  1. Paying Bill Through Reliance World

Another way to pay via internet is by logging into the relianceinfo.com website. They link to various methods of payments online including ICICI Credit Card or Debit Card. I prefer this because they have a record of past bills paid so I don't end up paying same bill twice!
  2. What Are You Seeding/ Leeching?

  4. All About Nokia 6265

The Economic Times has an article titled CDMA Operators for Image Makeover at http://economictimes.indiatimes.com/articleshow/1927723.cms, where it is reported that TATA and Reliance are now offering high end Sets with high end technology for better returns instead of focussing on the ABCD (Aya-Bhayya-Carpenter-Driver)! It may be true in case of Tata as one can see them making an effort to get brand recognition as providers of High end sets like Moto etc but Reliance case seems strange, to say the least. Observe that It is Nokia that has released TV advts for 6265 and not Reliance. Is it because Nokia India was fed up waiting for Reliance to come with the advts and gain from its features? If Reliance is indeed trying to attract high end users than its corporate efforts are failing. It is unable to make use of the advantages offered by CDMA technology for high end users of say WAP. Reliance could have got a big media mileage and a boost to its image if it had properly launched Nokia 6265 and also offered some of its features we were using like WAP browsing free for a certain period to be followed later with a usage based charging plan! As a user of Reliance Info it is my sincere wish that its competitor TATA Teleservices pulls up its socks fast, gets its act together and starts offering the best there is in CDMA. And than if market forces come into play may be Reliance Info will wake up from its 1950's management slumber and will see the writing on the wall!

The same problem with wap browsing since yesterday, through Rworld (go to URL), through Opera Mini and through Flurry. Are your other Java applications working? I don't have any on my phone. Do you think there is a way around with twiking of say DNS etc. I feel Relianceinfo website should have official discussion forums where these types of problems could be discussed officially and early official clarifications on WAP Browsing, downloading limits, charges etc could be openly posted!

This may seem outdated but I am having problems converting from MP4V to 3gp using both MagicBit 3gp Converter and Media Coder. While Media Coder Converts to 3 gp file and I can play it on my desktop using Media Player from Nokia Suite, the media player on my Nokia 6265 is unable to open it and an error occurs. The MagicBit after registering with Key generated by KeyGen, appears to convert but the encoded file is always only 1.39 KB big! I can't figure out what's happening. I am trying to download video podcasts through Itunes and then play them on 6265 after conversion. Can anyone help? Thanks

Hi! I'll try my best to answer some of your querries. 1)If you don't have MTNL/BSNL you may contact TATA Sky Helpline: For Western India: 020-66006633 Northern India: 0172-66006633 Southern & Eastern India: 040-66006633 I found their Helpdesk extremely informative and talkative! 2) The package comes with a Digicomp Set top Box which includes a TATA Sky Digicard, along with Remote Control, RCA Cable, RF Cable, Power Supply and a user Guide. The Antenna is included in the installation. There is only one model of the Set Top Box ie Digicomp. Some of the feature buttons on the remoate are provided on the Digicomp like On/Off Button, Channel, Volum adjustment, Select, Guide etc. The Flat Set Top about 26mm widex 5 mm thich and 18 mm deep is about 1.2 Kg in weight and should sit easily on your TV. The Introductory Package is for 3 months but costs Rs 200/- pm ie total 600/- for 3 months. As mentioned earlier. The Hardware including the Installation costs Rs 3,999/-. The monthly charges or whatever is worked out is to bought by prepaid vouchers much like in prepaid mobiles. Each subscriber is provided with a Subscriber ID. An interactive page on the screen in the 'Organiser' Category shows A/c Status like A/c balance as on previous date etc. The installation took 1 hour and the guys who came for installation spent another hour explaining various features of the service! After buying the Digicomp, you are supposed to contact the Helpline, who then fix an appointment for installation. The Service guys phone back confirming the address and show up on time! The installation was done neatly and with minimum disturbance. Some more things on the Digicomp: The digicomp can be connected to the TV in multiple ways: directly through AV output (they claim this gives the best results), For stereo TV set with RCA connector, through Hi Fi Amplifier or through VCR using RF Connector. I have connected the Digicomp to the AV of TV and I use the remote for all the functions necessary. The Home Screen has the Subscriber Help Channel playing in the preview window continuously. Mine is playing in Hindi right now. Also there are the Channels Category Listing tiles namely: Entertainment, Movies, Sports, Kids, News and Knowledge, Music & Audio, Regional. There is also a button for Helpdesk. You can also find channels through the Guide button which lists A-Z Channels and their program listings for a week. A button 'i' on the remote gives details of the program. Very brifely: You can set reminders for a program, There is a search and scan banner which appears at the bottom of the screen at your request if you want, you can set favourites, parental control, select language. There is a 'Showcase' option which features on demand Movies, English and Hindi Movies for which you pay extra. Right now they are showing at different times: Paheli, House of Fury at Rs 75/- per movie. When I called Helpline yesterday that I wanted to pay and see a movie, I was told that this is still under testing. It aslo has categories for Sports events and regional movies. (These must be under testing, because right now there is nothing no Paheli etc in Showcase!) There s 'Active' option which was becoming a favourites with the kids. Reason it was showing an option for Games for one day but has disappeared today. May be they are still testing! This had 6 games like Solitair, Alien, Blaster and more which were quite good and operated through the remote. It also had a option called wizkids for kids of 6 - 8 years, more like a computer learning program. That too has disappeared. Besides 'Active also has Multiple news channels on on one screen (4 channels right now) from the Star bouquet, Aaj Tak, Headlines and Hindi Channels. The voice from the highlighted Channel can be heard and can be selected for a full screen display. This is besides the normal channel selection thrugh the News category or A-Z Category. Finally there is an 'Organiser' option. Actually there is much more than this. The online helplines are very informative. I have not talked about the channels. But todys papers have all the details. Some of my favorites like CNN, BBC, CNBC, HBO and Zee bouquet is missed. More some other time. Ciao.

I also face this issue in Opera but the chances of error popping up is far lower than inbuilt minibrowser. When I start Opera, I face this issue initially but once I get going then I can surf seamlessly. Same here. Opera Mini works far better than inbuilt minibrowser. Flurry Mail is doing a good job too. However I just that you configure Flurry mail only for your account which has good spam filter like gmail! Sancharnet, rediffmail are not so good and Flurry Mail gets flooded with spam too!

  11. Nokia 6265 CDMA Launched on Reliance Mobile now !

Amazing! I have been lurking in these pages for some months now and my sincere apologies for that! But it has been a great revelation as all you guys have discussed about Nokia 6265! The curiosity, the frustation, the hope, the desire, the joy and the whole gamut of human emotions that pour out through these pages should deserve a Cover Page article in India Today! My hats off to all all of you who persisted and waited and are about to find out! I have thouroughly enjoyed being a silent participant and I must confess, I have now been engulfed in your quest as well! I have been promised my Nokia 6265 on friday, and I am keeping my fingers crossed. Goa is a much smaller market than you may be imagining. The Web Express owner in my town is my friend and we found out that the sets were available with Nokia Distributor in Goa one week back. But supposedly they are awaiting the chips, which according to them have been despatched from New Delhi (?), and should reach on thursday! Let's see! The pages of this topic in this forum tells the story of the Indian consumer, his global aspirations, the apathy of the provider and the lack of information to the customers. Was Reliance compelled to release the recent spate of new handsets due to the agressive posturing by its rival Tata Indicom? Would the RUIM enabled models provide more flexibility to the customer? Only time will tell. But for the present I for one eagerly await the next chapter to unfold in this saga of Nokia 6265! Regards, Goanguy
