  1. HTC One Dual SIM CDMA + GSM 802D

I am using stock rom only. Can't risk my cdma connection on sim 1 since it's my official account. Have you registered for evdo? U can choose which data plan to use i.e evdo or 1x but I don't think this has anything to do with receiving sms. I checked HTC One official Facebook page and there also many people have reported this issue. Kind of surprises me since I never faced any issue. But yes I did get a new sim after buying this handset since my number was programmed earlier on DROID razr which I got cut since Reliance does not give micro sim in cdma. Truck containing 22,500 LG G2 phones goes missing The G2 phones were headed for Sprint, which is set to launch its version of the LG flagship device next month. Talk about your hot phone. A truck containing 22,500 LG G2 smartphones was stolen on the way to its destination in Louisville, Ky., CNET has learned. The phones were on their way to Sprint, which is expected to launch its version of the G2 early next month. The phones were stolen at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at a truck stop in Gary, Ind., an LG representative confirmed to CNET. The driver left the truck for a bathroom break, and upon returning, found the vehicle missing. The Indiana and Illinois state police have been contacted, as well as the FBI. The G2 is LG's flagship device, and has stood out in the market with its unique volume and power button located at the back of the smartphone, right under the camera. It's a controversial change that has met with mixed reviews. The G2, like other flagship phones such as the Galaxy S4, iPhone 5S, and HTC One, was released on multiple carriers, with Sprint among the later carriers to sell the device. http://news.cnet.com/8301-1035_3-57609405-94/truck-containing-22500-lg-g2-phones-goes-missing/%C2'>

Li-Fi to replace Wi-Fi in China? Beijing Chinese scientists have successfully developed a new cheaper way of getting connected to internet by using signals sent through light bulbs instead of radio frequencies as in 'Wi-Fi', a move expected to radically change process of online connectivity. Four computers can be connected to internet through one- watt LED bulb using light as a carrier instead of traditional radio frequencies, as in Wi-Fi, said Chi Nan, an information technology professor with Shanghai's Fudan University. Under the new discovery dubbed as 'Li-Fi', a light bulb with embedded microchips can produce data rates as fast as 150 megabits per second, which is speedier than the average broadband connection in China, said Chi, who leads a Li-Fi research team including scientists from the Shanghai Institute of Technical Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Li-Fi to replace Wi-Fi in China? Four computers can be connected to internet through one- watt LED bulb using light as a carrier instead of traditional radio frequencies. (Reuters) The term Li-Fi was coined by Harald Haas from the University of Edinburgh in the UK and refers to a type of visible light communication technology that delivers a networked, mobile, high-speed communication solution in a similar manner as Wi-Fi. With Li-Fi cost-effective as well as efficient, netizens should be excited to view 10 sample Li-Fi kits that will be on display at the China International Industry Fair that will kick off on November 5 in Shanghai. The current wireless signal transmission equipment is expensive and low in efficiency, Chi said. "As for cell phones, millions of base stations have been established around the world to strengthen the signal but most of the energy is consumed on their cooling systems," she said. "The energy utilisation rate is only 5 per cent," state-run Xinhua news agency quoted her as saying. Li-Fi was touted as a boon to China netizen community, the highest in the world with about 600 million connections. Compared with base stations, the number of light bulbs that can be used is practically limitless. Meanwhile, Chinese people are replacing the old-fashioned incandescent bulbs with LED light bulbs at a fast pace. "Wherever there is an LED light bulb, there is an Internet signal. Turn off the light and there is no signal," Chi said. However, there is still a long way to go to make Li-Fi a commercial success. "If the light is blocked, then the signal will be cut off," Chi said. More importantly, according to the scientist, the development of a series of key related pieces of technology, including light communication controls as well as microchip design and manufacturing, is still in an experimental period. no more doubts about SYGIC now. it is officially free Poor Sales In India Force Maps Provider Sygic To Release Navigation App For Free http://techcrunch.com/2013/09/23/poor-indian-sales-force-sygic-to-release-navigation-app-for-free/ App developers are struggling to make money in India because of low credit card penetration, according to Michael Stencl, CEO of maps provider Sygic, which has now dropped the $5.58 fee to download its GPS navigation app. As Indian Android owners remain reluctant to purchase apps, mapping providers are turning to features such as offline availability to compete with Google, which has grown in stature since launching turn-by-turn navigation and live traffic updates for Indian smartphone users last year. Stencl told TechCrunch it was forced to eliminate the fee for the Android version of the Sygic India: GPS Navigation app because of low daily sales in India (~$250 a day) — about a sixth of sales in the United States (>$1,500 a day). Meanwhile, Sygic’s iPhone app, which also uses data from local digital cartographer MapmyIndia, still costs a prohibitive $27.99. “Our Sygic & MapmyIndia app has been one of the most successful and top-grossing in India on Google Play, but India still has a very low penetration of credit cards, which makes it difficult to monetize there successfully,” Stencl said. ”In order to maintain a competitive marketshare, we have decided to make our app free, and wait until the market in India is more developed. “Over the past four years, Sygic has witnessed revenue growth of nearly 250%, and we feel that by continuing to invest development resources in key geographies like India, and maintaining a customer focused strategy, we will be able to extend our leadership position globally.” While Indians downloaded 150 millions apps from the Google Play store by October 2012, only 0.5 percent of customers paid to download these apps, according to a recent report called “India’s mobile internet 2013” by Avendus Capital. The average price was just over $1, and Avendus estimates the Google Play store sold about $2 million worth of apps this year. However, the report predicts that the Indian app market will grow five-fold by 2016, to be worth about $30 million. India’s credit card adoption languishes at around 20 percent, according to a 2012 HSBC report, but credit spending could pick up in the future as more cards have been issued in recent years. Sygic’s new free app also works offline, which is a useful feature in a country where the network coverage is sporadic as you move around cities and into the rural areas. TomTom recently released a local version of its Android navigation app, which costs about $30, and also works offline. It also allows users to search for a location based on a nearby landmark or point-of-interest (this is the most popular, and usually the most accurate, way to get around cities in India). So far the TomTom app has been downloaded between 10 and 50 times, compared to over 10,000 downloads for the Sygic app. It’s still a far cry from Sygic’s 30 million global downloads. The offline availability is a key differentiator from incumbent Google, which is increasingly integrating Waze’s social navigation and traffic data into the Maps apps, following the search engine giant’s recent $1 billion acquisition of the Israeli startup.

it was stupid of HTC not to launch that version here in india. anyways they are catering to cdma market also with this premium handset. We were always ignored earlier by samsung and HTC so this was a welcome change. They have stopped importing HTC One M7 thereby forcing the dual sim version to indian public. not to forget this phone is currently retailing @ 50k plus in all major stores now. taiwan gets 4.3, USA developer edition is going to get 4.3 shortly. rest should get in Oct. lets see when it reaches india.

if earlier handsets costed lesser than the latest ones, how will the company manage to sell it cheaper now? or did you mean the earlier ones costed 43550 instead? that was a typo, i realized after i posted. read it like this > thou the exchange rate wont help coz earlier ones from taiwan costed them 33500 and latest ones from china are costing them 36473 and mind you the margins are quite high, so price drop will happen sooner than later,
