Cannot Connect To Lan At My Work After Installing R-connect
rajeevjee replied to Praveen Kumar's topic in Data services
You are welcome Sir ! -
Why Reliance is shifting to GSM? No Sir, it's not shifting. It's ADDING. And, this doesn't affect the conclusion that CDMA data cards are better than GSM data cards in performance. As far as price war is concerned, I am no one to control/ command/ comment over that. I was just giving my personal opinion on perf between CDMA and GSM and trying to help a fellow forum member to decide in a better perspective. As I said "Any day, CDMA is a better technology for data transfer when compared to OLD GSM technology"

Cannot Connect To Lan At My Work After Installing R-connect
rajeevjee replied to Praveen Kumar's topic in Data services
Internet Explorer-->Tools-->Internet Options-->Connections....select "Never dial a coonection" Then go to-->LAN Settings...put a check on Automatically detect settings Now, check with your office IT guy if your office internet is through PROXY server...if yes, ask him to put the correct proxy address etc... Let us know if you still face any problem. -
Nok 6235 is a very good option and 6265 is a flip phone...hence quite BIG in hand...performance of both is very good....try out at one of the Auth Reliance Outlets (they might show you dummies only) and decide one of the flavours Just one thing, Nokia has EXTREMELY POOR after sales...if anything goes bad (God forbid) you would be reqd to leave your handset at the serv centre (which would be probably only ONE per city) for minimum 20 days or maybe even months together and you would have to survive without a phone.

Airtel/ Hutch/ Reliance...all have data cards. Given the same set of external conditions (distance from BTS and configuration of laptop)...Reliance would beat Airtel/ Hutch performance-wise. Only reason why someone would be forced to switched from Reliance to Airtel is that his Reliance BTS would be farther (giving him less signal strength) as compared to Airtel. That's it. Any day, CDMA is a better technology for data transfer when compared to OLD GSM technology. Moral of the story : Whenever opting for a wireless device (whether GSM or CDMA), pls check for the signal strength availabality in your home/ office and then decide. Goes for mobile phone, FWP or data cards.

Baud Rate setting for LSP 350 with USB cable should not be set to 115200 Go to -- Menu-->Setting-->Phone-->Data Settings-->Data Baud-->USB Re-iterating the entire installation checklist once again-- 1.) Put the Data Cable CD first. 2.) Just plug-in the USB Cable in your PC. Do not connect the phone on USB cable. 3.) PC will DETECT USB cable and search for its drivers. 4.) Install the correct drivers from the CD. PLEASE NOTE, Windows may DETECT the cable TWICE and may DETECT again. In this case, DO NOT CANCEL the second detection and move ahead with second installation as well. 5.) After successful installation, RESTART your PC. 6.) Remove the USB cable from PC. 7.) Make sure your LSP350 has been set with Data Baud at USB (not 115200) 8.) Put the R-Connect CD and double-click on the R-Connect EXE file (the first file outside ALL FOLDERS...do not try to go inside folders and serach for more R Connect EXE files). 9.) The installation of R Connect Dialer would start and at one point-of-time, it will ask you to Switch on your phone, connect with USB cable and plug-in the cable to PC. 10.) Now, connect USB + Phone. 11.) Take a sip at your coffee...it will suddenly FIND THE MODEM and start looking for the drivers... 12.) Go on....you have made it !! All the best

In a nutshell....Performance-wise Reliance Data Card is a better option any day compared to OBSOLETE GSM technology cards. One MUST check- If you are planning to use your laptop at a fixed place (like office cabin or residence) most of the time...pls check the SIGNAL STRENGTH on any Reliance MOBILE in that location first because the perfromance is largely governed on number of signal bars (whether you take CDMA or GSM)...ALL THE BEST !!

R-World Monthly Membership Charges (for "M" sites access only) are Rs 25 per month (under pre as well as postpaid). You have another option. Ask them to migrate you into DAILY MEMBERSHIP plan. Here, on whichever day you enter "M" site, Rs 3 will be deducted from your balance and for the next 24 hrs you can visit any M site any number of time. But, if you use any "E" site or any "U" site, charges for that site would be deducted over and above Rs 3 previously deducte for "M" site. Call them now and get yourself migrated to DAILY PASS.

Hey buddy...range of towers gets blocked due to some high-rise buildings...hence this problem is faced by many (across all operators)...though I dont see any respite for you still you may take a chance by calling *333 and giving them details on your complete address, number of signal bars etc. They may also advise you to visit LG Service Centre....so try all that Finally, the best thing to do would be that you check out yuor friends'/ neighbors' sets inside your flat and find out which particular model gets the best reception in your room. If you are ready to spend money, you may then change your handset to that particular model...ALL THE BEST!!

Dear Mr. Somani, NOKIA has been displaying quite a high-handed approach all-over India when it comes to after-sales. They being the market leader (don't know why people still DEMAND Nokia over other manufacturers) have strategically decided to have minimum number of service centres (LG has 5-7 times more service centres for CDMA sets as compared to Nokia). No wonder you found long queues. In my view, you do not have any other solution...you are just at their mercy (even Reliance staff would not be able to interfere/ help). Best is to discard this Nokia set and get your number transferred into some other make set. But, that would be a very costly affair. Or, you may try to find a second hand BLANK Reliance set from the market, use a HCC (Rs 25) to transfer your number onto this second hand set till such time Nokia repairs your set. Then, once you receive back your repaired set, you can again use a HCC and transfer your number back to Nokia...All the best buddy!!

Well....you need to be more ellaborate on how you rate your current speed as "not-so-good". What is the signal strength on your phone when you get connected? What is the response of "ping -t del2.vsnl.net.in" ? And, are you using the ATM string as required for most of the Nokia phones? I assume you have been using R-Connect in past...
-
Pl detail your problem. What happened and what's the current situation.
-
Hi Neelsin, If it shows on your phone that you are connected, then how do you know that you are disconncetd. I mean, do you get any error message ON_SCREEN? Pls be explicit. Secondly, as soon as you connect successfully, type ping -t del2.vsnl.net.in on the RUN command. Let it run in the background and reply how it works. All the best..

Ok, I just tried. I suggest others should also try this. Called up Airtel CC Delhi. At first, this girl said that Sir, you would have to wait for another call from the same guy as we cannot give any info on this plan. I said that I doubt the authenticity of this offer and thats why I am calling directly. She put me on hold, checked with the backend team and then said that she had confirmed from the backend team and they were indeed giving VIP Plan to a selected database but still I should check the id-proof of the executive when he comes to take my documents. Then, I should ask him the FORM NUMBER and verify from Airtell CC on my own. When I said that earlier one of my friends had taken a similar offer and then he got the message for Rs 5000 transaction, she said that she is actually not sure of this offer and shall give me a callback in next 24 hours. Request other members also to try their respective Airtel CCs and find out what's going on..

Weird Hutch Calling Rates
rajeevjee replied to linuxguy's topic in Other Network / Cellular Providers
This is quite unprofessional. I guess, you should have taken a brochure/ written material from them on the plan rates. Is anyone facing a similar problem with any other operator (Airtel/ Reliance/ Idea/ BSNL/ MTNL)? Let's share so as we can warn others.. -

Help: Installing The Zte Mc315 Pcmic Card On Win2k Server
rajeevjee replied to ajitmenon's topic in General Technical Discussion
sorry buddy...R Connect is yet not supported by Win 2000 Server, Win 2003 Server and Win NT. It works only on Win 98SE, Win 2000, Win XP, and Win ME. The only option for you is to give away this card to some other customer and you opt for some other compatible connection. -
How To Netconnect With Lg Rd6500 And Original Data Cables
rajeevjee replied to BIBHAS's topic in Data services
Q) How to install R-Connect (thru data cable) ? Ans) Follow the following steps- 1- DO NOT CONNECT THE DATA CABLE PLUS PHONE TO YOUR PC/ LAPTOP. PUT IT AWAY FOR NOW. 2- Put the data cable CD in the CD drive. 3- If this CD (this CD contains data cable driver not the R Connect software as available on Reliance site) tries to run a program, cross it. 4- Wait for the cursor to settle down. 5- Now, just put the cable in USB port (DO NOT CONNECT THE PHONE ON THE CABLE) 6- Windows will "New hardware found"...follow instructions...it will automatically browse for the correct driver for your cable in the CD. 7- In some third party cases, the "New Hardware found" will run twice. DO NOT CANCEL THE SECOND time. Let this also run and install second time also. 8- It might or might not ask for a restart. 9- Still, do the RESTART 10- Now remove the data cable 11- Put the CD for R Connect Software (preferably from Reliance site) and run the .exe file 12- If it prompts "Continus anyway" click Yes everytime 13- It will prompt you to Power ON the phone and connect thru data cable at the USB port 14- DO IT 15- WAIT 16- WAIT 17- Suddenly it find the "USB MODEM" and continue further 18- It might or might not ask for RESTART 19- Go ahead and connect to internet !!! DO NOT WORRY IF THE CABLE IS FROM ANY PARTY (FOR LG SETS ONLY). Its just that first of all we should be able to put correct drivers for cable and then of course, it will be able to communicate/ identify the LG Modem for which the correct drivers are available on Reliance site. In your case, you just need to load the new data cable driver first, then it should be smoot sailing !! -

R Connect problem with electronic equipments
rajeevjee replied to chattymango's topic in Data services
for people facing r-connect disconnection problem (or any other provider's dial-up internet disconnection problem) ---- Internet connect hone per, jaise hi do chhote kabooter bun ke aapki clock ki bagal mein aa jayen) goto Start-->Run Type the following ping -t del2.vsnl.net.in (if you are in mumbai, choose bom2.vsnl.net.in; the idea is to choose a nearby internet server) A DOS window will open up and it will show either "Request timed out" or "Reply received etc etc etc" Now, some more things to remember. Make sure that your phone (FWP or mobile) is in a position where you receive maximum signal bars. In case, your webpage does not get loaded for a long time (the DOS window will show continuously "Request timed out") press the "END" button (on your phone) twice. The connection will be soft-rebooted (without actually disconnecting the Rconnect dialer). The above "jugaad" has worked till date (since 1997) for all dial-up internet connections of all providers in India and across India (who faced internet disconnections frequently for any whatsoever reason) All the best and do let me know if it worked for this electrical interference problem as well !!!
