Precisely... and now I guess we have a workaround, TATA launched handsets, I presume are not having the "wrapper" layer governing the AT's supported, and nokia's "CDMA AT commands for Handset Specs", define the usage of CMGS too... since I have a reliance RUIM, the next step will be to try out using the RUIM on a Tata launched Nokia Handset.... cheers Ashok

Rimweb has come a long way .... really a looong way ... since its inception. The forum is today celebrated to an extent where we have an identity of our own. Every person who searches for anything on reliance ... gets thrown to our forum.... we've had revamps, managed to keep the forum clean even with so many members... we've managed to organize meets ... get online faceless friends out of their viels, and now the time has come, for the users to tell us what more can we have here! as far as nokia handsets go ... u will need a flash R-17, contact the chap who got the slot installed to get a R-17 RUIM read flashed. once that is done, if ur phone latches on to Reliance using a Reliance RUIM, it will work perfect with a tata one too! Cheers Ashok

linuxguy u are guessing wrong... and there is nothing for u to doubt, coz the frequencies of operation can be confirmed from ur own handset.... or if u have a manual, they might have the info. 1800 - 1900 is in for GSM mate ... check out GSM specks 900 - 1800 will be for Dual band 900 - 1800 - 1900 will be Tri band 900 - 1800 - 1900 / 2100 - will be Tri band sub series (3G WCDMA) eg. 3. Lol that is simple mate... The transmission frequency is the frequency at which ur mobile transmits data, RX is the frequency at which the mobile receives data. AOC stands for ur CONSUMER status which is set by the operator. High values *(above 10) is meant only for VIP customers, and many a times is used by operator test mobiles. So when going to buy a network booster, u will need one which can boost signals in the said frequencies.... PS : Boosters DRAIN out batteries fast, and above that... they have an adverse effect on the life of the mobile too (despite all claims that they are 100% safe for the mobile) Cheers Ashok

Trust both the companies *Orange and RIM to fiddle with the same strings... RIM proposed a brand makeover, Orange becomes Hutch in mumbai. RIM launches a scheme, Hutch launches one on its "CLASSY" network too.... Now somehow, we have trashy offers from the classy master also ... and looking at the past reliance sure needs a real make over, and instead of the INDIAN look that reliance ad's have had in the past, we need more classy ads (yeah ambani will need to spend more money on the brand, rather than the JOY of RIM tune which really s**ks, we need something classy and catching like the airtel tune, the hutch tune (u and I) etc..) The master is back .... was away fiddling on TATA indicom handsets... coz someone is paying hefty to tweak somethings there Go for a AMPS(2) CDMA antenna. unless ur Access overload class value (specified by operator) is less than 10 the frequency of reliance network latch will be : Transmission (TX) : 824.64 MHz - 848.37 MHz Receiver (RX) : 869.64 - 893.37 Mhz Latch on presecion needs to be within 300 Hz of either limits. So any antenna which can support the said frequencies should ideally do.. Cheers Ashok

no deadman ... it allows u to change the A-KEY which is the authentication key (and acts as a password when ur mobile registers with the network) if u change it ... it is highly probable that ur mobile will be out of network coz a successful login will be doubtful Cheers Ashok
