    in dual sim category - cdma + gsm , the best option is motorola milestone xt 800 , its costs 19k less discounts from letsbuy. evdo 3g works awesome and for gsm it offers edge. Inbuilt data settings for CDMA - Reliance/ MTS/ Tata. I was lucky enough to get it for 17k. No other handset comes even close to it in this category. oh, ViewSonic is GSM +GSM , so its not in competition with moto.

    got the sms immediately but on submitting it for verification, it says Your session has expired! or mobile activation failed !!!! edit : final try and every thing worked.

    ok, googling says u can do that only with a rooted phone. this link explains 1 trick rooting http://www.addictivetips.com/mobile/how-to-root-android-devices-with-universal-androot-app/ it shows as working for my phone model as well but I am little scared. any repercussions of rooting ? can we unroot it back incase of any warranty issues ?

    motorola defy is an awesome phone and now u r getting Jabra Bluetooth Headset as well from letsbuy along with the phone. moto is making very good phones coupled with competitive pricing, its a steal. I dont think u will get a better phone than defy at that price. Agree there is a bad publicity for moto in the indian market but the handsets r sturdy and worth spending money on.

I got bored with my HTC Diamond and now plan to buy a new smart phone. i have shortlisted these 2 cdma phones since my service provider is Reliance Samsung Galaxy I500 or Motorola milestone xt800 The only issue is that both run on eclair and upgrade to 2.2 seems a dream to me knowing how these companies treat indian customers. Cud the wise guys here put in their inputs and clear my confusion as to which one is better and worth to buy !!!!! My requirements - Touch Android Good battery life
  17. it took me 2/3 calls to reliance care and got evdo activated. they even called me from mumbai to tell me that evdo has been activated. Just keep trying their customer care and pray u get an representatove which understands what evdo is and do take the request number. generally they say that it will be activated in 5 working days but i got within 24 hrs.

    my wife had a vodafone locked BB and later she got it unlocked to run airtel on it. Only recently she got BIS activated and its running fine. the logo and all on the handset are still vodafone.
