and ... phir bhi it remains the financial capital of india... The hub for most businesses ... and that does speak something about the feelings of every mumbaikar towards this city.... BTW when comparing cities .... compare cities of equal stature .... which is tough to find one competing with mumbai. The people know the art and sprit of helping one another in crisis.... In fact even today we had rains as good as on 26th but the difference is that the city has been PREPARED for it... The drains have been cleared (so no water clogging), and emergency measures have been set up.... Remember the time when there was no power in NYC for 2 hours a few years back, well that was rated as the worst days... but the spirit of every mumbaikar makes him enjoy every situation... Tell me one city where even after a bomb blast, life gets back to normal in hours? Be a part of the experience before u blow out bhutes... Ashok

Very true... But yes u can try to buy a Step-down adapter (about Rs. 350 unbranded) for step-down from 100v dc to 4.2v dc (it is 4.2v dc)... But why bother ? ? moreover how funny it is going to look like when the TT comes over to check tickets and sees a guy hanging his mobile from the fan ... CHARGING IT!!! Cheers Ashok

Dude, are u keeping the FWP/FWT connected to the charger at the time of switching the fan? coz if thatz the case, then it could be due to a slight fluctuation in the voltage (happens in a lot of places where a jhol-jhal arrangement of wiring is done) Otherwise.... (I asked my dad who is a Marine Engineer about this, coz even I had faced a similar situation with my mobile when R-Connect loophole was there) This is what he had mailed me .... and it had solved my problem, hope it helps.... The electrical interference caused due to the short-circuit / Spark in your fan's switch may cause high impedence radio waves and may disturb your connection of internet. Open the switch board and try to rectify the Short Circuit. (I would advise asking a good electrician to do the work). Cheers (and tell us whatever improvements u make) Since u say that other connections work it could be the High Impedence Radio disturbance generated could be in the same freq. as the R-Connect operational freq. Damn True.... and for that matter. ... many of the updates (so called as NOT-UPGRADABLE On NON-LICENSED VERSIONS OF WINDOWS) have come on warez as well as is available on various channels in IRC. A small patch ... and u can get a update. Again ... we have 16 year whiz kids who, have proven time and again the powers of softice.... he he hehe .... how many JNC's do u think have to be changed to stop a verify call (that connects using winsock - yes guys windows updates still verify integrity with a 64 byte packet sent over.... and say about 10 byte patch is all it takes to "PROVE" that the version of windows is LICENSED!!!! he he he he ... Another simpler option is. .. get a buddy to download the upgrades (u can make one by FCompare), and then transfer them over to ur machine .... Cheers Ashok

I had similar thoughts sometime back (infact right at the time when the 440 voucher was launched.... and I even had a few chats with a few of my buddies...) but guess what u can dial a OTA Data call thro the modem function and the only number u dial to is #777 (embeded in the firmwire). AND THAT IS BILLED AT THE NORMAL R-CONNECT RATES. on the other hand, u could make a voice call using at+cdv but u cannot send data over (unless ofcourse we develop a data2voice modem to be used on both sides, but even then I really doubt the feasiblity as there will be a lot of error correction needed due to data corruption thro disturbances.) Anyways.... put the thinking caps on guy... and let us know the moment an idea crops by... he he cheers Ashok
