Probable issues : 1. Resource conflict... to check this try to open MSINFO and see if there are any conflicts between devices (sharing the same IRQ) 2. Hardware incompitable... did u add a new hardware which is not quite compitable with ur machine? 3. Software (System Failure) caused by a software trying to access memory locations which are already preallocated. 4. A VERY VERY RARE CHANCE OF BRF (BIOS refresh Fail) this is undocumented.. but yes I have personally faced it ... just remove the bios battery for about 20 minutes (yes that much time is needed... and keep ur comp off for the said period) coz it takes a lil time for the condensors to drain out charge... (it does not hurt to try this step). 5. Check for malware / spyware .. coz there was one which infected XPSP2 and caused a sys halt... do not quite remember the characteristics... but sure remember the trend of un-informed restarts.. 6. Check if ur processor fans are working okay. 7. Just for assurance just check if ur SMPS outputs (4.75+-0.25)(11.85+-0.15) *2, and if the output is stable... also check if there is any sudden fluctuations of power in ur house. 8. Check if any of the capacitors on the MB are swollen up... coz it could be a failing capacitor. 9. If nothing works, just to check, try a reinstall of windows. cheers Ashok

Legality is not a question here ... at least in india (and considering reliance's / tata's plans) the user is purchasing the handset downright.... and for all anyone cares, the phone is urs... and when it is urs u sure have the right to fry it in oil, or dip it in the commode. now getting to the issue, when someone gets a CDMA handset from abroad, which supports RUIM, u can use any CDMA RUIM anywhere. .. and well the same thing can be done (by little hacks (read tweaks)) to the phone. As far as disabled RUIM slots are concerned, for nokia handsets, it is a small flash (RH-17) that counts, to activate the same. Cheers Ashok

Happens here also in Mumbai ...!!! occassionaly though... but then if I give a miss call from my GSM numbers to my RIM handset and then redial a number from my Reliance handset... it works fine after that ... Just seems like RIM is de-latching mobiles which have latched to the network continiously for a long time ... Cheers Ashok

Technically possible .... intellectually possible ... but issues do exist. In cases the calls do not connect well, sometimes ur location register does not latch to the PRL defined, in case of clones. Arun, had a real nice experience a couple of days back, when his Kyo failed to work... the copy of the Kyo he had made, was a dummy phone, which could receive messages and make / receive calls for exactly 5 Seconds!!! So can i suggest you, not to try it out, unless u are ready for about a month of trial and error ? Cheers Ashok

Even the latest version supports RD2030 what u need to do is to choose the phone as LG VX-6000 and detect as normal in the options somewhere there is a show filesystem. which has to be activated. ANY UPDATES AFTER 12th coz I might be offline till then Cheers ashok

Let that question be a little more clear... is this what u mean ... when someone calls u, and u pick the call (AT(%)P) and then u want something like a caller id, so that instead of a username / password u can use the caller id as username ?? If that is the question, the only way that I could think of ... but this is not using any AT commands... what u will have to do is to use bitpim / gagin to get the vals from the phone dir on ur phonelog (considering u are using a RD2030) and at least this process can be automated using sendkeys (in VB). If u want a demo, I will try to make one after I come back from my party at Matheran ... going there tonight !! will be back by sunday night I guess ... for another party, (parents anniversary). btw if u want to dial ... AT+CDV=Number will work ATD / ATH is for a hangup. Cheers Ashok

well each operator has a cut off.... coz they do not like customers getting angry, coz their phone auto dialled someone when it was in their pockets, and the call lasted for hours on end... and the 1.7 hours that u mention of calls abc123, could be a rare exception, when the server resets were done ( was it sometime between 3.00 - 5:30 AM (if u are in Mumbai / Mah) ) ?
