I have got a triband connection at my home. I have been surfing nearly all day, with some intervals. Now the thing is that my logs are maintained by the ISP (MTNL). I noticed that my logs in the day at the time, google WA was active have not been recorded. It is beneficial for me. but is this the real thing (google says it accelerates the web page loading by proxy settings(!) and pre fetching and all..). or is an illusion for me. guys pl. help, if you have any idea.. Also what about the Intranet Settings. MAny times i fill in the user name and password in some of the other forums and it repeatedly kept asking me for the same as well as the message bar woule appear telling me abt the default intranet settings bing off.. right now i have enabled the intranet settings, which has solved the problem. i.e. i get logged in the forums and it takes considerably less time to load the page thru the Google Web Accelerator. Cn anybody pl. elaborate..

@copperco2 My dear friend the USB card from TATA which comes at the price of Rs.2850/- does not support voice calls. Thats why its the cheapest. Actually TATA has three different kind of DATA cards. One works with PCMCIA slot for LAPTOPS. Another just like Reliance's USB data modem which comes at nearly 4000/-. And the last which comes at Rs.2850/- doesn't support the Voice calls. You can surf the internet and only can send and receive SMS through this. Regards. that is the only thing i will be loking forward to.. i.e.data. can i use ruim with this thing? i mean can this thing when purchased be made to work on reliance network?

It is simply not done. the handset boasts of music nd movie and not business features. it is a I pod and also a phone. Well copperco2 even NOKIA N73 or any Nseries phone is fashion and music phone but still allows u to do anything u want, like word,xls, ppt and what not, I hate Iphone the most. ruim card costs around rs.15 something. but you need to get it activated so..total cost will depend on your choice of gsk

it is the phenomena of call drops.. if somebody is calling you he will hear the caller tune just once and then stop because the connection is lost. and it takes just a bit of time for the call to register on your handset, so effectively the guy/gal calling you thinks tht you have disconnected the call. it happens with me everyday. and yes the nokia handsets generally show full signal strength but still calls are dropped/ signal not strong. it seems to be the hadset/ company specific problem. 2112 nokia was excellent for this, never showed weak signals... for your convenience carry a gsm connection with you and forward the calls on that handset.

finally i got it. i was searching for similar problem. a better thing to be used for internet. anybody got an idea? usb modem like the one introduced by tata indiacom for approx 2000/- with ruim.. or data pc.. card or ? come on guys...

signal booster for mobile phones are available, not so sure about your problem. then again these bossters are fixed at one place, so again!

i guess there is some market called khan market then there is canaught place, the underground market.. have you tried these places sometime. i dont exactly remember the name of the market is 'khan market' but it is something like that and a good place to source as well as R&D on the handsets.

Airtel data card for approx 5000/- gives unlimited data transfer at 999/- per month reliance netconnect usb modem, data card for 4100/- or 4200/- gives unlimited data transfer at 1500/- per month hutch for approx. 5000/- gives data transfer for and how much? tata indicom for 4100/- or is it 2850/- data transfer 1.5gb for approx 900/- month if i am missing on any facts, do let me know. also which will be the better option..!

so i can get the data card and then use it here.. i wont care much abt the voice. but what will be the speed here.. is it more than the reliance? or equivalent to it and of other operators?

this is because google cache all the page visited by users that is the secret of GWA right. now that i ahve enabled the intanet settings. but with these particular forums if i use GWA then i dont get an entry into them. cause it again and again keeps asking me for y login. if i turn it off then i can enter without any probs...!!!!!!!!!!!
