first and foremost i would suggest you upgrade to f/w version 2901h... it is a hacked firmware... the hack is only for some extra space on root so as to load up third party s/w like optware and pod. further the extensions should be extracted from the latest yamj release. download the f/w and then from within it you can get the three latest extensions btpd, unicgi and samba. put the 2901h f/w along with three extensions on the root of a pen drive. ensure u use a freshly formatted pen drive for this purpose. while holding the power button on the pohd reattach the ower cable... the light will blink... keep holding for ten seconds or so and release... ud have a fresh install of new f/w and extensions all together.

glass surfaces are known to be bad reflectors for wifi signals... glass, iron, walls... these you should essentially avoid. honestly the higher your router goes the better it covers below. i can second with posts above that open source firmware flashes greatly enhance usability of these routers... i had a great experience pairing a ddwrt with a tomato mod... deadly pair !

let me assist you... firstly, the placement of the router should be opposite. which is to say that for best connectivity, the router should have a bird's eye view of the area it needs to cover. so move it to the top floor of your house, placing it centrally. avoid placing on a glass surface or near an iron mesh etc. try this and post back your findings... nahin to aur batayenge... else call my helpline ;-p

the OS 4.5 is which carrier's... update to alltel or sprint.

and how sad is it to not be able to use these with our brands of BBs without data :-(

they will once the hype dies... when they're sure they have exhausted local markets, overseas markets would be tapped. and like stated above they would start using gen2 or gen3 of the same products... not fair !

BB might be a problem i think as the BB pin might still be registered with the originating network... just a thought !

you can also consider the mini incase you want a lower cost...

just a deterrent... i was looking to get this for my wifey... reviews online and from a couple of friends using this, revealed that with continued usage, the screen tends to start getting the impression of the buttons hence spoiling it in no time... it was a strict no no from them...

I see your questions have been answered. This was a one off special deal and is no longer available. Mini is available now with the Indian distributor so u better check with them.

@tanveer: the forum should have a how to... i am just a call away... would be glad to assist you... @HP: what you need is a good media receiver. like an onkyo receiver amp. it takes in digital input thru hdmi then gives out video hdmi output and audio can be connected any which way you want. there would be no loss of quality
