  1. What Is The Aim Behind Lifetime Validity

Pay 1000 bucks (company already has the infrastructure) ... and u get incoming for lifetime... The customer retains the number ... and all in all he has to recharge only once in six months ... now think of this ... the customer remains in the bracket with a fixed call charge.... (and real high ones at that) Customer decides that in one month (say Jan) he expects to make n number of calls.... and he TOPS UP with some money... (even when there are better deals running around, he ends up making high rate calls...) yeah there are a couple of vouchers like the 440 which u can recharge with to make calls at cheaper rates, but the LTV is not a viable option for someone who recharges everymonth with a 440 voucher... Cheers Ashok

  7. Bulk Sms Via Reliance Phone Attached To Pc

The ONLY workaround ... All CDMA handsets which have been officially launched in india thro RIM do not support AT commands to send messages (else I would have sent a message per 6 secs). So what can be done ... Step 1: I am not sure of the model number ... it is the Nokia handset launched by Tata indicom in the Hum-Tum Offer... get that handset. Step 2: Reflash it to support RUIM (Rh-17) bin. Step 3: Put a reliance RUIM... Step 4: Get a Dku serial cable .. for nokia ... Step 5: Now u can send messages thro AT commands / using PC Sync (though most of the versions just showed the SMS option disabled... one version did work --.... This is the only way I could succeed in sending messages from PC. other than this (except using a sierra card... I could not find a way), yeah I did make an encoder sometime back to encode SMS for LGRD2030 (mainly to encode SCKL codes for my friends handsets...) Cheers Ashok

Cheers Ashok
  11. Limited R-world Applications In Lg Rd 6230

On the phones inbuilt Memory, there seems to be a limitation of Mp3 file size (it has to be less than 500kb or something ... I remember reading some such crap somewhere)... whereas songs can be on a mini-sd yep here it is http://www.lgmobiles.com/Product%20Note_LG_RD6230.pdf Save upto 14 MP3 songs (3 Default + 11 Downloadable) in internal memory (max 30 seconds or 500KB each song) so that could be it !!!
  12. Think of this funda... U host a web page... and provide the IP to the world. (consider it is 203.*.*.* - MTNL) And now u wish that when a user requests a page from ur MTNL address, u send him a page (maybe via re-direction) from ur SIFY connection. Aren't we missing something major here??? If u could do the transmission thro ur sify IP, why do u need two connections? (and logically, isn't it simpler to do a simple server-send, rather than a server-redirect?) Cheers Ashok
  13. Can I Change Keypad For Rd6130?

yeps ... the keypad and the body can be changed... the cost of the 6130 plastics is about 275/- without any bargaining ... just asked casually ... at Maneesh Market (VT) , Mumbai Cheers Ashok
  14. Rimweb Meet - II

Anotonio ... well he was a Brew master in Cafe Coffee Day, earlier he was in Mac D's and even did catering for his college... after that, he got into the service sector, but he loves to cook like hell... Ask him about a recepie.... chances of him not knowing it is rare. ************* Sayan on the other hand is a Mech. Enggr. student. The first person of my age whom I met in mumbai, four years back.... we've saved each others butt many times... he is a champ footballer (striker) and I was in defence... and trust me the understanding we shared was real kewl... in fact we know each other soooo well that we even communicate just by eye guestures.... yeah he is my best friend.... (and he was the first one to rate me "PERVERT" .. <- being a lil truthful) ************** Both of them were inspired to the extent that we've decided to go to the Don Bosco's shelter for street kids (with blankets etc ...) real soon. (need moolah for the purchases). Sure Santosh and Harshad, hope to have u all around for the next meet. we could even be exchanging resources during these meets .... cd's / tools / books and what not... Cheers mates Ashok

  18. Rimweb Meet - II

Too late abhay... The meet was a silent one .... The location ASHA DAAN - An Orphanage for the Mentally retarded kids.... Time : Started there at about 3.00, and really I thought we will wind up in one hour... but......................... Members attended from rimweb : ashoksoft and chirag Members who promised to attend : many .... each one with his / her own excuse. (a few of them really genuine) Members from REDBLAZE : Antonio Fernandez Others : my sister (Anjana) and Sayan Das ( a close friend, whose help I took to carry the clothes). We reached there at about 3 in the afternoon, after explaining to the security that we had brought gifts for the kids, and after telling about Sister Yvoone, we were let in with the 9 HUGE packets of clothes, books, blankets, towels etc... initially we visited the office to meet the sister who was having tea.... we saw a real nice crib which was made outside the premises.... at first I just thought, this is just another orphanage.... never knew the kids were mentally retarded.... and seriously I do not call them that anymore. they were sweet and innocent, no idea, how someone could just abandon them.... ask chirag about it .. I am sure even he has some pleasent moments of it. The place was well maintained, with cribs for each of the young ones... they had a playroom... with tricycles, mini cars etc.... there was a eating bay too..... we met the young kiddos... and were playing around with them, wishing them merry christmas, when we decided to make it a lil more brighter... just then I got a message from Chirag "Hi just got up, where are u guys, and hows things happening", I called him (yeah! I knew that he was going to get his tooth removed... and that he would be having a painful day). when he heard that no one else had turned up, (yeah I know there are gonna be millions of excuses), he just turned up bang! we got choclates, biscuits and some toys (pong balls and kids specs, and face masks (santa ones)) and guys u should have seen the expressions on the kids faces. There were a few silent kids (real bad... no idea why did god have to make kids that way ... but real nice ones..) there was this nice cute kid, who really enjoyed the choclates that were given to him, so silent was he ... that he was reminding me of chirag Then there was this guy named prakash, young, (maybe 5 years) and SMART! he walks up to me and looking at my Telson says... "woh watch aur mobile saath mein hain naa? usme tasveer bhi bana sakte hai naa?", (isn't that a watch and a mobile? which can take photos also ?) - TRUST ME !! I WOULD NEVER RATE THIS KID RETARDED IN ANYWAY!!!! he knows better than many employees from RIM also. The silent kid was the most dangerous one ... as they always say ... "It's the silent ones u gotta watch", coz he happily peed on Antonio. Then there was this girl named shweta, who kept on hitting everyone.... funny though!! Then it was lunch time, the kids were served biryani, with salad... and we took turns to feed the kids.... trust me they were fighting for one of us to go to them and feed them... it is not everyday that they have someone to shower affection on them. At about this time a group of young girls (nice looking ones aged about 20-23) turned up with books and pens to distribute , and there was also an employee from the navy who had come to play with the kids.... and seriously it was a nice feeling... Trust me guys who missed it ... (whatever damn excuse u have), u missed an experience you would not have liked to miss.... Sorry photography is not allowed at the orphanage, else we could have enlightened u a bit... After that we went to a near by sandwich wala and had loads of sandwiches... walked a little and had two nice glasses of sugarcane juice... then off we went to mama mia's - a pizza point... with an amazing menu "Mama makes her own dough and bakes it too..." they had "prawns balls" and "screw pasta" they also had "Atlantic pizza" and "beef steak frankie" (which btw contains chicken) and a lot more. Chirag was his usual veggie self... while we munched on varieties of Non-veggie delicacies.... winded up by around 8.... and here I am back home (yeah we have a couple of pics too... ) will add them here after I upload. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Pics galore<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< The Orphange... it is the yellow building in the distance (sorry no photography near it) My sister, me and antonio at Mama Mias Chirag (yellow), sayan, anjana and me Chirag - Sayan - Anjana Lets party mood The whole bunch of guys : Sayan - Anto- Chirag and ME Cheers Ashok

  20. Reliance Compatible Handset Specs

Will test on a Gtran, when I lay my hands on one... in the mean time.. here is a confirmation, it does work on Telson . I guess GTRAN RSN of the handset is network registered... but in case of Telson it is the RSN of the RUIM ... Just a good guess in the mean time. but ideally it SHOULD work, anyway lemme try for a GTRAN in the mean time to try on a tata handset... Cheers Ashok
