  1. Don't do it. Airtel only shows 4g in the title bar but the speed is either lesser than 3g or equal to 3g. Only marketing gimmick. At least that's what I face in Chennai and Tamil nadu. Sent from my Redmi Note 3 using Tapatalk
  2. Great. Because I still haven't got invite even though Gopal ji processed my request with express speed ( Thanks Gopal Ji ) . So I tought may be Reliance was not yet planning launch for Tamil Nadu. Let me wait for some more time.
  3. Anyone from Tamilnadu Got the invite ? I haven't seen anyone ? KangaDeepan Ji ?
  4. now you can enter it in sheet https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1sHg56KiFEaAolIVzWBYBXKMIZlU6cweeemwgzIBAHek/edit#gid=0 Thanks Guru Ji.
  5. Guruji, Sorry saw this post very late . Saw that you have mentioned that you are putting all request on hold so that you can finish pending requests. Can you please add me to your list when you next start it ? I have also sent you a mail. Thanks in advance.
  6. Reliance CDMA Shutting down

No Calls or SMS in Chennai. I guess this will be amongst the last sector for Reliance to upgrade to 4G
  7. Reliance CDMA Shutting down

I also using in Chennai...going smoothly, do u received any MSG from rcom regarding 4G in Chennai... No I didn't get any message but there are network issues not faced before. Are you using EVDO ? Places where I used to get steady EV Signal now is fluctuating badly and speed often goes to 1x - Even during Weekends !
  8. Reliance CDMA Shutting down

I see the connection has worsened much in Chennai. Where I used to be able to get EVDO through out the City now its happening in patches. Phone often goes to 1x and heating up a lot.
  9. Reliance CDMA Shutting down

Guess its time and soon the website will change from rimweb.in to rjioweb.in
  10. But the News article in ET says both the companies are going to share each other's spectrums. So That should not be a problem. I guess Its like 2 Entities which will be sharing one huge Conglomerate of CDMA and 4G. Only Billing and Tariff will be different. Something like the TATAs and VIRGIN Mobile of the past. Maybe RCOM is planning to go the same way. That way they get to keep their customers Happy, Honour their long term commitment , Utilize the Spectrum to the Maximum and at the same time take a dig at the 4G services.
  11. Well I am sure they will Solve the Iphone part seeing that it is the trusted handset among business community . May be they will give an app like Skype with dedicated Number ?
  12. Hi, I have this Sim having purchased from a seller at Ebay along with iphone 5S. But I too got a phone from US which model number says it supports CDMA but when I insert this sim in iphone 6s it says your phone is not activated. Same time if I put any GSM sim , even LTE works fine. Any solution to make reliance work with it ? I wanted to upgrade my phone and give my 5S to my relation
  13. Dhiraj Ji, how does it compare with the Alcatel One Touch ? I ordered A one touch and got from flipkart during sale. I find it very helpful to view my mails SMS and whatsapp summary directly on the watch also to know who is calling . And of course I love the way I can flip my wrist and the time shows on my watch. What other features does the android wear have in addition ? What am I missing ?
  14. Kanaga Deepan Maybe this partnership will facilitate RCOM to follow the Sprint or Verizon Footsteps where the base is EV and major network coverage is LTE. So we get good LTE coverage outside buildings and in building basements and other places we get the CDMA signal which is rock solid. Its not so rare for LTE with EVDO . Infact most of the models like HTE E One 8 and other such High end models being sold on Rcom online store is all LTE compatible. So most of us on CDMA already have these LTE Handsets. But it won't connect to Airtel LTE. AFAIK it only connects to an LTE which has a base on CDMA. If I am wrong , please Educate me Gurus.
  15. OnePlus invites

Dhiraj Ji Lucky you Decided Asus over Op2. I got one and returned it to Amazon. Bad Battery. Have to Carry Wire with everywhere you go. Cant Believe its 4GB Ram. No difference between this and my 2 GB Ram Android Low Volume Heating up problem with some softwares. Problem with proximity sensor - Atleast in my unit. Only Camera is good and shooter is very fast . Didn't see any difference using the laser auto focus All in all - Lucky you.
  16. I Bought the Iphone 5S from this Guy for CDMA. Everything ( Data, Calls Etc.. ) Work. Only problem - Data is very Slow - Almost like 1X. But When I check the speediest.net it shows ok result approximately 250 to 300 kbps but practical speed when I download some Email attachment or some Software over iTunes is very slow.
  17. OnePlus invites

Hi, I am also Looking for One Plus 2 Invites. Anyone Has ? Thanks
  18. CDMA REV B handsets?

Re : EVDO Rev B. I think if Budget Permits Better go for HTC One E8 . Its the best for REV. B IMHO
  19. Hi, If I may Intervine - Battery life - Ok . If you use REV B on and off. The handset has some problem latching on to a network connects to rev B then to 1 X and keeps fluctating. This itself drains the handset battery. Tried with GSM 3G and Battery holds solid for 12 Hrs. This handset is on the Older firmware. Newer firmware available only for the 4g Version of the Handset which is sold in China. I read on the forums that an upgrade to the firmware solved the Network latching issue due to Qualcomm Chipset. I am afraid this particular Handset is not yet updated. So you will have to go with Custom Rom. But since there are 2 versions of Hardware out there you got to be really carefull. Otherwise your Phone becomes costly paperweight.
  20. Funny thing with reliance, always speed and buliding penetration and netwrok strength are all very good just when there is a slight cloud cover. I have used MTS Cdma but have never seen this with MTS. Only with Reliance. Previously there was a discussion on this topic some where and one person suggested that may be due to rainy weather number of people using reliance dongle on the move would be less and that leads to less network congestion and consequently more speed. But Will people remain indoors even for Slight Cloud Cover ? Also if speed will be good only when rain clouds are there, then Reliance cannot be used in Summer Especially in Chennai ?
  21. I understand when you say its sad to see Rev. B Spreading being out dated technology. But imagine this, as far as I have read in Wiki Rev A to Rev B Upgrade can be done with existing towers by CDMA operators. So its not a Costly investment for them and can be practically done at a very short time. Rev. B Gives you double the speed of Rev.A and almost 80% of 3G( WDCMA GSM ) Speed ( Fastest Clocked in my Rev. B Was 5 MBPS which is very very good compared to 2 Mbps possible on a Rev. A . In 3G Best clocked is about 8 MBPS ) . If you add to this the current unlimited plans By reliance its a real Boon. But... But.... But .... Like any other technology, 3G Speed in GSM is not affected (AFAIK and As far as I have used ) By the number of persons connected to that particular tower. Where as in CDMA the number of persons connected play a very important part. If you are a regular reliance CDMA user you would have noticed like me that the speed is very Poor even in Rev. B from 9 am to 6 pm. Something like 256 KBPS to 512 KBPS. So in spite of fantastic unlimited plans by RCDMA still these plans are unusable simply because of the network saturation.
  22. Yes Vodafone is one of the costliest network to be on. Their internet speed is excellent so even if you go for their red 1555 you will run out of the 8gb in no time. Plus its not unlimited. Once you exhaust your data you are charged I think rs.2 per mb. Also the 1599. If you add tax etc the final amount will be around 1900 to 2000
  23. Hi, Thanks for your post. I still have the ZTE Grand II and when I take out the reliance ruim from HTC Desire 816 and put it in ZTE Grand II I get the EVDO REV B Speeds. And it shows Rev B in network info. Plus, I have done the *#*#4636#*#* on both the Handsets with Reliance RUIM inserted. The Desire Shows EVDO REV. A, where as ZTE shows REV. B - Same Ruim Same place . So I think its the handset. Moreover I had activated my old MTS Ruim and checked with that too and again the same thing. ZTE connects to REV B where as Desire Connects to REV A . So I think its hardware related in my case. Or like you said it used to work in Mumbai and now its no longer working, maybe it has something to do with a firmware upgrade ?If we follow this line maybe we can achieve a solution. I can't presume because I don't know if REV B is active in Mumbai or Not. But as it is the Hometown of RCOM I would be Extremely surprised it its not. But if perchance there would be a solution to this problem by Changing the Firmware, I would really be eager to do it. Thanks
  24. Dear Friends, I have recently purchased a HTC 816 Dual Sim Beliving the previous poster on this forum who said it will connect to REV B . I bought this phone off Ebay and to my dismay I discover that this phone only connects to EVDO REV A. I also have a ZTE Grand ( Horrible battery so wanted to change ) which connects to REV B. Same Ruim, when used on ZTE connects to REV B and the same Ruim when I use it back on HTC 816 Connects only to EVDO REV. A. I am deeply disappointed. Please be careful and don't buy HTC 816 Beliving blindly that it will connect to REV B. Must be only some country specific models are Rev B Compatable. It would be better if interested people can make a list of which specific models connect to REV B and which Don't. Thanks.
  25. New Launch HTC Desire 816 g+g c+g

Hi All, I need a small Clarification. I have been using Reliance Evdo on Moto X and recently I bought the HTC Desire 816. Before buying this handset I wanted to Try out the EVDO rev B Speed, so I had borrowed a friends ZTE grand 2 and I got good rev. b speeds on that phone. So I bought this phone off ebay and tried using my reliance evdo again. But when I checked with phone info, I find that this phone is only connecting through EVDO rev A. So the speeds are not so great. Now should I give request in reliance insta care or should I replace my sim or should I go for custom firmware ? Thanks in advance
