i totally agree, BUT u must have already spent more money on convienence to go up & down to the service centre. it would have saved u money & u would have had peace of mind as u would not fight with them, BUT u would also know u were cheapted. this is something that everone must decided for onesself.

its best to take it to a service centre. do u have the SID & NID? then feed them in also, it should work..but no R-World.

buy a new handsfree wire. its pretty cheap on baazee.com its definately the problem with the MIC of the handsfree. it would be less of a hassel to just go buy a new one.

yes it sometimes hangs. ive found that the only solution is to take the battery out & leave it out for approx 1min & then put it back & switch the phone ON. if it yet does not start, u will definately have to go to a service centre. also please let me know which software version do you have. if u do give it to a service centre, let me know which software version do they put. try installing virtual com ports. win98 will usually gve problems with com ports. y dont u upgrade to Xp. its simpler. http://www.virtual-serial-port.com/ http://www.edasce.com/virtual.asp http://www.gold-software.com/download1141.html theres also a very good software to tackle all com port issues on win 98. i'll just search & give u a link soon. cant remember now.

just uninstall everything.... reboot.... & install again.. 1. start running the software.. do not connect ur cable now. 2. after installing the software..u will have to reboot.. 3. after reboot...the installation automatically continues...when it asks u to connect the cable...then only do it.... r u using win XP or win 98. if u using the original cable & win xp. the installation is all automatic. i'm not sure how it works under win 98.

People Please remember... R-Connect is not CHEAP. Re.1 a min is expensive for the speeds thay are giving. You get a 256kbps dedicated cable line for your home/office for abouyt Rs.500-750 a month with a download limit per month. i only use R-Connect when i'm either in my car or in really important cases, when i cant wait to get to my computer or while travelling. Its an absolute boon while travelling within india.... Roaming is one great thing in reliance..seamless roaming..cheap roaming..net access whereever u are... r-world...same price for sms.

i have an LG V111 running on Garuda (MTNL). i've put in all the SID/NID & MMC/MNC into the phone settings & i got the reliance settings & full network, when i try to dial it say "TO REACTIVATE THE PHONE CALL RELAINCE HELPLINE" of course if will cause the ESN is not registered. does anyone have a ESN Changer for this phone? i tried using bitpim, but it does not work. if anyone does have...let me know. yes i have a data cable...but its a serial cable & my laptop does not have a serial cable, so i've connected my USB to Serial Convertor. this might affect the phone being read through bitpim??? any suggestions?

i bought an after market data cable, but it did not work. then i bought the original lg data cable from a webworld & it worked perfectly. so i'm not too sure if its worth it. i would prefer investing in a proper data cable.

there are a few more phone that are of interest to me & mostly are available in Bombay, on order. but the changing of ESN / MIN could be a problem. If u run them on MTNL's Garuda, its ok...but on Reliance is another story totally. if anyone can shed some light on the programing on these handset...let me know.. i'll buy one & see how it works. clicking on any volume button also brings the screen alive. so y have a useless button below that? it must be for something else also. meybe not in the indian version. by the way i prefer the 5130 anyday. if anyone wants to buy my 7230, let me know. i've bought it about 4-5days back & ive got the box & handsfree also.

even i just bought the phone for my factory... really good phone... basic stuff.. but clear & good basic functions.....not bad at all.. no pic of it on MTN's site... but its in the papers.. i'll try & scan a pic & post it.

u might be able to use it here on reliance, but NO R-WORLD.

also a nice & simple way is to use NERO BERNING SOFTWARE. you have an opetion for burning a XP Bootable CD.

also if u have a copy of the original FORM that you filled out, the ESN is written on that too.

do u have the original box of the phone. cause the original ESn is written on the box, usually.
