I think u playing around with handset while its on charging, New batteries takes lil extra time thn usually it takes to complete charge. i've visited nokia care today. engineer informs me that the particular handset battery BL-6C requires 6 hours of initial charge. IMO its high but i'll give it a try. if the problem lies with mobile firmware it is sent to Delhi for further analysis. 40 days of blackout. Replacement is possible within 48 hours if the handset is bought from Nokia Priority Dealer (NPD). too bad the handset wasn't bought from NPD

stocks ran dry nearly everywhere. no silver handsets were to be found anywhere. even nokia priority dealers are charging 11800Rs as of today. read the forums earlier but no one willing to bargain on this handset as it was in great demand here. i would've spent 200Rs worth petrol anyway hunting for a good bargain. BTW got my phonebook transferred too. Nokia box had reliance mobile logo on it so there you go...

prices quoted here are low compared to official reliance price. webworlds stocks ran dry as on Saturday 27th in nagpur. no promises were given for availibillity. instead went to a popular mobile shop in nagpur quote was 12,000Rs. showed him sms from reliance and got the handset for 11,750. Nokia Box MRP 14,139 (inc of taxes) month of manufacture Dec 2006 Maharashtra still charges octroi. Some Indian States have abolished it including Karnataka. Price differences among State is sure to crop up. Overall i'm pleased with the handset.
