'Ask Arun' would have been a better thing to do...

CC is useless and not able to handle more than general queries... whenever you talk take their names down and wish to speak to their superiors.. and it will certainly help if you speak confidently, dont show gentle nature there.... and yes complaint number is also required to be kept for record...

if the warranty is over then i dont think the service center will even touch it without the service charge.. he may repair it but not free of cost and replacement is out of question..

good choice to make..

supernova can certainly offer it.. this was available some time back for everybody. even a marketing person offered me the same thing..but that time i did not require.. supernova must be having some stock of those... but frankly you don't need to doubt him.

Remote Control Of Computers.
copperco2 replied to santhoshavanoor's topic in General Technical Discussion
its good and possible. but the idea is better for home security point of view.. to make others feel that people are there in the house. so in effect what you will be administering remotely is the switching on/ off fan..lights and things.. even CCTV. It does not seem so good to download programs/ software and connect to internet... from wherever you are, you will conect using the internet..right. then whats the use.. basically the whole concept is based on internet and the said computer will have to have continuous internet connectivity... for you to log in to it and make changes/ fiddle around. Hackers can also hack in such a way... -
you can either use circuitcity to buy but then they do not provide delievery outside US and allied.. you can also buy from toshiba's online store and i guess they do provide the delivery in India..otherwise get in touch with HCL. Toshiba is in tie up with HCL in India.

12 hour battery life has been stated in one of the news briefings.. is it for real guys?!!!!1 For the people Author: Sunayana Suresh and Raisa Simula Date: 10 Jan 2008 In a dream to make India a laptop nation, ACi launched a laptop that costs Rs 15,000 Chote Ustaad: Hirji Patel of ACi works on the newly launched 950 gms-weighing diary-sized laptop In a country where buying a computer is still considered a luxury, Allied Computers International have come up with a great gif this New Year. ACI has launched India’s first laptop for Rs 15,000. The 7-inch TFT screen with a built-in web camera might be too small for tasks like picture processing, but the standard model is aimed at the users with very basic needs. For more demanding customers, the company is planning a high-end version of the same with Windows Vista capability. The price for this will range from Rs 25,000 to 30,000. The basic model might sound romantic for an Indian customer, but the fact is that this diary-sized wonder comes with quite some strings attached. This computer cannot run a Windows OS, and hence you need pay for getting Linux uploaded on to this system. Thus, taxes included, the laptop will actually cost above Rs 21,000. The laptop will have a 1 GHz CPU, 40GB hard disk, Bluetooth and WiFi capabilities and will weigh just 950 grams. Considering the fact that the pricing, eventually, might not be that less, there may not be as many takers as expected for this product. The mobile way Laptop sizes as well as prices have gone down fast. In the year 2004, ACi has always been a pioneer in the laptop market, reducing the costs to Rs 30,000 in 2004, to Rs 15,000 now. “The laptop industry is developing in the same way as the cell phone industry has developed, people want them to be smaller and cheaper,” commented Patel. He estimates laptops becoming even cheaper in the future. “People today want everything small in size, and they want their laptops like that too. They don’t want to carry a case for a laptop and a different case for papers,” Patel explained. The new mini laptop is light, only 950 grams, and it should fit easily even in to a women’s large purse. TV turns into a PC? One of the mini laptop’s weaknesses is the small screen, and this is acknowledged in the ACi, too. Buthow could a tiny laptop be combined with a big, PC screen? Here’s the answer. “First we hit the Indian market with low-cost LCD televisions. Next, we plan to launch a LCD TV with a built-in PC. Finally, we will introduce a docking system for the laptop to be attached to the TV,” said Patel. This means, that one can insert the mini-laptop to the TV like a videocassette to the VCR and operate one’s computer using the large screen. It could take years for this to happen, since the docking system doesn’t exist yet. http://www.mid-day.com/web/guest/lifeatwor...XT_5_groupId=14 tone of this mid-day article is so negative... i dont understand why.. will the taxes add up so much to make it dearer by 5-6000/-? and more importantly..in many news sites the ram is given as 1GB and in others as 512MB.. whats the real deal going to be? Another one $75 Laptop http://www.techshout.com/hardware/2008/12/...ng-a-75-laptop/ Review of eeepc- http://ap.google.com/article/ALeqM5gTQII2P...o9xfqwD8U362QO1

Aci computer is also running on XP . 1Ghz processor is sufficient for XP pro. Many UMPC models uses Vista as OS (not sure which version ). ACi mentions XP Home and Vista Basic. The basic model Via C7M 1.0GHz starts at Rs.14999/- taxes additional i believe I guess if the screen size can be extended to fit the lead size then it will be more attractive ofcourse at the same price.. and yes dd i mention more then 1.0GHz and yes more hard disk and yes.....
