Hey guys, I just wanted a small request from u all ... I wanted any Nokia CDMA user, who has a datacable, and who is a bit familiar with AT commands (Or If u stay in Mumbai, I can walk by), please contact me by PM / here. Coz, some wierd feeling in me tells that SMS thro AT is not impossible there. Cheers Guys Ashok

Hi U can also reset the LG RD2030 with a AT command .... try AT&V+IPR Cheers Ashok

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha Dude ... isnt that news from the era of the dinosaur ? well we do not specifically need the message center number, read my post carefully ... it is PRESET into the fone .. if u want more details please wait for my next post (or an edit of this post) Ashok

Thanks for the info ... now back to the topic... Brew info available on P2P are highly generalized and not quite useful considering technical issues of trying them out ... SMSC is there in CDMA systems as well but unlike the user feeding any message center number it is preset into the phone. in fact if u go thro the FS thro Bitpim / any other reader application ... U will see the message center number. BREW is the platform upon which the Qualcomm chip communication protocols have been designed... hence it would be rather safe to open the lock with the same key used to lock it.. rather than trying with Java (yes ... U can ACCESS THE FS USING JAVA... but I could not figure out how to WRITE anything up there... in fact therez a java applet to write ringtones into some models of LG (launched by Verizon)) which proves a point... that u Can do it ... PART 2 Today I was trying out a few AT commands using both hyperterminal as well as SERCOMM a util which was sent over by Static_Electricity , for the start, I did a small disassembly on the node software made by hotfoon to see how voice transmission is done with the mobiles and I found this out So To dial"12345" it uses : AT&FE0+cdv12345 To disconnect : AT+CHV Other findings : To set the mobile into Debug mode : AT$LGDMGO To allow a DATA CALL TO BE MADE : first set the mobile into DM, then AT$QCDMG ,then AT$QCQNC now a connect call to a number like *365 (data transimmsion test server) will go OTA AT+GMM : returns Mobile Manufacture info Dialer options : ATDT ATZ For Auto Dial : AT$QCPKND=0 else 1 TRY AT$USER_DIRS (I dont know why... this showed "1" once, and from then on it shows "ERROR" ) AT+HT AT+IPR ATDT123456789 (dials that number -- connects to it) ATH Hang up Phone AT+CXT Decides if a call will originate upon reception of an unknown AT Command AT&V+IPR - Restart AT+GMI - Manufacturer Information AT+GMR - Version Information AT+GSN - ESN Information AT+ICF - Serial Port Start Stop But I in my great excitement tried to change the baud rate of internal communication by first setting the phone into a verbose mode, and then specifying the baud rate: so I tried (DO NOT TRY THIS) AT&V+IPR=38400 The mobile hung... and after a restart, The mobile is detected by BitPim, QPST, GAGIN etc but not by Hyperterminal / Modem Query / Sercomm ..... Any1 has any sugessions?? please lemme know..... Till then I am searching around for more documentation ... so i will try to step into safer waters... Cheers.. Ashok

well priya I guess this is what u were looking out for, For eg. U wish to launch a service with a service number lik 4343 then u need to tie up with a mobile service provider (and since most mobile service providers have interconnections) your work gets done a lot simpler. In fact, tata is currently advertising this a lot, u could check up their site... and after u fill up the form, confirming interest... u get a call from an executive the very next day (that was in my case, asking specific details and costs involved..) The details with regard to charging can be discussed then... if u have any more queries u can contact me using a PM or on Y! messenger id : ashokfish Bye n Cheers Ashok Karkera

Hey we all use mobiles ... and how wonderful wouldnt it be ... if u could use ur mobile to control ur P.C ? ? ? Just like a VNC client ? check this out for starters Vnc2Go ByteStat is a simple byte histogram utility. It lets you visually see the byte histogram - how many times each byte value (0-255) appears in a file. ByteStat Check them out ... In the meantime I will upload a few home made stuff (busy guy! )

Thank you !! It is this appreciation that motivates us all!

Use bitpim, right click on the root folder and select "reboot phone" ... now no button clicks at all ... and above all no waiting for the battery to drain out completely
-
What is "CLIP"? 34287 Caller Line Identity Presentation, This is the feature, that allows your mobile phone / home fone to display the number of the caller!
-
Another option is using a Rs. 55/- Top up card and sms'ing to a friend who has a similar facility... Simple work
-
It is possible to Make / Receive calls / SMS thro the card... Seen it with a old collegue who was here in mumbai for a few days ... nice lil thingy ... and great Speeds... wish I could afford it (coz at the moment I am on a 64 kbps cable connection ... unlimited at just rs 375 /- per month), I mean 1500 PM seemed ok when I was working !! Anyway thatz a great product!!!
-
I think thatz the only option, if not sitting and typing all the SMS onto ur comp.... if Bitpim is not allowed to read the FS! All the best ...

Costs for HDD's have come down pretty much a 160 GB hard disk (Seagate Barracuda - with 5 year guarentee) comes at Rs. 3650 /- . I just got one yesterday. Hey munna, if u are in Mumbai, and stay near Lamington, u can come with me ... I keep going to these shops every now and then. The 600 bucks quoted by Munna is nothing but, a external Casing, in which u can put ur hard disk so it acts as a external USB drive rather than being inside the CPU.
-
You can add a room feature ... maybe u can use a few ideas from a Java Chat software which I had made some time back.. please Check this out (downloads section)! One more feature u can have is a user-name / password so u can be sure that the user "abc" is always "abc" and not some1 else. All the best! and keep up this great project! Lets see how far we can make the experience called Reliance - thrilling!!!
