If the Diamond has 256mb, that's the same as the HTC Touch which also has 256mb . In that case the Touch Pro with 512mb would be a lot smoother in performance wouldn't it? Absolutely spot on about installing apps only in external mem, that's what most of us do anyways (at least I follow that method) I'm not a big fan of listening to music on my phone, in over a year of usage I have only 1GB filled on my 8GB card, most of which are probably apps , some games and ebooks. Was going through a few reviews and most of them did state that the Diamond was pretty sluggish in performance as compared to the Touch Pro Since you are a Diamond user, would you say the same as well?

Thanks Muffadal, I'm pretty handy with touchscreen keyboards (as I've been using the keyboard on the Touch for over a year now), so a qwerty keyboard is not all that big an attraction. But better processor, more memory and external storage card option will definitely be points I look up as the deciding factor. If I'm not mistaken, the Diamond only has on board 4GB bundled without the option to add an external storage card?

Offline For A While Hey guys, Sorry haven't been around much lately. In the labor pangs of setting up a new company and also organising an alumni meet coming up in Cochin on 3th and 4th Jan 2009. So I'll be more offline than on. I miss RIMweb but sometimes other things take priority and this is one of those times. Wish you guys all the best in difficult times like now, when we have retarded politicans to "safeguard" us and "yo yo" equity markets to give us sleepless nights. Just want you guys to know, I'm just an sms away if any of you need to get thru to me, for whatever reason. Take care Anupe PS: I voted for RIMweb's nomination for the poll btw and a 5 star on all ratiings ( as if I would think of any other rating anyways) lol Take care guys.. miss you ALL

Has anybody used the service Access USA to import stuff from the US?? If yes, please let me know if matters like import duty, etc are taken care of by that company or will we be burdened with having to pay the import duty additionally when the material is delivered to us in India? How's the quality of service offered? They promise 3rd day delivery in India. I remember seeing a post from Hetal regarding this service in one of the HTC threads, but no additional info was available. If someone could throw some light on whether this service offered from the USA is a good one to import stuff from there, I would be most grateful

I hope all friends on rimweb from Mumbai, and their near and dear ones are safe and have not come to any harm. My condolences to anyone who may have had losses from this despicable act by these inhuman beings who wage war against unarmed and innocent people.

Black Berry For Normal People Without Balckberry Email Service
Anupe replied to suvirajshetty's topic in BlackBerry
You can get push mail for free ( and it supports both enterprise as well as branded email accounts like gmail, hotmail and yahoo) if you use the SEVEN software.(I've posted the link to it in the HTC thread) Its running fine on my Touch now for the last 3 weeks or so. Running on Rel Mobileworld settings, its the cheapest option for real time mail if you dont have a blackberry BTW, its this same software that is being sold by Airtel and Vodaphone on their GSM service as push mail software and chargable at Rs.300 or so per month, and it supports not only Windows Mobile OS, but also Symbian OS, so probably most of our popular phones will work on it. -

Not sure about the first case, but in answer to your second query, WM OS already has a zip program bundled into it. If that isnt enough, you can also use a free version of PocketRAR, which is the mobile version of WinRAR.

Ok fellow RIMwebians, exdesi.com is open once again for an extremely short time so all who want to join in there please hurry

Yes your local dealer who deals in mem cards can get it for you. if he quotes higher than the price I said, you can tell him that it is available from authorised SanDisk retail sellers for Rs. 1350.

I signed up for a free (for now atleast) push mail client called SEVEN ( its in beta) and have configured my Gmail to it. It works perfectly fine, running it on Rel MobileWorld connection. As you need to have your net connection running constantly, using the Rel NetConnect settings would work out to be too expensive. I have been testing the service since this evening and its working like a dream! You can also configure yahoo, hotmail accounts etc, though I havent tried those. As long as you keep the headers download limit to 10-20 kb, you will not be charged too much by reliance as you will not be downloading attachments by default. But in case you need to download the attachments, then selectively those mails can be opened and the attachments can be downloaded. So far I have noticed that its working flawlessly. I get an alert on my phone within 10 seconds of the mail showing up in my gmail inbox. I have also configured two other business mail accounts of mine which are running from the google apps page and they're working perfectly fine as well. Unlike emoze, your computer need not be kept on, for you to get your push mail client to work. If any of you chaps want to give it a try, you will have to sign up first before you can download the beta cab. This is the link to the site http://community.seven.com/forum/main.php

The push service is not upto par at the moment as they had migrated their severs to a new office location. Things should be fine in a couple of days though. I'll update here once everything is working normally again.

8 GB micro SDHC from Sandisk is now available in Indian for Rs.1350 with 5 year warranty. Why bother to import??? I bought one for a friend last week.
-
The servers aren't working up to par as yet after the company moved their office last weekend. Most of the email clients are back online but service quality isn't still up to par like last week as far as pushing mail is concerned. I will update here as soon as I notice improvement and normalcy in their service @ Dhiraj: Gmail is working but its not pushing mail real time as yet. They'll probably fix it over the next day or so. I'll let you know.

Reliance Has Blocked Third Party Site Browsing When Using Mobileworld Settings?
Anupe posted a topic in HTC
As of this afternoon, I have noticed that I am unable to browse any websites on the phone using Rel MobileWorld connection. Only RWorld page is accessible. There seems to be no such issue with web browsing when Rel NetConnect is used though. Seems like Reliance is upto to their tricks once more and have blocked out browsing of third party sites when we use MobileWorld settings. I request all RIMWeb members who browse third party websites from the phones using MobileWorld settings to please check out my findings and report on this thread. Thanks. PS: @ Mods - If you feel that this thread should be moved to a more relvant section please do so. -

I would like to know how I can configure my Touch to use my home desktop PC's internet connection using the USB cable, so that I can browse the net on the phone using my domestic internet broadband connection. Anybody give me a heads up on the procedure??
