I sincierly thank all suggestions raised... but hey more ... more ! it could be ... damn almost anything.. which we could help out with! cheers Ashok

Never really played on any other handsets... would have loved to help ... but hey never really tried so no comments! Cheers Ashok

  9. Evdo Status

EVDO capablities are fantastically handled by DoCoMo Japan, and Vodafone to an extent (reserach mode) in UK. 3 supports video over WCDMA Streams rather than EVDO. India ... we gotta wait and watch mate! Cheers Ashok
  10. Discover The Nam Settings! (**risky**)

No I was reading ... rather seeing ... could not have a text to speech engine reading out a web page at 2.30 AM! well I would love to comment further ... but for the moment I will just keep mum ! and give a surprise out very very soon! there is a lot of information being traded on IRC on mobiles! (hint hint) ohh bol hi deta hoon... What reliance has done is that it has hardcoded the values ... so even if u change the settings otherwise the Qualcomm chip still is programmed with default rim values as far as CDMA settings are concerned (PRL .. SID etc) The best way out ... Reflash the handset without the RIM settings ... or search if u can find anything like QPST which allows fiddling on 5130 ./ 6130 Cheers Ashok
  11. Ur Wish ... Our Command!

well BPP I guess rajan has answered your query well, and we are here on the internet to get info ... and I am quite sure we are not gonna boost mobile market all that much ... coz u are here since u use a mobile! so that would be taken care by the mobile companies themselves *(and since I work in one.. trust me we use every hook and crook to keep the customer and get more) For a start : 1. I would love if graphics designers could come up with a few nice logos for Rimweb.in (to be used for merchendise... and soveniours) 2. We need a few funky slogans that can look kewl on a tee shirt / a wrist band / on a cap etc.... and hey if things materialize as intended .. selected entries will get a free prize with their entry on it! 3. Lets have a new contest in place, whenever someone wants to develop a custom application (for whatever reasons..) or wants to have a web site designed. instead of hiring programmers from all accross... let us cross skill ... what I mean is that one of our co-rimwebians who is ready to contribute will develop the thingy for the other person. If the whole thing works out like a charm, the person who requested for the development can not just pay the developer, he could write a review about the product. and if things are in the positive... u win a prize from rimweb too.... What say arun sir ? Cheers Ashok
  12. BIRTHDAY WISHES!

  13. Ur Wish ... Our Command!

  14. Why Cant We Google It?

The idea is not bad, but the search capablities of IBP is as good as any. Google has contextual search (esp designed for online ads). For eg if u want to search for Nokia 6600, all u need to search for is "6600" try it out ... u will have better results Since that was what u wrote this topic down for (SMS .. SMS ... PM ... Message ... how to shut down n6600 ... ) Cheers Ashok
  15. RUIM Slot in Nokia 6235

ONE CLARIFICATION : In the case of RUIM based mobiles, the ESN (or as Rim puts on its servers the RSN is stored on the RUIM Card) I got this confirmed because, when I took my Telson, for three days the HCC did not work, even after repeated complaints and letters to the Chairmans office. What had happened was that I had told them the RSN of the handset, and not of the RUIM card. So they had registered my handsets RSN on the network and not of the card, hence I could not activate the handset, till someone from the chairmans office called and noted my RUIM's RSN number. Later to cross check I tried to use a TATA indicom RUIM in the handset. and mates it does work (except for the fact that the handset is still registerd on reliance... which means I can still dial *369 / *333 and talk to the customer care of rim.). So There is nothing illegal about it. Once u have bought the handset, and if u are on a prepaid connection, it is upto u as to how u use the handset (Or rather change it). Cheers Ashok

  24. Best RIM Tariff For you?

hey mates ... could not really meet up with the sunday deadline I had kept to finish the project due to some issues here..... was designing some web site etc.... but it will be out soon ... btw if any ASP / PHP coder is out there .. who can devote a lil time ... I can spare my current design over, and u could develop it further. .. team effort mates! cheers Ashok
  25. Discover The Nam Settings! (**risky**)

Good work mate .... but all this was covered in the QPST discussion sometime ago. I have "Red colored and "x" marked a few fields... " the reason I will PM you. The AOC can be misused, and is partially location (and handset manufacturer specific). If u really intend to see if u are able to use Line 1 and 2, try this... Take an LG RD2030 (old connection - Prepaid) Connect it to the comp using the serial port cable, and read the phone settings using QPST. Once done... do not disconnect the phone, but note the settings on CDMA Settings 1 and CDMA Settings 2 Now give a call from another phone (and Pick the call from the LG which is connected to the comp), while the call is in progress... take another mobile and once again call the LG handset (now u get call waiting)... read the settings on QPST's CDMA-1. RECEIVE THE SECOND CALL ... and see what changes happen in the CDMA-1 Settings ... u will see that NAM 2's settings - is the receiver of the second call... Or that reliance still supports two lines... except on new connections ... since RIM understood the loophole that existed in case the same was used for a conference call to an international / national number. -> this is PRESICELY why RIM has stopped call waiting in new connections. Cheers Ashok
