ashoksoft replied to Arun's topic in Ringtones / Wallpapers / Themes / Applications / Games
hmm asher .... I guess I sent u the same file converted back, well for guys who want to understand what I have done.... The Midi header starts with MThd MTrk while the header once converted to ringtone looks like : 332981 MThd ÀMTrk ñ ÿHum Hain Is Pal Yahan ÿPsmPlayer V5.0 well what I did was to remove the contents of the dat file till ... the "MThd", and rename to .mid.... check this out mates Cheers Ashok -
Most of the online chat engines supporting voice today, uses 8bit encoding, so even if u are online for say 1 hr, the overall overhaul can be expected of about 5 - 10 MB. Text messaging takes hardly anybandwidth... so nothing much to be noted here... now consider that value, and compute the average number of hours u sit in front of the comp, online ? does it come to 150 MB in 3 days? well to be sure ... do what racoon had to say ... use a bandwidth monitor... that will ensure u can surely understand how much data has passed in/out of ur comp! Cheers Ashok

Very true abhay. The only possible way to ensure both presecion as well as correct (according to the 3 decimal place) output, is to have a formatted output to a file, read back, and compare. Formatted output can be acheived with setprecision() and setw(), both from iomanip.h. Ages since I sat on C/C++, so not really in a position to comment around now ... Cheers Ashok

well many download managers like flashget have a feature called as Schedule, u can get to that by pressing Alt+O in Flashget. There u have an option to say the DAY (ie. Mon - Sun) and Time to start downloads at, and times to Stop downloads at. Once u set a schedule, go to the Tab beside that ... Dial Up Networking, and say Connection : Connect to ... whatever give user name and password. Tick on Disconnect when done, Tick Redial if disconnected, Retry failed connection : give about 9 and Between Retry wait ... 3 secs. Check pics... Cheers Ashok

Dude, I do understand ur predicament.... but this "PLEASE_HELP_ME_TO_CHOOSE_MY_MOBILE" is something that does not require a thread altogether.... not sure if mods feel the same way... For the current question... U have a set of specs, which I am sure cannot be satisfied by any Reliance Handset other than Nokia 6255, and considering u have already set eyes on the blackberry... I would suggest you to opt for that . Buddy ... I seriously wonder... why do u feel, we can analyze ur reqirements better than the user? My personal opinion states that, since it is u, who is gonna use the handset.... it is advisable that u choose the handset ur self. Expert opinion from a Nokia Salesman, and one from Blackberry will vary. And even here u are gonna get varying responses.... All the best for ur handset hunt... Cheers Ashok

been using it for a month now .... the thing is damn good ... I love the add number thingy, where the numbers are added on to their server online. u can make unlimited one minute calls for free ... which I used to do ... but hey 5 euros is not too costly ... and the service is amazing Cheers Ashok

Java and Brew are two platforms which have evolved to support cross model support for the same code (similar to the java byte code). BREW stands for Binary Runtime Environment for Wireless. Btw all LG / Samsung handsets (right from N191 and RD2030 have been using Qualcomm chipsets... which makes them support BREW midlets by default). Java was the language of preference for Reliance all along, coz of easier availablity of programmers, and easier reference (how many of u have a copy of the Brew documentation????) So Except Nokia, GTRAN (I am not sure) , and that watch handsets, all rim handsets (LG / Samsung) had brew compitablity... not just TATA ones. BREW has open API 's for C/C++ coders, abstracting the features of the chipset (Qualcomm ones) and thus providing an easier medium to code, and also to ensure that the output is device independent. There is a strong resemblance between Java APIs offered via MIDP and the APIs offered by BREW. Both types of content can be delivered over-the-air (as can the Java VM itself). Cheers Ashok

In most of the cases the USB cable is using a RS232 to convert Serial port to USB connector... so u need to have a Data Transfer rate of 115200 and specifically on the emulated com port which is meant for the USB device. for Brew communication / to set phone in DM mode to access file system, the speed is set at 38400 Cheers Ashok
