In trying to get Reliance data services running on Samsung Fascinate I've come across apn settings. I guess this is the way to go about it to enable net access. I need help in filling out the fields apn name="" numeric=" " mcc=" " mnc=" " apn=" " user=" " server="*" password=" " proxy="null" port="null" mmsproxy="null" mmsport="null" mmsprotocol="null" mmsc=" " type="null"

Thanks Dhiraj for the link. Just like to add that Samsung Fascinate contains no menu selection for APN settings. I'm using adb to pull /system/etc/apns-conf.xml editing it and pushing it back. For instance i need to replace authentication with auth="1" Proper format is necessary for this to work. still no success. Can some one post their working internet reliance apns-conf.xml file Edit: I've edited the apns-config.xml using apnbackuprestore rebooted with the following values and still no internet name="Rnet" numeric="00000" mcc="405" mnc="13" apn="rcomnet" user="null" server="null" password="null" proxy="null" port="null" mmsproxy="null" mmsport="null" mmsprotocol="null" mmsc="null" type="default"

This handset was available for Rs.5600 locally a week ago Due to government's hike in tax from 4% to 12.5% on the mobile store charged Rs.5800 now. After playing with the handset for a day a few observations on Reliance Network - no data card with new handset - signal strength is full inside the house whereas my previous handset nokia 6275 had half of the Samsung - as mentioned by other owners sound quality is excellent with the included headphones - jpg photos shot by Nokia 6275 failed to open in this handset even 150kb ones - unable to transfer files from Win Explorer to data card in the PC Studio mode - but able to transfer files from Win Explorer to data card in Mass Storage mode - sms alert tone cannot be set beyond the 4 provided with the handset - no delay setting in keypad lock function. but seems adequately fixed. - usb charging - R world through the WAP browser - not tried this but games & apps can be downloaded from RWorld Mobile Shop - ability to recognise phone number in sms for adding to phonebook - upto 10 reject phone number list - spam settings Overall nice experience

EVDO is just an extension of CDMA so operators can just combine existing spectrum slots and offer higher bandwidth on their already invested networks. reliance should've offered EVDO long time back. I dont know why they waited so long. wimax on other hand is based on ofdm principle and requires a totally different rf end. its more interference resistant than CDMA. superb for dense urban environments. ideally 70Mbps up and down. Practically 10Mbps at 10km. with an established base reliance should've more advantage than tata wimax. We are getting there gradually...

Does anyone has realtime clock screensaver for nokia 6275 ?? since this phone does not support shockwave format is it possible to use animated GIF for realtime clock display??

do you know how much it cost? its free for a single phone use... though it adds "sent by smscaster" to the outgoing message...

i agree that the navigation key is clumsy... phone hangs only when i try to do 2 many things in succession. this happens more with a custom theme applied which is heavy on the graphics side... using default nokia themes speeds up navigation... i've never experienced restarts with this handset... restarts were a regular feature of the LG RD7130... i don't know if it ever was resolved... i sold off my handset ultimately for peanuts...

people who need to sync mobile inbox to pc may try smscaster from www.smscaster.com It supports 6275 & other CDMA models..... Be sure to download the CDMA version of the software... Blanks in sms are treated as end of sms so be sure to check smscaster inbox before deleting mobile inbox.... MOD Ganesh's method is safer...

its both class 1 & class 2 at close range & 12 feet away speed transfer = 80 KBps (no change with LOS) when a thick book placed (LOS obstacle) speed drops by approx 9 KBps at 12 feet.... at 30 feet next room with concrete wall in between speed is 34KBps... it takes around 10 seconds to synchronise though before transfer initiation...

i've bought x-micro bluetooth v2.0 usb 2.0 dongle for 900Rs 2 weeks ago... when the signal is the strongest (close distance) a throughput of 80kpbs max is achievable with 6275

this phone has no support for .swf format it cannot display custom real mode clock for some themes. A very big disadvantage in my opinion.

just bought a nokia 6275. kept it charging for 3 hours after a complete discharge. indicator does not show charge cycle completion. just keeps on charging. does this indicate a defect ?? wondering if anyone had a similar problem before?? battery is authentic according to www.nokiaoriginals.com/check instructions and online verification.

perfect reception with included headset HS-31. slight hissing but hardly noticeable. FM signal degrades easily in dense urban environment.

bas button dabao... jaib khali karo... i didn't know it was charged !!! let alone the waiting period for the message to open !!! On other note during the last general elections all of my friends who had reliance connections kept receiving political parties campaigning sms from private reliance numbers... nearly 3 to 4 sms per day... i wonder where campaigners got mobile numbers from ?? i'd already hidden my number in reliance phone directory options... so all these options are just for temporary satisfactions...

even user's guide doesn't say anything about brightness or contrast settings... mentioned in official features list though...

at last 6 hours of charging halted handset charging indicator. nokia care engineer was right. i'm relieved thanx to all who contributed their valuable suggestions.
