yup, there's a name confusion - both the names one-way and two-way mirror seems to denote this trick mirror.
-
interesting... i had asked the exact same question to Arun sometime ago ! there WAS an explanation... forgot what !!
-
it would more an issue of 'decency' thing than an issue of 'illegality'
-
OF COURSE the mirror is real !! maybe u didnt understand what im saying - the "finger-nail test" is a hoax / urban legend. the best way to find out is to use the lights to our advantage, like linuxguy had said -shine a torchlight.
-
No offense taken, but try this - http://www.snopes.com/crime/warnings/mirror.asp started googling after i came back... its NOT true... looks like its one of those urban myths afterall found this intersting case of reversal though - its a public toilet where you can see evrything happening outside but people cant c u in there... WIERD... I dont think i can ever releive myself in there.
-
update: hey guys, the testing has been done. And i didnt find the desired 'difference' in the finger-tip test. Donno whats wrong... Something to do with the relative darkness on either side of the mirror, im guessing. no hotel dude, our dean has a 2x4 piece of this trick mirror is his office door ! - beleive it (no, not the dark sun-shaded ones, the real thing.) ... had to wait till he left office to check
-
Nice tip, I'll check this out today...

im surprised that kalam has actually said the quoted "developing countries... have been singularly chosen"... because Google earth has much higher resolution coverages/pictures of US airbases, warships and nuclear submarines and what not... the US govnt is pissed off too, supposedly and threatened GE to mask/blur some of the stuff. Actually, Yes, G.E is kinda scary sometimes...the closer i zoom, the more i wonder about the "legalily" of what i see on my screen. I am NOT ABLE to attach GE placemaks files - kmz extensions to the msg... mods, why not? Mumbai check out the subs see the planes/chopper on the carrier? Thats roughly about half the Indian Navy in those pictures above. This is the kind that worries governments, i bet. of course, its not real-time - its prolly years old. see the Taj pool? check out this airplane graveyard in US...cant even count. -
yup, im sure theres hell_a_lot of problems but the concept is NOT an impossible proposition. infact, i wouldnt want one of these power_net to my pc... i'll admit - im a lil scared.

Firefox: Honeymoon Over? This had to happen sooner or later. I guess the time has come. As read from wxpnews http://www.wxpnews.com/rd/rd.cfm?id=050920TI-Firefox Valid point there.... Anyways, all said and done, i would still stick to firefox.
-
U the first... looks like
-
no wonder... but dont u worry, ur not alone - every single movie we download thro torrents CAN be brought under 'copyright infringement' (if pursued)... they hadnt done it so far, now they seem to be starting. would be interesting to c how far they take it... oh, btw - great movie this madagascar cute and cudley boyz, cute & cudley
-
Interesting... definetly new. so, anti-piracy is catching up here in india too...
-

This "upto" thing is bull... like the "upto" 60% discount kinda trick. tricky b*****ds. and... im not sure if reliance is offering a 'broadband' cnxn as of now.dont know what this WEBEL does. Anyways, this i kinow for sure - the govt defn of broadband is "above/minimum 256 kbps". ur guy should NOT call it broadband, strictly speaking... but hey, didnt u hear, "broadband" has been THE most mis-used word of the year.
