Paramod Mahajan is no more. His tragic death is surely a national loss for all of us. The country needs leaders like Mahajan who have vision, fresh ideas and committment. He contributed immensely towards growth of mobile phones in India. May his soul rest in peace. Tributes from me on behalf of this Forum.

Please Read: My Mail To Chairman, Customer Care And Service Assurance Cell
Basant replied to ashley.james's topic in Reliance Communications
The customer service of Reliance is indeed very poor. Though we have been crying for last three years, there has been very little improvement. I have no idea about other operators but I know BSNL is worst. TRAI is supposed to be watch dog. Unfortunately, it has no time for poor customers. TRAI chairman should try connecting / speaking Reliance Customercare once and he will know the frasturation. Anil taking over has made absolutely no impact on the poor services , though we had pinned very high hopes on him. Ww are now left with little choice but to keep shouting or change the operator. My god bless all RIM users. -
On most of the times the police is rude to the victim instead of being friendly.............. However, i have one nice experiance too........ Few years back (peack time of militancy) , we (8 families-34 persons) were travelling in bus and going to Vaishnodevi. We were detained near Jammu as our bus permit has few problems. It was midnight and there was a long queue. The cops were not allowing the bus to proceed further in to J&K. I approched the Police Inspector (a Sardarjee) and told him our plight that we are coming from far East. He not only allowed us to proceed ahead (with just an written undertaking from me) but also certified the defective travel permit to make sure that we are not detained anywhere else. He was extremely well behaved and a nice guy who even offered us tea. I wish we had all cops like him. Whenever I think of cops, I always remember him.

It is nearly 4 months that Anil is in command of Infocomm. Yet to see any visible impact. -
Anil Takes Over As Chairman Of Reliance Infocomm
Basant replied to Arun's topic in Reliance Communications
I think Mr. Anil Ambani should focus on his existing businesses. Even after more than 2 years, RIM is in bad shape having poor growth. Airtel recently launched in new Circles has been able to get more customers in 3 months what RIM got in 30 months. BSES in Mumbai & Delhi is charges with worst kind of performances. Anil need to strenghten these units before jumping in to new ventures. -
Anil Takes Over As Chairman Of Reliance Infocomm
Basant replied to Arun's topic in Reliance Communications
Anil also needs to take care of customer part too. He needs to win the hearts of Reliance users. How about inviting him to this Forum? I do not know if there exists any similar Forum for other telecom users in India. He can learn many things over here which his company people won't tell him. Can any one write an invitation to Mr. Anil Ambani? -
power distribution sector is highly risky but very attractive in long run.... Reliance has proven credentials in terms of project planning & implemention (remeber Jamnagar refinery) Both brothers are highly ambitious..... ego problem too..........Chela, chamchas are present in both camps. CDMA based mobility by Ambanis was a big gamble and they have been sucessful. Now it is up to Anil to capitalise on this technology, spread the reach, improve customer care & satisfaction and attempt convergence. Already there is a talk to treat whole of India as one circle and do away with call distinction-local, STD, intra-circle etc. In telecom, once the initial setup is created, there is no cost-difference between a local call or STD call. There are very little variable costs and no savings if the network is under utilised. Anil should take advantage of this and introduce one calling rate for all calls and plans allowing unlimited calls.

In last 3 years there have been thousand announcements by Reliance-many business plans, schemes so on..............most of them have just died The Company make such announcements frequently. Fact of the matter is that it is yet to stabilise its operations in basic (voice) telephony which the core of all its business plans. No one need to take them seriously................!

My GTRAN (which i bought in June,03) developed some defects. Thanks to few RIM guys I know, they have replaced GTRAN with LG 6130 for which I had to pay Rs. 1500 bucks extra. I think it was worth since my batteries were nearly end of life and no new batteries are available. I understand this type of selective exchange is allowed by RIM on case-to-case basis. So if u r GTRAN is dead, try u r luck with RIM.

Reliance Infocomm Flags Off India's Largest Retail
Basant replied to Bhuppy's topic in Reliance Communications
In last two years we have seen reliance launching several marketing models:each ending up in fig failure. first they started with dhirubhai entrepreneurs:abandoned them midway. Next came marketing agents and 501 scheme: another failure RWW : Useless for they are powerless and can not take care of customers problems. Now WWE which seem to be frnachise model: The release says ' WWE would be monitored from DKAC": Means once again all powers centralised at DAKC. It is time Reliance Infocomm should stop experimenting and stick to business basics. -
GTRAN is indeed a sub-standarad set and we have been duped by Reliance.......... We have written to Chairman, CC many times before without any result. Best way is to file case in consumer court for compensastion and a criminal case in police station for cheating and fraud.

The fight has reached it heights...........! After telephone tapping, what cd be the next? Guess...............!

I have DAPO offer of Reliance which says free RWorld as part of DAPO Plan. No qualification like 'until further notice' or 'Free till Sept.03'. Can I post it here?
-
To me the reasons of losses ar following: 1. Due to its poor customer service, most high ARPU customers have stayed away from RIM. 2. Its flip/flop policy discourages customers to pay in time. 3. Its network spread is yet small. 4. It has too many employees doing few lil things.
-
Sorry Pal amtrag................u hve missed the point...........it is just not the question of cost/fees. The issue is of business ethics...............! Reliance promised free RWorld to DAPO. How can it go back and charge now? Do you like being looted in broad day light?
-
BULL****...................................! I am drafting a petition to Reliance, TRAI, TDSAT on DAPO usres being forced to pay for RWorld.....................!Just wait for few days. Of course it is ne body's guess, how much it will work.............
-
I guess installation of RIM/CDMA modem drivers on XP automatically disables all options other than broadband.

Restrain Reliance Infocomm, Say Cell Companies
Basant replied to Arun's topic in Reliance Communications
Cheers Reliance......................! Free competition must go on....if they rivals can not match, let them perish.............survival of the best n fittest. -
Chirag..............if u remember Reliance prominently advertised Free RWorld for DAPO which means all parts of RWorld absolutely free. Now thay can not add payment element on any pretext. If they wanna give any premium paid service, let them give outside RWorld. For DAPO, RWorld in entirely has to be FREE.....!
-
DAPO usres should get entire RWorld free without any qualification. Why only monthly membership free? Is it fair?

Indian telecom sector is getting deregulated gradually. The narrow ppolitical mind set is slowing the process. Presence of BSNL/MTNL is main bottleneck. Every politician wants to pamper PSU operators even at the cost of consumers. Common economics says that one gets discounted price on higher spending. For years together PSU operators charged more to consumers who had higher usage. Let us hope in next 3-4 years, this sector would be totally free and operators would be in a postion to offer attarctive packages without bothering for the Govt./TDSAT/Regulator. Reliance past/present is so shaddy, even if it does something within the law, eyebrows are bound to be raised.

According to ET it now almost certain that Anil will take over Reliance Infocomm. These bros have scrwed-up great technology and superb business plan that Dhirubhai had visualised. Let us hope Anil's tenure would bring in refreshing changes in the way Infocomm operates. Anil can surely take few lessons from this Forum. He will understand what Reliance users feel about the technology and the company. Why not invite Anil to this Forum?
-
I quite agree. all good works done get washed when u look at the way the company functions.

Reliance GSM operations in Orissa, Chhatisgath, Jharkhand are as worse as Infocomm. Though it started GSM operations 5 years back, the service network is restricted to few cities/towns. Since Reliance foundation and corporate philosophy have questionable marks, it hardly matters whether managed by Mukesh or Anil.
