CDMA phones use more power (not RF power, which is carcinogenic) when it is in use. So it get heated up during the conversation period and cools down during stand by time. Replacing the phone will not solve your problem. It is recommended to use a earphone if you don't like the heated up phone (it does not pose any health hazard), a most common one will be well available by less than Rs 100/- street price. Low cost Nokia phones are useless and they are prone to failure. LG is a better option and they have fair battery backup for colour phones (but still those will heated up during a call).

Reliance Netconnect Broadband Plus Billing Cycle
chiradip replied to chandanbs's topic in Data services
Customers are always harassed when there is a dispute occurs. 95% of customers in India do not read the terms and conditions of the application forms. When a customer decides to purchase a service or item they are simply ignore the terms and conditions and signs the contract form. The agent or the selsperson points the places where signatures are required. To my opinion this practice is wrong and please spend your half an hour to read and understand the terms and conditions. Ask questions to the sales person if you have got any doubt. Do not try to reach to a conclusion of your own and even if you have reached to a conclusion, get that varified from the company. All sharks are around to eat up your hard earned money. Hope you have taken a note from the incident and thanks for posting the experience so that some person may avoid the trap. -
Transcend/Kinston is widely available brand and is worth. Corsair is less found but worthy brand. Remove your 512 MB Stick and insert ONE 1GB/2GB chip as the two version of RAM sometimes give compatibility problem.

"huawei Ec168c" Is Not Working With "win Vista Home Premium 32 Bit"
chiradip replied to zeemoo's topic in Data services
The driver issue occured in a Vista Machine but that was with the printer. HP printer was not detected by the machine, which was supposed to be detected automatically as per HP. The only solution I tried that to install the latest service pack (Vista SP1). When the machine rebooted after installation without any further intervention the machine accepted the printer and for last four months the machine is running fine. You also may try to install the latest updates and service packs, probably the problem may get resolved. -
If you have bought this set from Tata Store, probably they are network locked. Same thing applicable if you would have bought from Reliance Store. They insert a unique code in the handset which locks the phone on their network who has inserted it. If you have purchased it from Samsung Store and it certifies that it is network free (like it happens with Blackberry or IPhone both locked and unlocked versions are available) then just remove the UIM of Tata and insert the UIM of Reliance. It should work.

You may wish to tap Sony Ericson K810i, F305, G502 (about 7.5 k, 3G phone) as now a days Sony Ericson gives wonderful battery backup and their charger issue with earphone sockethas some what resolved as charging socket is mini USB like port while headphone is 2.5 mm jack. But none of those are available by 7K and finally SE phones are little overpriced though you may wish to shell out that money for a really good phone.

Dear Sir, Natural disasters cannot be predicted upon. When something is about to happen the animals can sense it by the changing atmosphere as no natural disaster does not happen all of a sudden. Human are still helpless in this regard especially like cyclone or tsunami. If somebody has predicted it then he may be an astrologer not scientist. Probably you might have experienced that astrologers are 99% incorrect. Hence do not be frightened and enjoy Goa, Kovalam or Marina Beach with our new government.

It is possible to send the fax over Internet. As you access your boradband through WiFi probably your laptop do not have physical access to the phone line. Moreover almost all laptops come with built-in modem for dial up connection, you can use Windows Fax Utility (assuming you are using Windows 98 SE or above) if you have a physical link to the phone line. You can send fax through your computer while browsing. You may try the following link for sending fax over Internet and also try to search fax service on Google or Yahoo!. http://www.onesuite.com/products_OneSuiteFax.asp

I've also noticed the same but could not find any considerable change in the speed. I'm at Bangalore.

On 16th Jan I contacted Netconnect Customer Care at *355 to migrate from Plan Swift 30 (15 hours day & 30 hours night) to Swift 40 (to my belief it was 20 hours day and 40 hours night). To my astonishment, the Call Centre stuffer informed me that Swift 40 has been renamed as Swift 40 Plus and gives 40 hous day and 40 hours night surfing. This means that you get additional 20 day hour with same charge. A good move by Reliance. But Reliance guys are charging Rs 1500/- for unlimited surf while Airtel are charging Rs 999/- for the same (Rs 500 extra per month which will reimburse the cost of a new card in six months; Airtel data card costs Rs 2999/- including activation and taxes). Regards to all. Chiradip Das (0) 9342547195

I am using this cards for last two years without much issues. The only dissatisfaction is their unlimited surf (Platinum) plan, that is too costly. Thanks for keep me updated. Regards Chiradip Das.

Samsung Launches Handset For Pre-teens !
chiradip replied to Honest's topic in Other Network / Cellular Providers
Dear Readers, Be careful before buying Samsung products! They have very poor battery backup and the items are not worth to the cost involved. They tend to fail very soon {Mean time between failure (MTBF) for the items is hardly 8 months which is too poor. A good company should have the MTBF of at least 24-30 months}. I have stopped using any Samsung items. Before take a purchase decision please check the online reviews to save your hard earned money. Thanks Chiradip Das Tele (0) 9900241525 -
Already you have received some recommendations, in addition you may consider Avira which costs around $30 or Euro 20 for one year. I am using their free version. The detection rate is superb but does not support scanning incoming and outgoing POP mails (I think POP mostly not used by home users, GMail, AOL gives access IMAP. Only yahoo.co.in is POP one and might be your ISP's account). Paid version fills up the shortfall of the free version. But to my consideration Bitdefender should not be ignored because it is the cheapest and also nice (the scanning is a bit slow).

Airtel Reduces Std, Roaming Charges
chiradip replied to coolrajiv's topic in Other Network / Cellular Providers
Though AirTel has a few hidden charges, still they have not deprived their customers. They have brought first Lifetime Incoming offer, they have brought first Re 1 local calling. These suits have been followed by the other operators blindly. Now they have slashed the STD rates uniformly to Rs 1.5/min. The less call rate the more network usage, ultimately the revenue earning remails same and further gradually increases. Mr Sunil Bharti Mittal understands the business much better than Mr Anil Ambani it seems. -
Airtel Reduces Std, Roaming Charges
chiradip replied to coolrajiv's topic in Other Network / Cellular Providers
AirTel has reduced their STD rates to Rs 1.50/min for all customers. Reliance still charges Rs 2.65/min for the same feature (only thing that they have introduced a STV for Rs 98 which gives R>R @ Rs 0.33/min R>others @ Rs 0.49/min all STD @ Rs 0.99/min, though they have not announced on the web site). When they are reduce the STD charges for normal customers?
