There is an issue with OMH sets, like Samsung POP. We have been creating a connection with phone number as userid & passwd & selecting it. Using internet charges are RMW PPP and not 60p/min, even activating Rs 5/- plan doesn't help. any info on that please anil

I have a old Mogul, which is lying unused since long. The issue is calls drop just after connecting. I stopped using this, though still paying the monthly minimum bills ( Its a Post paid). Now I again want to start using it as a Navigator for driving, a wifi router for connecting it to laptop. This was a second hand purchase, buyer bought it from Saddik long back & I bought it from him. I under stand there is a issue related to Akey, but not able to do any thing. Please help anil

I also have a glaxy POP CDMA. I also activated the plan by sending the SMS. Created a new APN EVDO giving user ID & Password as MDN. Selected it. After using it, in 10 min my core balance got reduced by Rs 50/- (may be data usage was around 5md so 5x10 of rworld=50). The 50 MB shown remains as it is. Can any one give the correct settings for POP CDMA so that this plan can be used thanks in advance anil

We have already stopped using 3 RIM Numbers & have shifted to BSNL, Airtel etc due to high data charges. Those phones & numbers are just lying. It a good data plan comes back, we way again start using those numbers.

Friends I have a bsnl evdo zte ac8700 (mg 478), it has been provided to me by my office. At Kolkata there is no evdo by BSNL, with CDMA 1x it is very slow. I can still use the modem on EVDO, when I travel to EVDO locations. I am able to unl*ck the modem also set to "R-uim if available". When I put a reliance sim in it, it is able to read it, but doen't connect to reliance network. The network connected still remains BSNL.(may be because it still has BSNL PRL) I would like to use the modem either with BSNL(where evdo is available) or to reliance (where EVDO is not available). I donot want to disturb the modem setting as I have to use it on BSNL also. It is possible to use this modem on BSNL when there is not RUIM inserted and with Reliance when a RUIM is inserted. pl help anil

Dhiraj You can try WRT54G or WAP54G (hope numbers are right one is router, another is access point) & place it at a location where it will get the signal from wifi router & connect. It will again repeat the signal, which you can use at other locations, where the signal is not available from main router. In case of WRT54G( router) you don't have option for repeating signal but in WAP54G ( access point) you have option for repeating signal. You can flash you second router with DD-WRT & there are so many options.It also has option to scan any open networks & latch on that. You can increase the signal strength also. Due to external antenna,It can connect to weaker signals also, to which a laptop can't connect. Its mobile you can move it with ease as no cables are attached. I had a old WRT54G, flashed it with DD-WRT & using it at my house since long & works perfectly In repeater mode you save trouble of cabling between two routers. Easiest way is to put it in a unlocked data card(if you have) & read using CDMA workshop.

most of the modems have 2 ports. one for USB & other for normal lan cable

I love Linnksys for this.I managed a old WRT . Flashed it with open source firmware DD-WRT. I can change the range. use it as repeater. use it to connect networks without cable..... & so on.

it can be done with bluetooth also with incoming connection or lan sharing. It is a trial & error method. Different bluetooth have different options. In some there are option to share lan. In some You have to activate the sharing of your broadband connection. I used it in past to connect my lapi to internet. Later I bought a WIFI router. The pc is to be used as server & lapi has to establish the connection.

I tried I today by changing E*S & M*N it did not work with 1x prl.
