I have both Tata & Reliance Connection. I believe Tata is much better service provider. According to my experiences i'v come to following conclusions.... Tata I have 'Biz Silver 224 plan', Free Talktime Rs150 on any usage, Local outgoing 50p sms Rs.1 Reliance Plan 'NJ199 SOHO', Free Talktime Rs150 on only local call usage, Local outgoing 50p sms Rs.1 Conclusion Free talktime of Tata can be utilized on anything local calls/std/sms. But in Reliance free talktime can only be used for Local calls. For eg if a person don't makes calls & only sends sms then despite having free value he'll be charged for sms. Tata SMS pack Rs 50 for 3000 local/national sms (another onnet plan Rs 50 ubnlimited T 2 T sms) Reliance Rs 50 for unlimited R 2 R sms Conclusion I just don't understand what good is onnet sms plan if u don't have a big friend circle using same operator ? But when i take a look at my phonebook, not even 5% of it has Reliance numbers. So, in general Tata pack is much better. Tata Onnet Packs Costs Rs 75 & Rs 99 Unlimited calls. Reliance Onnet plan Ranges from Rs100 to Rs225 Only 1000min free 10p/min thereafter. Conclusion On my plan for Tata i just have to pay Rs75 fro onnet pack whereas for my Reliance plan i have to pay Rs175. So again Tata has an edge. Tata Another add on pack i have is for STD. STD calls to any phone & incoming Roaming at Re.1/min Monthly Rental - Rs.100 Reliance Std vouchers available. Conclusion One of the reason why i prefer postpaid plans is that i dont have to run to buy vouchers to retain talktime. Although Rel vouchers are bit cheaper but in my case i find tata cheap fro std (my std usage is 500min/month rs100 rental for pack= .20p/min. So Std call /min = 1.20p) but addon benefit is Rs1 for incoming calls on roaming, which also saves a lot of money. Tata Many add on packs available for your requirement like STD pack, SMS pack, 50p call pack, CUG pack Reliance No add on packs available except onnet calls/sms plan Conclusion In Reliance, u have to get your plan changed if u want any particular feature. So its difficult to have two good features on one plan for eg. u cant have 50p local + 50p/sms + Rs1 std in one plan. If u have a Tata u can have any type of add on pack on your existing plan. I have observed that Tata's cc is more cooperative than Rel Tata's bills are more honest. Every month on my Rel bill there is some element which i don't understand. Tata has very less palns on their website which are more easy to understand & less confusing. There are no hidden plans offered to specific areas or people. Moreover all plans are available throughout nation, there are no regional plans. But Reliance have regional plans & they provide cheap rates in heavy competition areas but in less competition areas they have high rates.(another business strategy for earning more money) Well friends before u post any comments on my conclusions, i would like to tell u that as I have both Tata & Reliance Connection so above conclusions are only based on my my observations & conclusions according to my experiences. well anyhow i believe that online stores are only good fro comparing features & to know market price. But u can get handsets at cheaper prices from your local dealers.

hi, i m an avid visitor of rimweb.in & i log on this forum around 4-5 times a day. From past two days i m observing that betwen 10pm to 11pm some new members posts threads which contains unsolicited & unpermissble materials. for eg. on 17feb around 10:30pm someone posted a link to warez site which contained pirated & porn stuff. The link also tries to push some malware into your system. Thanx to my Antivirus ! Even today(18feb) at the same time some new member called 'artinstituteo' posted a thread which contained links to art institutes, moreover those links were fake & direct u to some other site. when i checked the profile of the member it did not contaied any information except a username. Although both the days those threads were deleted within minutes but still i request the administrators to make sure that such incidents do not take place. This is a very informative forum & we require more members to exchange knowledge. But some steps should be taken to check the authenticity of the new members & make sure only genuine members join the forum. Regards

Hey Jonny, if u r planning to invest 10k, then increase your bubget a bit & go for nokia6275 as this is the most advanced & feature rich phone available in cdma. You'll never regret buying it for years as all required feature are available in this phone. If u buy any other handset u'll surely be deprived of some important feature.

I feel that Tata will surely meet its target as Tata has the best plans to offer. They have the cheapest onnet packs (ranging from rs 75 to rs 150 for unlimited calls), very cheap sms package (rs 50 for 3000 sms local or national). cheap std plan (rs 1 for std & incoming on roaming, 100 rs package). Moreover these packages can be taken on any plan. No other service provider (gsm or cdma) is offering such cheap & flexible plans. The only thing tata needs to do is to improve their network at some places.

Moto zazr is really cutting edge. the only thing that bothers me is the unavailability of ruim in such a high-end phone.

ya gsm variant of motofone was launched in november, its cdma version was expected in december which has been launched now.

Well, today i went to tata dealer to confirm prices. The dealer says these handsets are only available with new connections right now. Motofone f3c -> it is very beautifully designed phone, very slim, looks more like those MOtoSlim (L6, L7) phones. But the display is very different, i\'v never seen such a display on any mobile, calculator or elec device. Its some new display technology called \'Electronic Paper Display. The display is like a white background & the digits appeared on it looks more as seen on calculators. Anyways the phone is worth buying. It is priced Rs 2200/- (inclusice of 100/- ruim, 500/- security deposit) Radio Moto W210-> it also looks great (but not as good as motofone) but somewhere u get those plastic looks. Still it looks much better than many other handsets. Good features, nice colours. It is priced Rs 3100/- (inclusice of 100/- ruim, 500/- security deposit) The third handset (Radio Moto W170) was not available, the only difference between this handset & w210(color) is of screen (w170 has mono screen but same features as w210) So, i assume that it would be priced somewhere around Rs2500/- (with connection) I found w210 much better than Lg 3470.

Dear friends, i do agree that RCL is not offering anything special. i m only using Rel just because of 50p call rate & free unlimited calls in my cug. The day my call rate & features on my connectin change i'll get rid of my connection. But on the other hand despite many good features & benefits, what GSM is offering is not also too good. There's always some element hidden in their plans which will surely make a hole in your pocket. for eg. a friend of mine opted for lifetime incoming plan on Idea, the outgoing call rate is Rs. 1.75/- & according to plan guidelines he cannot take any add-on package to reduce call rate. So, in an era when people are paying just .50p per call, it's really very expensive to pay 1.75/-. Moreover, among all my friends using GSM, no one has call rate as low as .50p , & if anyone have, the fixed monthly rental is as high as Rs 400. So, in a nutshell, GSM operaters are too intrested in only extracting money out of consumers pocket, but if CDMA prices rises to equalize with GSM , then it is worth shifting to gsm & dump your cdma connections & operators in some blackhole

According to tata cc & website, Indicom has completely withdrawn 'free incoming on roaming' feature from 15feb. Intially tata used to provide an add-on feature in which on can avail facility of receiving free unlimited incoming calls on roaming just by paying Rs. 150/- per month. Just because of this fabulus feature many people bought indicom. Later this feature was regulated to free incoming on roam for 750 min for a rental of Rs 100/- Now after changes in TRAI guidelines on roming rentals, this feature has been completely withdrawn & no such feature of free incoming on roaming exist now. TRAI issued strict guidelines to reduce roaming rentals just to benefit consumers but it seems that service providers are using the loopholes in the guidelines to fool both TRAI & consumers. The consumer is somehow made to pay more.

what good is 640*480 (0.3megapix) resolutin vga camera in 6235 ? 128*128 pix screen resolution. It does'nt have expandable memory neither mp3 player. Instead of shedding 8k on such a set i should rather recommend to spend some more & buy 6275 for 11k which is far more practical & futurastic handset. or u should invest in some low end handset. 6235 would be considered value for money if its priced between 5-6k. I believe its overpriced.

i went to tata in Delhi & they told me 6275 is for 12,000 without Ruim

The query in this topic is becoming more complicated everyday & i m not able to find any sure shot solution. I planned to buy a LG3470 from reliance (which is ruim based) & use it with both Reliance & Tata. So First i went to Rel Webworld & confirmed about the prices. Then i went to Tata indicom & asked them weather i can use it with a tata ruim ? but i was told that chances are that it might work but most probably it wont work. Then i thought the only place where i can find the solution is LG's service centre which is authorized by both tata & rel. So i went there & asked my query, they told me that earlier lg was only selling non ruim sets. The first ruim set from lg is 3470 which has recently launched & they have'nt seen it yet & did'nt got a chance to experiment. so they exactly dont know. So, finally i returned without any solution. I dont understand why this is becoming so complicated, it's such a simple thing. why can't a cdma handset be used with other operator just like we can do in gsm ?
