well u sure are confused... the emulator I am talking about is what DADP offers, using which u can try the midlets. Now I never told that u could stream information over the data cable... coz that is not possible (at least as of now). Rajan... I have this wierd belief ... that NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE. When reliance first launched the handsets .. we could not even have a ringtone of our choice, today we are fiddling with it ... and a lot more such things. What was impossible has become possible today. As of today, unless someone who has a R-Connect and who can proxy the information accross... I do not think u are gonna see any R-Connect on ur PC. I do not use R-Connect, and hence ... my contribution to this post becomes limited. Now that I have told where ur mobile gets the info from, why dont one of u R-Connect users try it out and tell us .. @Anujit are u reading this post ? Cheers Ashok

I had taken a day off to enjoy with my special someone... yesterday. We had gone to a waterfall near Navi Mumbai (New Bombay) at a place called Kharghar... As expected ... I was busy taking care of my Digicam, and well my LG RD2030 was in deep water ... before I even knew it !! (Happened last year also... I went for a swim in my trousers with my mobile in my pocket... when I realized what had happened ... my heart was in my throat!! But then a quick thinking helped ... and it costed me NOTHING to get my beauty back to life!) This time I was more prepared ... so herez what u do if ur mob. gets wet!!!! FIRST : REMOVE THE BATTERY ASAP! Do not keep the battery attached to the mobile as this increases the chances of getting a short circuit. Take : *A T3 6-star Screwdriver for LGRD2030 star screwdriver for SCH-N191 For Nokia handsets (newer ones) u do not actually need a screwdriver (or in the event that it gets completly wet, use a plug cleaner) *Some ISO-PROPYL Alcohol *A Hair Drier *A little expertise in Electronics (this is not available anywhere.... if u do not have it ... please do not try these, at least for a safer side soldering is to be known) *A soldering Iron is an added advantage (in the remote event of u breaking a contact! I have broken... that) Step I Thatz my RD2030 lying peacefully .... with more than enuf water in it !! LOL the battery is drained already! The Tools I used other than the dryer and isopropyl are here... Remove Battery (This is step to be done as soon as the thing gets wet ...) This is just a demo image There are 4+1 screws in the RD2030 (this is dependent on which mobile u have) The above image depicts ... how the screws are removed... Herez my mob with the screws removed .... all ready to expose (he he ) Therez another screw under the hidden reception antenna padding (see image below) that is also to be removed Gently apply a PUSH-UP pressure on the sides .... uses a sharp tool to assisit u better! The internal reception antenna is attached to the main PCB by means of a disconnectable plug... here u can see the wire still connected (please note .. that if ur RD2030 is giving reception problems... a small adjustment to the aluminum cylindrical thing ... can assist u a lot!) <- Thanks to Chits... who points out that that is the vibrator, i am not quite sure ... but it did help me a lil when my reception had gone kaboom.. no idea mates Remove Antenna Connection Here u can see the PCB of the mobile after I cleaned it with a lil Isopropyl ... use a cloth... and dont use too much alcohol... well u wanted to know how to enable the external CDROM from a flash drive boot ? Do this .... Make the USB drive bootable by formatting the drive with the option "Make bootable" enabled. Once done ... then copy the CDROM Drivers for external Drives on Serial port (I used to use the one from http://www.micro-solutions.com/downloads/index.asp ) U might need to add a few more files to the boot media to actually help u out.... first of all U might need to repartition ur hdd ... so (DO THIS FROM A WIN 98 / 98SE Machine) copy fdisk.exe to the flash drive, u might also need to get spinrite to check if ur disk is in shape ... just PM me ... I will send it accross! once u boot from the USB Drive, then install the dos based install that u have downloaded from the given link. Next fdisk / format ur HDD. Since u claim that u had a crash earlier... and u are not quite sure about the state of the HDD ... I would suggest a slow format. Once done the CD ROM Should be accessible as a new drive. Insert ur windows CD there and begin the install! and hey the method Deepu said is fairly easy .... Cheers Ashok

Does ur lappy have a floppy drive ? if yes u can make it bootable using a bootimage (contact me if u want any of them / or u could find them from http://www.bootdisk.com ) When u connect thro the 25pin connector u say that the CDROM is detected, u mean u are connecting it to the Serial port naa? well then I do not think there will be native boot support. U will need to boot thro some other native boot media, and then use the drivers to read from the CDROM. Another option is ... if u have boot from network and have a network card (ehternet card) u could try to boot from the network. If u want the procedure to do this ... just PM me back, or if need be .. I will make a post right here . If ur lappy supports boot from USB Drive, then use a bootable image on ur flash card. (BTW, if u are in Mumbai / near by... u could drop by ... and we could do something about it !) Cheers Ashok
