it is better to go to lg service center and get to know the cause of battery drain. if it is a faulty battery then i guess you will get a new battery for approx600/- and if it is the charger fault then you can get the charger for abut 150/- if you keep looout then you will get new hansets..selected few for as less as rs7-800/- ofcours with a postpaid plan. that you can deactivate later and transfer your old number..

there i guess was some seller on indiatimes/redff offering krome handsets.. have u checked them out? and if you do not find anybody ..try reaching them thru their website.. send a mail and ask for it. u tried redington...right. if they do not provide the service still they will have some info on where the company has other offices/ centre/ workshops etc.. if you know what is the battery/ charger specification.. get one that will fit it.. that is never a problem. ask for a local expert in any mobile shop.

may be they test it so long that by the time they are to launch it.. because of the technological upgradation.. these handsets are then priced low. thus better offtake. this could be a reason. but all the same the handset is damn hot...

thanks for nirvana, kunal. other one is good too. -
the speed problem is mainly because of the congestion at the network due to the heavy traffic at that particular time. the timings in the day have been classified as peak hour and in the night as off peak hrs and that is the reason to increase the traffic in the night..spl. rates apply. @rajeevjee i agree with him when he says when thee are less users in the initial days the spectrum/ bandwidth utilised is less so better connectivity and better speed is there. as users increase the spectrum/ bandwidth utilised does not grow proportionately so prob. @supernove why dont you take that software out and post it on one of the data sharing sites it will be really cost effective for you... guys...

R World i guess has menus and applications targetting specifically to particullar handsets as not all handsets are so technologically so advanced to avail of all the functions for e.g. earlier lg handsets were not able to see the voice ringtones... only sansung had that facility or lg5130 not being able to save the ringtones etc... bt the nature of the problem faced 'Unable to conect R World' is basically related to connectivity as the network may be is getting updated or just may be the voice or data traffic is toooo much to handle for the systems at backend. guys..

well.. i am receiving email from UTI abt various stocks to pick and all. it is spam as i have not subscribed to it. but is it really as all it tends to do is recommed something and not coax me to buy them. like those rzmails@ndiatimes.com. so what exactly constitutes a spam? there is i guess a cell in mumbai police on cyber crimes.. they shoule have something on 'what exactly is termed as spam?' can anybody have any info on that... guys...
-
bt then.. cant we say that 'this is just for your information and unless you visit us and wish to be contacted again you will not be contacted'. I am not trying to indulge in a scam by asking anybody to buy something like viagra, or help me get my hands on any inheritence.. so i guess an honest effort to spread a good word should not be treated as spam.

thanks vishal.. i just picked up the article on rediff and have posted the link too..

its totally true. the excel file should only be updated by one person and those who have some considerable posts/ contribution to the forum should be alowed to share their numbers.. this will keep the numbers from over inflating. and yes it will give easy access to ppl. who are looking for a bulk of contact details/ for marketing and spamming with unnecessary deals.

"Vista activation can be bypassed" INDIATIMES NEWS NETWORK[ FRIDAY, MARCH 16, 2007 05:23:33 PM] Windows Vista can be run for at least a year without being activated, according to Windows expert Brian Livingston. A single change to Vista's registry lets users put off the operating system's product activation requirement by an additional eight times, according to Livingston, who publishes the Windows Secret newsletter. This is five times over the three disclosed last month by him. In an article, Livingston had revealed earlier that a one-line command lets users postpone Vista activation by up to three times. Since Vista comes with initial 30-day grace period. An extension of additional three times means that users could run Vista for as long as 120 days before they are required to activate the OS. According to him, the one-line command can enable even novices postpone the product's activation deadline. In fact, Livingston said, with more research it may even be possible to find a way to postpone activation indefinitely. Though Microsoft had seemingly stayed unconcerned by Livingston's last month disclosure and flatly stated that using it would not violate the Vista End User License Agreement (EULA), this time the company has labeled the registry change as a "hack." However, Livingston refutes the "hack" charge, saying, "This isn't a hacker exploit. It doesn't require any tools or utilities whatsoever." He also cites that Microsoft has even documented the Registry key, although obtusely, on its Technet site. http://infotech.indiatimes.com/Vista_activ...how/1772179.cms guys i hope its relevent Here's a step-by-step guide into Livingston's finding: Step 1: While running a copy of Windows Vista that hasn't yet been activated, click the Start button, type regedit into the Search box, then press Enter to launch the Registry Editor. Step 2: Explore down to the following Registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows NT \ CurrentVersion \ SL Step 3 : Right-click the Registry key named SkipRearm and click Edit. The default is a Dword (a double word or 4 bytes) with a hex value of 00000000. Change this value to any positive integer, such as 00000001, save the change, and close the Registry Editor. Step 4: Start a command prompt with administrative rights. The fastest way to do this is to click the Start button, enter cmd in the Search box, then press Ctrl+Shift+Enter. If you're asked for a network username and password, provide the ones that log you into your domain. You may be asked to approve a User Account Control prompt and to provide an administrator password. Step 5: Type one of the following two commands and press Enter:slmgr –rearm or rundll32 slc.dll,SLReArmWindows Either command uses Vista's built-in Software Licensing Manager (SLMGR) to push the activation deadline out to 30 days after the command is run. Changing SkipRearm from 0 to 1 allows SLMGR to do this an indefinite number of times. Running either command initializes the value of SkipRearm back to 0. Step 6: Reboot the PC to make the postponement take effect. (After you log in, if you like, you can open a command prompt and run the command slmgr -xpr to see Vista's new expiration date and time.) Step 7: To extend the activation deadline of Vista indefinitely, repeat steps 1 through 6 as necessary. Livingston's also got a caveat for the prospective Vista buyers, "If you happen to buy a Vista PC from a little-known seller, and the price was too good to be true, use Vista's search function to look for the string SkipRearm in files. You may discover that your "bargain" computer will mysteriously start demanding activation in a year or two — but your product key won't be valid."
