I see only too problems with CDMA players are that 1. Lack of good handsets compared to GSM, and 2. Lack of comparable data plans. the second point is solely depends on CDMA players, why the hell they are not aggressive on this front?

Indeed reliance CDMA is not adding any new coverage areas. but that is purely, because they have lost business sense. I am pretty happy with the stability of the CDMA network.

but don't you think other than the chipset corby shares rest with its GSM sibling? Royalty is not the reason for pricing CDMA phones at a premium. Royalty is just 2% so it should be in the range of 140-160 Rupees for a Rs.7K-8K phone. The premium pricing is due to lesser number of sales of CDMA handsets compared to GSM.

why CDMA corby is premium pricing over the GSM one? almost costly by rs. 2000.

what is your opinion about sciphone guys? they have some good models, a iphone clone, a fake android interfaced phone and some of the US based forums vouch for them.

I must say here that I am a happy RCOM CDMA customer as far as network and tariff is concerned. I am happy, compared to my wife who has vodafone and brother's Tata DOCOMO connections. My only grudge about CDMA is lack of good handsets.

Go for Panasonic Lumix LZ 8, rated best by dpreview last year check test report at http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/Q408budgetgroup/ for comparison. Got some manual features also. Image quality is average and available around Rs. 6000 in Mumbai.

why curse CDMA service providers? why can't Nokia go Open Market Handset way like Samsung has done last year?

Infact, at MWC there is not much happening at Nokia even at 3G GSM side. The major launches and attractions seems to be from LG and HTC and ofcourse Palm Pre. It is here in India, where we are obsessed with Nokia.

if you keep your purchases in control, credit cards are great utility. don't overspend and pay the bills in time. I have rarely paid finance charges on my ICICI bank credit cards.
