I want to send multiple SMS to groups from my LG2030 attached to a P4. How can I do it with some free software? 2030 - still out of question ... u can go upto encoding and uploading the SMS but not initiating the send (except thro hard-coding the R-World button to open a specific midlet - which is a modified version of the send to many from R-world) that is something Reliance would never appreciate ... and u are actually buzzing with the phone firmware ... which I would'nt do unless u had a real bug in the wrong place ... I still believe the night I called up static_electricity when I tweaked the firmware a little too much. take my word ... buy a handset that supports it ... rather than use my freaky ideas . ( or come over, see my handset and decide if u wanna take a chance ) cheers ashok

hmm ... the topic sure is not illegal.... and his query is quite valid. The query seems to reflect to magnetic swipe cards which can hold data, something which every security concious company uses today ... Please specify : 1. Is it a swipe card or a detector card? 2. How much data are you intending to store? 3. Does the identification have to magnetic alone ? 4. ever thought about Magnetic (video / audio) tapes and the reader heads ??? incl the circuit it would cost about 550/- when in school, we had made something of the kind for out comp. lab and robotics classes but unfortunately we do not have the jazzy stuff around now ... Confirmed source would be a Kyocera 7135 user. .. U would be charged as per r-connect charge, since it is out of bounds of the walled garden. Even on a Kyo you are charged R-connect charges in case of wap / http browsing... so assume the same holds true for the wappers

Ruim cards are available in most of the WW's ... nothing specific to this phone mate

Me too ... on exactly the same combo ... RIM 2 RIM unltd mob calls free ... (thatz at just Rs. 75 more) and DAPO ... so unltd messages no wonder ... I'm still here with RIM hehe !! but hey ... a little look at the features in the pack ... I guess the 6265 needs a better pricing ... probably something closer to 9k ! yeah .... open up the thingy u'll understand why ! The entire board is Made in China, the slider technology has already recovered the development costs thro 6270/6280 (GSM 3G) so that cost is no longer in the liablity. The licensing costs for S40 is way lesser ... and well the body is not too stylish anyways... it looks a rough make ! cheers ashok

How much it costed me ? Nothing ... the shop keeper owed me some money for some wierd code I had made for his inventory keeping How much did I spend on it ? Nothing... except maybe a few bucks to BEST while recharging the mobile How many years am I owning it ? From the start of the 501 scheme ... 3 years now! Problems faced ? None at all ... he he ... ask me about it 12 months - and these are the handsets that have run thro my hands... about 24 :: CDMA :: Lg rd2030, rd5130, Samsung N191, Nokia 2280. Telson TWC1150, Kyocera 7135, Nokia 6255, Nokia 6275i. :: WCDMA / TB GSM :: Nec e616, e818. Nokia 6280, 6680, N70, N80, N73. LG 8130, 8180, U880, U890. Benq - some yet to launch test handsets SE K608i, K800i (it rocks .. 3.2 MP cybeshot cam man!!), K610i. Moto V3x. but in the end I end up kicking out most of them to buy newer makes ... to test and fiddle .. Thanks to a highly co-operative place where i work, can pick handsets hehe cheers ashok PS : I contacted one of my mates in Nokia, who informs me that testing has shifted from CDMA to WCDMA (mostly GSM tech). the CDMA handsets are being tested by 1st line managers (and direct staff therein) so getting more details out might be a little difficult !
