@Everyone : A bug that i noticed in the EB13/ EB05 (several ROMs) ... I've been on froyo for over a week now... Absolutely no complaints ... all of a sudden when I turned on the camera today it gave an error message : Warning : Camera Fail. This did not let me use either the camera or the video mode / alternate recording utilities. I identified this to be a software glitch because whenever i turned on a software like "barcode scanner" the camera worked fine. Tried to remove the mem card, formatted it (since some forum said it could be due to limited card space - I have a 32GB!).. Tried another mem card (some forum said use a class 6 card)... The glitch is apparently caused by wireless location sensing that fails. So if you get the error ... go to settings (on the phone .. not the camera), go to location and security and turn off both the GPS options. Now the cam is back to a rocking perfect mode! Just a tip if someone else faces this issue.. PS : ROM's where I faced this issue are Bonsai ROM and Nebula.

Somehow post Hetal's NV patch, I'm pretty happy on Bonsai ROM with EB13 It rocks actually!

It pains to see such entrepreneurship for prosperity going down the drain.. Deeply saddening. For all I know, the project will rise - being a part entrepreneur myself - It took me 8 years to work out a business plan (and work out the working capital i needed) - something which Sadikk had asked me to do ages ago... Epic Android 2.3 Gingerbread alpha release is available thro Cyanogenmod. its based on a recoded Eb13 radio. the best yet .. though the Camera / GPS does not work as of now . Still alpha .. just installed the ROM (and removed it coz Cam is kinda very important for me ) cheers karki

well penned down buddy. I tried NebulaROM, Bonsai, Andromeda (nightly), ViperROM and TrulyEpic_v3... somehow I found the Truly EPIC the most stable. The reboot issue still persists - but just one Reboot in over 48 hours. I loved the Menu Structure of ViperROM, and the Fonts used there.. The startup and ShutDown screens from Nebula and the stability of TrulyEpic. Did i mention the Miui Music player on Nebula is superb ... with a lyrics search - which automatically plays the lyrics on the screen - synced with teh music - so you can kareoke along!!

Rewrite the Original ESN to the phone, and factory reset from the clockwork mod recovery screen. it recreates the actual MEID. Since its bordering on the lines of legit processes - you can get more details over PM but i'd refrain a discussion on an open forum. cheers karki

most people own smartphones now a days capable of accessing the internet. Upload a simple DB driven form online - rating each photo from each person the overall code needed to execute this should be minimal

@honest : Mapusa Beach ???? I practically visit goa more than 6-10 times each year ... been end to end (have a buddy's home in interior mapusa... but no beach there buddy) hehe ... Don't miss the following : * Water sports at Calangute / Anjuna * clubbing at Anjuna / Vagator (but u gotta know the right people for the right fun) * Swimming to dolphin spot and butterfly island from Palolem - extreme south end of goa.. * before palolem there's a beach called Agondha - here u can find the ring cave - a old ring rock in the sea ... let me warn u .. don't risk this unless you know both swimming and rock climbing adeptly risky but fun!! * In arambol beach - try going for a early morning massage .. then take a quick swim... trek the hill .. hire a paraglider .. .and glide your way back to the beach - hovering over the fresh water lake connecting to the sea its a unique and unforgettable experience * The money stone sculpture at Arambol is a rare way to help the needy give if you can ... take if you have to !! * Basillica of Bom-Jesus in Old goa.. * Cross 2 rivers and trek half a hill to touch the wonderous waterfalls of Dudh Sagar * There's a salim ali bird sanctury too .. worth a ride out to * check out the stranded ship at Siquerim beach and then ride upto fort aguada .... if you really have the thrill for adventure ... trek down the backside of the lighthouse ... but let me warn you buddy - one wrong move and we'll miss you here I normally camp in a tent and ride over to goa but i have friends who have both bikes and resorts - so sync up cheers karki

Don't have a kid - nor have i gone thro the trauma i felt reading the posts above... But just wondering - can't a kid have home schooling - if i believe that none of the schools in my area suits the needs and necessity of the kid (at least in the Pre KG / KG segments?) also how well does the legal system take such nuances into account? Just trying to wonder out aloud ... coz this is exactly what I'd NEVER EXPECT from the educational system in a democratic country. And i guess its time to relook at this form of education. (i've been schooled under the CBSE model), at the same time I've done something called as RSVK (Rishi Sanskriti Vidya Kendra) - a form of educational system mimicing the gurukul samprada ... That i guess ensures that you understand "Concepts" rather than byhearting values

Also designing a smartphone with the right ingredients can change the battery life from acceptable to not. Most HTC devices use a 65nm Snapdragon - that drains out power far quicker than the 45nm Hummingbird on samsungs. Choosing an optimum battery size also helps, a large touch screen device with a vibrant super amoled/ amoled display needs power to illuminate each pixel - a 500 mAH battery from an LG phone will kill it in no time - so it might even become necessary for the company to bundle a larger battery with some high end devices. I'll give a tad bit of an example. I used to use a Nokia N82 for practically 2 years - on my alternate GSM network (I've bought the same model of phone thrice - i loved its camera) but the battery on the phone ****ed big time. The E72 that I have today has the same screen size, a much better GPS (i use GPS practically everyday.. turn on turn by turn - in hindi ... and go to sleep in the night ... my company cab driver reaches me home without any problem) and the batter still lasts me over 2 damn days with extremely crazy amounts of calling / texting and data usage!! That's what's lacking on a droid device of today - though the samsung epic comes close with an excellent battery life (especially if you are using battery ETA and juice defender)! cheers karki

airtel in mumbai still gives me 31.032 Kbps, with a latency of 1.323 seconds and a transfer of 100KB in 25 odd secs. Don't think that's anywhere close to 3G speeds buddy cheers Ashok
