let me chip in my efforts ... except for the fact that I am in my office most of the time ... and away from my beloved comp / lappy ... so will still work on it ! lets see ... Fields needed to compute predictive best plan : User's expected minutes of : Local calls to landlines Local calls to CDMA/WLL's Local calls to GSM Local Calls to RELIANCE MOBILES STD to Mobiles STD to Reliance ISD calls Internet usage R-World Usage On-net SMS Off-Net local SMS Off-Net National SMS Computing the bill would not be too tough will it? I guess a VB application can do the thingy in about 1 hour of code~! with an update feature to update the offline Database whenever there is a new plan / change to existing plan Cheers Ashok

Yahoo has domain keys.... another option is to check the header of the mail, u might see a different source of the mail.. For eg, last week, I had a bet with my trainer in our office, and I told him, that he would receive a mail from his own official id... and I did send him such a mail, using an ANONYM mailer! many sites are there which have anonym mailers ... Search around, earlier we had http://www.diku.org but that site is no longer allowing that for free! Cheers Ashok

well well ... time for clarification! in a typical situation if u are on GSM, more users at a location does not mean u are congesting the network, unless most of them are in connection at the same time .... but in the case of CDMA, more users (and that does not mean ... just users making calls), means shared bandwidth, sometimes overlapping... which causes SERIOUS issues like what most of us are facing now! Bug the chairmans office, bug the CC, and promise them to chuck reliance! and well keep fingers crossed! something might work out! Cheers Ashok

Microsoft's Next Non Windows Os
ashoksoft replied to Vishal Gupta's topic in General Technical Discussion
microkernels allow smaller code... better optimizations and above all GREAT customizablity.... earlier MS had no intentions to make a Microkernel OS, coz who would raise butts to question MS. but with google , sun etc joining hands, MS sure has reason to believe that they might come out with a open source, open platform, hardware independent ... and well lot of research has also gone into making things like washing machines and fridges intelligent... and if google becomes the first to get the base out ... MS looses a market ! so well Singularity had to happen ... though I never really searched for this ... but for long I did suspect that something of this order was in the books... Cheers Ashok -
I still love RIM coz of that 440 voucher .... trust me ... if u are working in a odd houred job, and make calls to ur girl for hours on end ... nothing like reliance. Have a dolphin connection also ... I have plan-G, which is now withdrawn, 40 ps to any local number... sms at 25 ps anywhere accross the country, std at 2.00 anywhere! Cheers Ashok

Usb To Ide Casing/enclosure - Frustrated...about T
ashoksoft replied to sunandoghosh's topic in General Technical Discussion
I have two machines and a laptop on which I regualrly exchange my external drive... which is a External Casing with a Seagate 160 Gb in it.. never faced an issue. One highly probable issue could be that u have a version of USB up's less than 2.0. Coz in some systems where USB 2.0 is not there, I faced Speed and compatiblities issues... in one case the drive was not even detected. one more suggestion, try to install SP2 for XP, coz some drivers for Mass Storage Devices and UPS's have been added in that SP. Tell me what the outcome is... Cheers Ashok -
