well for all nokia handsets... they support SCKL codes for ringtones too... so the old thread how to do it by RohitRocker should help.... If u want to send an SCKL to ur handset, u can use CHIKKA or any thing that allows u to message to ur handset... or better still, u could send the SCKL codes to me, with ur mob number, and get it sent accross every night. The application I was making for Sending SCKL's will be made available to users of 2030 so that they can help their friends get the best out of their Nokia handsets... BTW ... I am not sure if 2112 and Mobi are really compliant for Ringtone transfers.. Cheers Ashok

True to an extent, but if u have been reading the news lately ... there were certain issues with the boom of the internet in the last couple of years, and re-constitution of the OSI layer diagrams.... Consider this, when using a nat (BTW FYI adwait, u have NAT's where the routing is done to ADDRESSES similar to running a proxy server, instead of using a port addressal.) u are actually reducing the overall MAINTAINANCE LOAD on the home range ISP. For Eg. My ISP (Ganesh Cable, gets its connection from Pacenet) as far as pacenet is concerned, Ganesh pays them monthly for a limited range of IP's offered. What Ganesh does is allow all the users it has via NAT Router (Microtek is used... if anyone wants to see the setup, just gimme a call, and come over to antop hill... the chap is a good friend of mine), and similar to a proxy server (but bypassing the disadvantages using a proxy), all users (almost 10 times the number of users, for which ganesh pays pacenet) get to use the net simultaneously. One more fact, the logging on most hardware NAT's and routing of information is still mangaed by a software, so yes there are issues here too... Cheers Ashok

I still have a Nokia 3585 given with a Tata connection ages ago ... now deactivated... let me rethink of activating that too ... so I can give comments better on this topic Cheers Ashok

any techies around can try this .... I am not sure if u have a Serial Cable available for the 5130. If not, just wait till static electricity explains how to get the USB cable to act up ... Yeah the old RS232 crap... DESCRIBING IF UR MOB has a Data cable SERIAL Try to connect, the mobile to the comp. Using Hyperterminal, set the com port, speed as 115200. Once open, send AT+GMM (this should return the mobile details...) and is only for confirmation, if the connection is proper. ATL3 Please let me know if this works out... Cheers Ashok

Google Specialized Search Urls
ashoksoft replied to Vishal Gupta's topic in General Technical Discussion
I've got some kewl pics of my college and surrounding areas (both my colleges) using google earth, yes it is true, maybe google earth will have to disemmiate some information, maybe black out high security zones... Btw that was bull to say that G! earth uses 2 year old pics, coz my new house construction began only 8 months back, and we have a nice shot of that too on google earth.... will upload the pics someday soon... Cheers Ashok -
well mates, first addressing Munna's issue. MAC address is on the ethernet card (which can be CHANGED using MAC MAKEUPS), and that is no issue, except that tech support can be blocked on the Laptop's Serial Number if reported stolen (which sounds like crap when we have lamington road) Harsh, if u intend to go to chor bazaar, wake up early in the morning ON FRIDAY's (about 3.30) get dressed by 4, and catch a train for VT / Grant Road, once there either walk it to JJ hospital, and from behind take a stroll inwards... if u want shoes ask for "DEDH GALLI" if u want electronics just stroll by ... u can see everything ... right from torches, to fridges to computers to laptops.... if u stay somewhere there... the market opens at 3.30 in the morning ... Clothes u can see everywhere ... and hey it is real kewl and cheap to get electronics from there!!!! Happy Shopping.... (grrr.... who said that things in chor bazaar are not genuine.. they sure are, except that they are stolen... and well even if u wanna buy something from there ... follow the rule of the thumb, u otta spend anyway.) PS : If anyone wants to see the place, but is not quite sure, tinkle me... we could go together to it.... u might be real lucky mate Cheers Ashok

well nice justification spookie... try that trick with me ! btw one second pulse is something many other operators are also thinking on the lines... see some new tarrifs soon from reliance and hutch too ... cheers Ashok
-
well my ISP threw me behind the NAT... my lan at home is a normal LAN Cheers Ashok PS : My ISP has spread from Chunna Bhatti to Sion, Koliwada, Antop Hill, wadala and Dadar....

I go with arun ... the performance of the Data Card is way better than the performance of the handset... Cheers Ashok
-
I will say ... get a damn lappy anyday... it is worth the effort! Cheers Ashok PS : Proud owner of 2 lappy's, smiling wickedly at bhutes... and teasing him!!
-
well ... harware NAT's are okay to maintain... I am behind one ! Cheers Ashok
-
Arun .... are u reading all this ? ?? time for yet another site i guess... Cheers Ashok

LOL Bhutes .... what a comparision, I seriously find it annoying, the kind of life there in delhi. but hey I proudly say I am a RIM user, give only my RIM number (in fact all my memberships are with my RIM Number.... more since it is 93226-ASHOK (27465 on ur keypad) so I have my name in my number). Yes... EDGE is way upmarket, and pathetic when cost factors are considered. I love and admire the way u hold ur loyalty to the mobile u own, the reliance handset. I still use a 2030, and even when I am in my office where I get to see at least 85% + of the crowd using, high end handsets, where a Moto Razr is considered the bare minimum... and a pocket PC something everyone has ... (yeah ! lot of free money is seen in the office and they don't give that to me), I tease my friends around, asking how many of them gets free ringtones? wall papers? etc... and above all, how many of them can make free calls to a long list of numbers, not to mention the free SMS's (considering the number of friends I have in the RIM network)... Now isn't that one more reason why RIM gotta rule? PS : I still love rim, though I work for Hutch. Cheers Ashok

yeah right ... now guess what ... they are not really talking about speeds, nor are they talking about just the time... dude, I do understand that they are making things simpler... but for the user who just plans to connect to his IM service (Yahoo messenger) for eg. and keep his comp on the whole day ... R-Connect is gonna get way costly.. Cheers Ashok
