MNP - Which Operator to Choose in Various Cities?
abhi.r replied to rajanmehta's topic in Mobile Number Portability (MNP)
Thank you Amit bhai. I will pay a visit to Aircel's office once i get back to Delhi. How is the Network availability when in Roaming on Aircel? It is available nationwide? OMG, just checked Aircell's website. They have freaking plans on BIS service... 999/month. Airtel on Postpaid is like: 599/month.. and Vodafone is another step ahead.. 1099/month. I thought Vodafone is as competitive as airtel. Ye log postpaid customers ko lootte kyu hai? All the good offers are for prepaid customers.. whereas they try to pursue users to become a postpaid subscriber. -
MNP - Which Operator to Choose in Various Cities?

I live in Delhi but I want to port my number from RCDMA to any other GSM network in Delhi. Currently my plan is as follows [im on ARP 1194 plan] .. Monthly Rental: Rs. 199/- Per month SMS Pack: Rs. 11/- Per month [super awesome deal] Free SMS/Month: Some Rs. XX (Dont Know the limit actually) Call Charges: 1p/sec local/std/roaming (in/out) SMS: 1p/sms [Rs.11/month pack] Local/National/Even on roaming (i love the roaming part here ) Data Charges: You all know how good RCDMA data charges are My SMS is virtually free because if I send 2000 SMS per month.. I get discount Rs.20 in my bill. PS: I do get Rs. 150 discount every month in my bill because of ARP 1194 Plan but thats not for long. Only for 8 Months (going to get over soon) Why I want to port even with this lovely plan.. 1) Data usage charges 2) No BIS on imported handsets I was thinking to convert to any GSM network, but want a plan which can at least try to match the above plan from RCOM. PS: 4 Out of 12 months a year.. I am out of Delhi.. so cheap calls/sms on Roaming is important for me. Any Suggestions plz? -
I was looking to use a EPABX for home use.. Currently my requirement is 2 phone lines to be dristributed into 3 rooms (2IN/3OUT). But I want to purchase a system which is compatible for future expansion. I don't know much about PBX systems. if anyone can help me in this regard.. which economical system/brand to purchase suitable for home use.

abhi.r replied to Arun's topic in Indian Telecom / General News
Hi friends, Just now I received a SMS from Reliance on my postpaid number saying.. Dear Customer, as per TRAI guidelines with effect from 1-Feb-2011 you can send upto 100 msm per day. Thank you. Reliance I am using Postpaid Plan with Re: 11/Month SMS pack (1p/sms). Wasting my time with customer care, i better thought I would get satisfactionary replies from members of our community. Want to know how far is it true? What will happen to those SMS packs users who get like 10k/20k SMS free(from other service providers). -

How about the keyboard when used in dark? Each and every key is properly illuminated? Prominently visible? I know ppc6700 is no comparison for this phone but keyboard of 6700 had the same problem. All keys were not properly visible.

How You Handle Calls missed due to active data connection?
abhi.r replied to phonegeek's topic in Data services
I diled *303XXXXXXXXXX (vodafone delhi number). and the IVR said "Call Forwarding Activated". But when I swtiched off my Reliance CDMA number, and dialed my RCDMA no from airtel landline phone, after few beeps heard a message "Please check the number you have dialed". does call forwarding takes some time to get really activated?? or is it instantenous? -
Why would reliance/tata get epic 4G where they are FAR FAR FAR away from 4G. whats the point to pay premium for 4G when you can never use it (not in the span period you wud be using official epic).

whichever you can have at your disposal first and cheaper!!!

better camera/picture quality... incredible or epic?

Hide And Password Protect Your Files And Folders For Free
abhi.r posted a topic in General Technical Discussion
I've been using this process to hide my stuffs in my computer, its simple its easy and its FREE. no worries of any piracy etc... etc... Anyways who cares about piracy when you you are in India following is the script. copy and paste it in notepad and save it as *.bat (a batch file). For layman... name the file as "run.bat" and save it where you want your folder to be. E.g.: if you want your protected folder to be in C:\ then save the file in C:\. If you want your protected folder to be in D:\New Folder\ then save the file in D:\new Folder\ Note: paste the above code in notepad and go to Edit>>Replace... and replace "My_folder" with a folder name of your choice and "pwd123" with a password of your choice. If you use any new folder name which do not exist, it will create one. How to use it... To hide: Run the .bat file, it will as to hide the folder (Y/N), press 'Y' if you want to hide the folder and its done To Unhide: Run the same file again, it will ask for the password. Put in the correct password and your folder again shows up. Pros: 1) easy to use 2) hides the content completely i.e., even Show Hidden Folders option enabled cannot show the hidden folder nor Windows search can search the contents of this folder. 3) I never faced any data loss or anything. 4) even if you forget your password you can always recover it by reading the batch file you created. Cons: 1) no encryption. therefore not advised for offices where data security is critical. In that case I suggest you to go for professional software. 2) Password can be hacked by any geek by reading the batch file. 3) It hides only 1 folder, for another folder you need another batch file. I've been using this on windows7 since a long time and didnt had any problem. Would like you guys to try it in Windows XP and vista and report. hopefully you wont face any problem there as well. NOTE: Only good for hiding your personel stuffs from your fren, parents,, boss etc... hehehehe -
