  1. Who Offers Fastest Net Connectivity?

man i also used reliance rconnect i never got these kind of speeds even @ night by the way :---------- i use mtnl dial up speeds upto 5 - 6 @ 700 / month + taxes with unlimited downloads. ok for me until i get better speeds than this with unlimited downloads .
  2. japan has done it , UK has done it so y shouldnt we also follow the chain.
  3. dudes this should be the technology opted by reliance if it need to win the battle fully!!!! once it has been installed there would be a much much less installation and mentaince costs & one of the main reasons y netway is being delayed will be no more a problem "last mile connectivity". think about it if reliance is himself the operator as well as distributor of the services on overall basis this would be a better option like i'm staying in kandiwali (e) now !! there is practically no way for a internet connection @ my home. except for some ~!@!@@#$#$% isp's that are there here. with wireless technology this problem would be eliminated for lakhs of geniune customers like me. what say isint it worth investing in the future of technologies or old "broadband bharat" & since we are starting it so we do have the advantage to start from the best avilible technology
  4. Guys what do u think is it possible to remove the concept of removing last mile wired link all the way. What I mean is make the netway wireless totally. One can put up if physically feasible, wireless data receiving towers @ many places for communication and some kind of wireless device is given to consumers. (Like say fwt). And we can access the netway service without conflicts of ne other operators n barrier of last mile connectivity is eliminated and so managing becomes more convenient Like a "wi-fi nation" (lol better than Broadband Bharat) may be a little expensive option but best option in overall scale according to me. and if reliance the offers these kind of services for cheap and with a excellent services & customer care which it already has may be reliance will get it without the help of mso's and last mile operators. it could be just similar to wi-fi or better than that but on a broader scale. What do you think??? Radical isnt it the only two things that would according to me could in the way would be. 1) air space 2) limitations of transfering bandwidth through air (i thinks that much more than the speeds which we get on internet these days so that wont be much of a problem )
  5. linuxguy its a strait cut logic that transfering bandwidth from PLACE A TO PLACE B (which are few hundreds of km's apart) is cheaper and easy than transfering bandwidth from PLACE C TO PLACE D (which are thousands of km's apart) i dint say its impossible i said its a MORE diffcult and expencive than implementing the same in US
  6. it 100% means good speeds but a download limit now reliance NETWAY is our only way out for unlimilted data transfer with good speeds with this i think if reliance comes up with something good then other isps also will cut off price's its just a matter of time. by the way guys call up reliance netway customer care n register ur name over there for a netway connection as soon as it launches in your area may be u get a prefrence in installing it. i have done my homework now its ur time , looking @ bsnl's POA i dont think it would be worth @least for me taking bsnl broadband
  7. in case of bsnl what i last knew was it was first gonna lauch in gujrat. lauching in mumbai is new to me
  8. you dint actully get what i wanted to say 1) for a higher number of people greater the bandwidth we require ( relation is in direct proportion) 2) the greater the bandwidth the greater its costs of installing undersea cables and stuff (comparitively it not technically) 3) so its a difficult and a expencive option for one to get so much bandwidth. 4) Though the point if the physical proximity of the servers in certian place the costs of high bandwidth is lowred further. 5) many of the servers are hosted in (US). so they have the added advantage of having lowers costs of bandwidth with super fast speeds 6) while i have rarely seen ne servers hosted in india. (reliance is the first data center i have seen in india i dont know if there was ne1 before that or still there)
  9. right said linuxguy but what i ment was that being so far from the servers (USA) and having a good and enough bandwidth for a population like india or china is a very very expensive option . but not a impossible one and very diffcult to attain.
  10. increase in bandwidth for consumers is v diffcult until & unless they (ppl from UK AND US need bandwidth frm us). @ this point of time we need to connect to them for eveything it seem internet's home is in US AND UK, and we are clients. they are server's. so now we have to spend money to connect to them. if the sutitution improves n we prove to be the servers n they clients they have to connect to us not us to them. costs of laying undersea cable's is v v v high which is y the bandwidth is high. cost of having a 0c-x series cables in india are very high may be in multiple crores / month. u can get a hint here http://www.relianceinfo.com/Infocomm/Broad...tariffplan.html this connection is not even close to oc-x series. and in US the cost is very less compared to india. number1 reason bethind this is that they dont need undersea cables to connect much. most of their bandwidth start & end in US only. whereas ours start in india and most of the bandwidth ends in western countries. these our my views , need some comments
  11. things are getting better but not @ required speeds !! china which was way behind us is now far ahead of us. have to gain much more momentum.
  12. Hi-speed Internet Cable @ Rs 250/month

good offer but download limit not worth. can download this much in say 1 days time. rest month i'll have to sit ideal . good for irregular users who log in for few hrs a month n want surfing speeds.
  13. right said biosbhai , true true. this is with mtnl which offers adsl but bandwidth limit tata indicom offers good speeds personally seen 50 KBps which is (400 kbps) during peak hours also but download limit and many many others
  14. Speed Expectations

rates would be around 500 to 1500 as the ppl in the forum are saying. i dont know much abour it. but its for sure that reliance is launching this service for household users so it would be v stupid to keep the rates very high keeping in mind that most ppl in india consider the rates first then the service. dude try acessing a playing movie from a simple lan it works. & here we are talking about super fast servers, gigabit lancard (network infrastructure), optical fiber cables, n other network technnologies. try acessing news from normal r world a service provided with reliance india mobiles it works fine. and if works fine with wireless here with lastmile connectivily (wireline sevice) one can garantee better and cheaper communication's (as far as i know ) so i dont think there would be ne kind of problems with other services other than internet connection . gotta wait and know what reliance is offering in that space. dude let the competition come in broadband space also... then we can see the real deduction in rates & real increase in speeds n services. its just reliance thats truly comming up in this sector now.. i think it will be like mobile revolution that reliance created in india. first reliance entred with cdma n cheap rates then others also had to lower down their rates n improve their services to survive the compitition the same would be for boradband services
  15. Speed Expectations

internet bandwidth would be around 256 kbps which is 4 times faster than the dialup mtnl which i'm using currently mr ambani i want to be the first coustomer to use this service 256 kbps is what i'm craving for.
  16. ppl reliance is not wrong @ its path. it says it will giv 1mbps it means it. but there are few catches 1) 1mbps (mega BITS per second) = 128 (mega BYTES per second). which is 1 mbps / 8 = 128 MBps 2) it would giv that speed for internal consumption like video on demand, audio on demand , cable tv , etc etc etc which by the way dont need external (international bandwidth) only local infrastructure should be good. which of reliance is the best in india and one of the best in the world. 3) i have been tracking NETWAY® since 6 months ( as far as i remember n i came to know that its @ par with some italy's biggest isp n cable service provider (whose service is ranked amoung the top 10's in the world) so "reliance automatically comes under top 9 best isp's in the wold " because the roll out that italy's isp has is very very small than what reliance has done 4) hmm the internet acess speed which i have been seeing ppl are most eager to know about !!! well i dont think so india has that much international bandwidth that the bandwidth would be provided to residential users @ such a cheap rate that reliance is offering. 5) it can provide superb bandwidth for servies like lan gaming , video on demand , audio ,local n long distance video conferencing and other excting stuff because they work on reliance's own network and NOT ON INTERNATIONAL BANDWIDTH and mind it @ 128 MBps of dedicated connection things do work faster ps all of the isps research done through internet so blame the internet not me if the facts are wrong
