  1. BSNL is never cheaper. For cheap tariffs and better coverage CDMA is the best. See for example For Rs.300 BSNL gives all local on net FREE. But Reliance gives for 299 all local onnet free and daily 30 min free to other network. See the difference. And I am sure even in long run CDMA tariffs only will be cheap. And Kanaga, I don't think you will be able to find a better plan than now you are in from any other operator and my personal advise would be never to switch to BSNL. Only if you are not satisfied with handset options you should move to other GSM operators.
  2. Reliance Launches Rs.49 Unlimited R-2-R Calling Pack

Still I prefer pre-paid since you have to Rs.85 per month extra when you calculate the taxes also. I do not understand why they always want to milk post-paid customers
  3. Rightly said. These politicians work only keeping elections in mind. With TN elections around the corner, we will see more drama.
  4. Dear Kanaga, Just I wanted to know if your port out from Airtel to TATA has been through (After converting Airtel postpaid to pre) Was your Airtel in company name and CUG? No... I have put the process of porting my Airtel number to TI on hold as I am now thinking of porting all my (10) TI numbers to BSNL now, because of pathetic 1x plans... So as a trial I am just going to port my Airtel-Pre to BSNL-pre this month and if everything goes fine, I will port all my Tata-Post to BSNL-Post for sure... And sorry Ganesan sir, my Airtel migration from Post to Pre has happened more than 90 days back... So I now think the conversion from post to pre is TAKEN AS NEW ACTIVATION ONLY as we need to fill new CAF form... Very very SORRY sir, for confusing you earlier... BUT I AM 100% SURE ABOUT ONE THING... CUG, CORPORATE CONNECTION or ANYTHING CAN'T STOP YOU FROM PORTING... I got UPC codes for all my TI connections on CUG + My co's name... I AM SURE AIRTEL IS NOT AT ALL WILLING TO GIVE GOOD OFFER AND STILL LET GO THE CORP CONNECTION users... So go and threaten them or please complaint to ddgpg-dot@nic.in and ca@trai.gov.in (courtesy: TelecomTalk) reg their mischieves... Thanks Kanaga. I will complain my case to TRAI and DOT. Meanwhile I am converting to pre-paid, so that even at worst possible case I can port out after 90 days
  5. Vodafone has launched a new voucher in TN which gives all local mobiles at 30p per min with a monthly recharge of Rs.69/-. MNP effect. But monthly recharge seems to high. Reliance gives it for Rs.35 and also all locals including landline. Anyway something is better.

  7. They r lying to you............ You can complain or write a letter to the nodal officer of both the companies means airtel & new company which u want to port in............and also write to TRAI....... They would give u a better reply and also ur request wud be taken as a complaint against the employee who said this to you............. But give full details to them with whom u had talked, and why do u want to port the number......... I also feel they are lying. So I have gone ahead to port my number to Aircel pre-paid. If they put some hurdles, I will sure take action as said by you. The reason for moving out of Airtel is 'No coverage' in my office. It is a long story. Airtel used to have perfect coverage in my office. The cell site was just 50 meters from my office. But due to dispute with the land owner, the cell site became in-active and for the past 1 and half years I have been fighting with Airtel to re-activate the tower or install new one. Just got fed up and so moving out to Aircel which has good coverage in my office. Vodafone too has good coverage in my office. RCDMA has installed a repeater free of cost in my office I tried to port out my Airtel no. which is in my company name, to Aircel pre-paid with NOC from my company. But I have received msg from Aircel stating Bharthi has rejected my request due to contractual obligation from the subscriber agreement
  8. MNP Experience

Ha ha funny things happen in life My friend also has problem in MNP. He had moved from Airtel to Vodafone. Yesterday night the change over took place. Today morning his Vodafone has started to work. But no calls from Airtel. Whenever we call him from Airtel, it says that the Airtel number is presently out of service. But calls from all other networks like Reliance, BSNL all are connecting to the Vodafone. Lets see how it gets solved.
  9. Today Airtel Territory Sales Manager came to my office and said Airtel in TN circle have launched a just Rs.11/- voucher which would make all calls to local landline at 11p per minute. The validity is also 30 days. I couldn't believe it. He showed me confirmatory SMS in his mobile. He said due to MNP this effect. He also said another voucher for Rs.53/- with 30days validity will give 1p/2sec for all local mobiles. Is MNP really starting to give benefits? Meanwhile, what are the termination charges to landline? And how can they offer 11p per minute. Can some one else also confirm this plan in TN?
  10. This voucher is available in Airtel website itself. It is 11p per minute for all local landlines Really unbelievable from Airtel
  11. The service is still pathetic. Sometimes you get it instantly and some times the next day. Also no alert for busy. Unreliable
  12. My friend was in Airtel post-paid in TN and he submitted his application to port out to Vodafone on 21st. Today he got confirmatory sms from Vodafone - 'Hello! Your porting request xxxxxxx dated 28th Jan11 has been approved by your current operator. We will communicate the porting date and time shortly'
  13. I had this same doubt and asked the TSM if it is for just one landline, but he said it is for all local landlines. Lets wait and see. Still the CC have no idea about this voucher. But Rs.53/- voucher is readily available
  14. Good one. But still we don't get Missed call alerts for busy calls. i.e if someone calls me when my phone is ringing, they get an engaged sound and there is no alert for this missed call. Airtel provides alerts for these type of missed calls also. I have often requested them to provide the above, but my requests have fallen in deaf ears.
  15. Hey I thought converting to pre-paid will be treated as new connection and one needs to wait for 90 days to port. Anyway, I will first try directly and if it doesn't succeed I shall follow your method of converting to pre and then porting. Meanwhile here in Virudhunagar also the Aircel guys don't have the forms and are asking me to wait for 2 days. Vodafone is 100% ready

  17. MNP Retention Offer You Received

They must not be expecting any port ins lol that is why they are not bothering with telling WW of process, else by now they would have been active like other operators trying to woo customers. How did the WW people react when you told them you wanted to port in did they gasp and fall off their chairs? Hip Hip Hurray RIMWEB
  18. I am trying to port without changing my account to my personal name from company. Because even if I change to my personal name Airtel is treating as a new connection and I will have to wait another 90 days Meanwhile thanks to all guys who clarified me.
  19. MNP Retention Offer You Received

For how long are they giving this scheme? This scheme is terrific, just at Re.1 per day.
  20. You will get on-net benefits even on ported no. All operators have done necessary arrangements for the same.. Also, in case of DOCOMO, you can check if any no. is part of DOCOMO or not on this link... Any confirmation on this. I still feel this is not possible
  21. Nothing mentioned anywhere that you cannot port if your connection is in company name and CUG. But when I contacted Aircel( To whom I like to port to), they also informed that you cannot port a number registered in a company. So I have to change my connection to an individual name and then I can port. Further one more doubt - If I change my connection to pre-paid, can I port immediately or should I wait for another 90 days to port?
  22. Today I was told by Airtel(TN) CC that I cannot port out my post paid number since my connection is in my company name and only individual connections are allowed to port. I kept on insisting that there is no rule such that and I said I will file a case. He then connected me to his supervisor, who told me the same and said first I can change my connection to my individual name and then I can port out. So I need to submit fresh proofs and request to change from my company name to individual name. Is it so? Can't I port out directly?
  23. I tried to port out my number from Airtel(TamilNadu). I got a reply that 'MNP is not launched in your circle'. When I contacted the CC, they said only after 5 pm they are launching!!!!
  24. All About LTE

"Larger cell size. A single LTE cell tower can cover up to 100km" So a single cell site is enough for whole of Mumbai?
