery life on the majority of HTC's devices (a day or less), hopefully some of the extra space goes to more battery real-estate as well. The phone bears roughly the same dark grey (outside) and cherry red (inside) plastic color scheme as the HTC EVO 4G. The FCC release refers to it as the "HTC PD42100". The internal code name is unknown at this point. The phone will likely be rebranded with a new "Droid" name, though, since it's headed to Verizon (à la the Droid Incredible). Thus we probably won't know what final name the phone will bear until Verizon officially announces it.

Landline Numbers May Have 10 Digits Soon
csmart replied to Greatest's topic in Indian Telecom / General News
seems good move. but it should be across the country and not like current scenario where digits vary from major cities to b grade to towns to villages etc.. fix no of digit with minimum possible STD codes.. the best example is US where they have 3 digit area code and 7 digit number. should be implemented faster as private cos are only in cities and may not oppose it. while rest of India, BSNL is there.. -
appreciate if anyone can provide me step by step or link to make touch pro work on reliance. i had to change my sim card and hence all changed. i dont have details now... i know abt esn.. but then dont know how to change it... thanks in advance... :sos: :sos: :sos: :sos: :sos:

First Google Android SMS Trojan Found, Researchers Report Source Security researchers are warning users of Google Android-based devices about the appearance of what may be the first Short Message Service Trojan targeting their devices. It was originally discovered on a Russian smartphone news site. Dubbed Trojan-SMS.AndroidOS.FakePlayer.a, the malware is being used to ring up charges by sending text messages to premium rate numbers. According to Denis Maslennikov, senior malware researcher at Kaspersky Lab, the Trojan passes itself off as a media player named Movie Player. "During installation, the user is asked to allow this application to change or delete memory card data, send SMS [messages] and read the data about the phone and phone ID," Maslennikov wrote on Kaspersky's Securelist blog Aug. 10. "This is a huge red flag—why does a simple media player require permission to send SMS messages?—and anyone who's paying attention during the installation process will immediately be suspicious." If users install the malware, it will send SMS messages to two premium-rate numbers, "with each message costing roughly $5. It does this ... without requiring any confirmation from the device owner," Maslennikov wrote. According to mobile security vendor Lookout, the Trojan is so far only affecting "Android smartphone users in Russia and only works on Russian networks." The company said it has not observed the malware in the Android Market. "Our application permissions model protects against this type of threat," a Google spokesperson told eWEEK. "When installing an application, users see a screen that explains clearly what information and system resources the application has permission to access, such as a user's phone number or sending an SMS. Users must explicitly approve this access in order to continue with the installation, and they may uninstall applications at any time. We consistently advise users to only install apps they trust. In particular, users should exercise caution when installing applications outside of Android Market." Lookout recommended that users review their phone bills for premium SMS messages they did not send. Also, "If you have recently downloaded a media player, check the permissions to ensure [that] it does not have the ability to send SMS messages," the company added. "Automatically permitting a new application to access every service it requests means you could end up with malicious or unwanted applications doing all sorts of things without requesting any additional confirmation," Maslennikov warned. "And you won't know anything about it."
