  1. I can't connect to the Net from the 6900. I keep getting "Error Code:1012, Could not prepare Vision services", message when the phone tries to connect to the Net. This happens 99% of the time. Sometimes once in a day it manages to connect though. What could be the issue? I am running on dharvey's ALMOST OEM 6.1 Sprint Vogue ROM **V.2.1** with Working GPS/Rev A from ppc geeks, but I dont think the ROM is the issue, as I was getting the same errors when I used Hetal's ROM vers. 2. I think gmkarthikeyhan is under the impression that this is a forum run by Reliance... @gmkarthikeyhan: My dear friend, this forum is only CALLED RIMweb, it has no particular affiliation or neither is it part of the Ambani umbrella.
  3. Site That Ships Duty Free Stuff To India

What these site guys are doing I guess, is that they have an office in the US which purchases the item we order for and then "gifts" it to the original purchaser who's paid for it. lol
  4. Sprint Htc Touch Pro - Problems & Solutions

@ Dhiraj bhai: You still on the Original ROM or are you on one of the MRs? Good to hear that you've solved your battery /internet connecting issues. Too bad that wont work for me since I HAVE to keep my Data plan running 24/7 for the push mail application that I use. So I'm resigned to charging the TP every day lol Waiting on my extra battery and desktop charger now
  5. Sprint Htc Touch Pro - Problems & Solutions

^^^ The earpiece volume by default is low, so you may use the above mentioned cabs that Dhiraj has mentioned to improve the earpiece volume. In my case I tried Super Loud first but uninstalled it and am using Medium Loud now as I felt it was a little clearer and was not distorting the caller's voice. But its all each one's individual preference. Try either one cab first, if you don't like it, just uninstall it, soft reset and install the second cab. Every time you uninstall the cab and soft reset, the phone will go back to its default factory setting volume level.
  6. Create Contacts Group In Htc Touch Pro

When you're filing your contacts, use the "Category" section of each contact to create separate groups like Friends, Family, Business, Work, etc. Then you can set ring tones to each group or category. If you have your contacts from the phone already backed up in MS Outlook, then add the categories in there and re-sync your MS Outlook contact database with your phone. PS: And henceforth when you keep adding new contacts to your phone book always make sure you add them to any one of the categories to which you would like to categorize them. By default the phone book in WM has about 5-6 categories but you can create your own new categories as well. After creating and filing all your contacts to the various categories that you want you can use a Ring Tone Manager to specify tunes for each category so that you will know if its a friend , work colleague or someone from your family calling you, etc by just hearing the ring tone specific to that category that you have set the tone for. Would suggest the Ring Tone manager that I am using on my Touch Pro. Its a freeware software call VipPimRingTone created by V3patel on xda. Only thing you need to be alert to, is to make sure you sync your phone to the computer after setting the ring tone for every 75 contacts as there is an error in ActiveSync when you try to categorise more than 100 contacts at a time. The work through for this is as follows: Work around is update 75 contacts then sync and update another 75 and sync again. I do it this way connect my mobile to desktop using active sync Start VipPIMRingTone and go to the Category section of the program Replace Current Ring tone in the Options box,Specify Ring tone to the category you want and click the Assign button on the program When popup comes saying more than 75 contacts updated then click sync button on desktop active sync application Once sync completed then click ok/continue button mobile device. Repeat step as needed. The cab file is here for : VipRingTone81.CAB
  7. Arrey Dhiraj bhai.. the Mogul is nowhere near as smooth as the Touch. You only have the keyboard and wifi as positives on the Mogul. The Touch has a better processor and more internal mem and definitely is a smoother phone (looks wise and performance wise) for all other aspects. You can load up any ROM and head to head the Touch will beat the Mogul on snappy performance at least 8 out of 10 times (btw this post is by a hardcore Touch user who feels aggrieved by the discrimination of the Mogul community who have a more prehistoric model as compared to the Touch)

  11. Thinking To Change My Phone

Most of the HTC phones, in fact most mobile phone companies are focusing on tactile based OS, so going for non touch phones you might have to go retrograde. As far as QWERTY, two options you have would be the Mogul and Touch Pro. Not sure what you meant by "Seamless Internet browsing", but I could vouch that any OS that can fully support the Opera Mobile 9.5 gives you the best brwosing experience presently for mobile phones. HTC phones arent very good (compared to Sony Ericcson, Nokia, etc) for multimedia Touch, Mogul and Touch Pro all have provision for external storgae card with support upto 16GB WM OS is quirky, just like their PC counterpart, but its easy to work with because its a familair interface for most people, just like the PCs, and added to that you get a very wide array of software/apps you can chose to customize your phone according to your requirement. Touch does not have wifi, while Mogul, Touch Pro and Diamond have wifi. Look up Sadikk's range, in Sadikk's World in the Buy/Sell section of the forum. The phones he has are extremely well priced, compared to the store models you see for the CDMA range here in India, delivered promptly and you can have it delivered home for you, so needn't travel about looking for a good phone. PS: Look me up, if you like, since I'm based in Cochin too, though I will be out of town till the 18th. I just switched to a new Touch Pro today, sourced from Sadikk. You can see both the Touch Pro and Touch which I was previously using and decide which would be a good choice among those, or go for an alternative model.
  12. All three will need tweaking. There's no "out of the box" solution for any of the above handsets that you've mentioned. I have owned the HTC Touch for about 15 months now. Its a light and slim phone with a pretty decent performance, probably better than the Mogul as far as smoth operation of the OS is concerned, and not being bulky is its main advantage. The Mogul would be a "brick" compared to it, but has the added advantage of a dedicated keyboard and wi-fi which is important to some people who use their domestic broadband to browse on the phone using a wifi router.. Keyboard was something I didn't really miss as I have become quite an expert with typing on the Touch's onboard keypad. The Touch Diamond and Touch Pro would have a similar difference between the two, but this time the only difference is that the Touch Pro like the Mogul, has a dedicated the keyboard while the Diamond is like the HTC Touch, its slim and only has touchscreen keypad. If you intend to do a lot of typing on your phone and would like to have a full QWERTY keyboard albeit with tiny keys to help you type quickly, then go for either the Mogul or Touch Pro. If slim form factor is your main requirement, choose between HTC Touch or the Diamond. If you need wifi connectivity, then choose the Mogul, Diamond or Touch Pro.
  13. Sprint Htc Touch Diamond

awesome i tried a couple posted in xda but none worked this has increased the talk/hear volume considerably but not much change while listening to music using speakers YOu have confused me. Should I order Diamond. Voice volume was lower in my GSM J150 so I sold it at half price just after 3 months. Pls suggest me a good phone in CDMA with good VOICE volume. If voice volume is the criteria, you should definitely consider other handsets besides the Touch Pro and Diamond as the inherent factory setting volume is extremely low on both these phones, especially the Touch Pro. This can be rectified with a cab solution posted in the threads here but still it doesn't do much to enhance "clarity" it only increases the loudness. So if voice clarity and clear sound is your topmost requirement look at other alternative models.

Wouldn't have been up and running so quickly on the Touch Pro without all your help bhai! Thanks!
  15. Sprint Htc Touch Pro Mini Review

Thanks for the review Muffadal. I'll probably be having my Touch Pro with me by Wednesday (keeping fingers crossed), so in preparation for it I would like to know which is a recommended ROM to use on the phone in terms of smooth performance, good battery life, etc. I do hope this thread or another one is created in this section dedicated to just the Touch Pro so that we wont have jumbled posting of the Diamond and Touch Pro in the same thread.
  16. Sprint Htc Touch Diamond

Are any stand-alone cabs for RMobileWorld and NetConnect to use on the Touch Pro available as yet? Seems like there arent any Touch Pro users with full functionality on the Reliance network as yet?

  20. Sprint Htc Touch Diamond

Probably that fix works for Touch Pro too? Cuz its been said that the Touch Pro volume is even lower than the Diamond's. That fix is probably more critical for the Pro lol Thanks for the upload.

    Must be a used piece?
  22. Considering A Change In Handset....

Ok chaps.. I'm back after a long long hiatus. Been busy setting up a new business venture and finally its about rolling now, so I seem to have a little more free time on my hands than in the last 8-9 months. Been using the HTC Vogue sourced from Sadik bhai more than a year ago, and that handset still absolutely rocks ( I don't care what you Mogul owners think, I think the Touch out-touches your phones... ) Anyways.. the reason for this post is..I am considering a change of handset, not because there's anything wrong with the Vogue, its just that I want another model and yes, I will stick to the WM platform. First off.. I am NOT considering the Mogul as an option, that would be going retrograde ... seems like the only alternative options I have right now if I source the phone from Sadik ( and that is what I plan on doing) is to go for either the Touch Diamond or the Touch Pro (unless there is another newer model also available by Sadik from the HTC stable for CDMA users ) I use the phone a lot to browse and facebook from the phone itself, so I presume the option of taking a Blackberry from Sadik to use on the Reliance network is useless to me since data connectivity doesn't work on the c*acked BB sets from Sadik? Anyways.. those are my thoughts. if anybody has suggestions for a new HTC handset for me to replace my Touch, please post here Cheers
  23. Considering A Change In Handset....

@Hari: On your suggesting I'll probably go with the PRO this time..but this time you take the Diamond? That way we can still keep fighting @Mufaddal: Thanks mate. I guess you've sure given a lot of clarity to the issue. Was kind of tilting towards the PRO, and after all it is a newer release. My pocket was quite light till now because my Touch was not a "brick".. but I think this time I'll take the brick and see if it'll give my equilibrium some more stability
