I bet its not less than 17K. the old 8330 was priced in the same range.
-
Hmm I hope other operators dont follow the same. but the supervisor i spoke to said all other operators has to do the same as its instructions from the TRAI. Either CAS or no Wireless at all.
-
Oh you mean to connect a wireless router directly to Beetel 440 BXi modem? and all other computers will be connected to this wireless router? Airtel baisc Modem ----->> Wireless Router ----->>> Desktop/Laptop/MobilePhones like this??
-
Yea, I thought of the same, as its going to cost me the same. They said if i do so, airtel will come to know about it and sooner or later airtel executive is going to visit your place and upgrade it to CAS system. because they service will be barred for those who are using wifi router and that too without CAS. He also said that they already atarting visiting and upgrading CAS for their old wifi users.

No dont think that airtel has Fixed Wimax in delhi, atleast not in my area. its a broadband fom Fixed Landline of airtel. I am currently using their regular modem Beetel 440BXi. Just wanted to upgrade to wireless modem, and this CAS thing came up
-
Oh yes, airtel guy said that you can use any many devices as u want to, but those devices are needed to be registered first via CAS which takes little time like 5-15 min to configure for the first time. Mobile Phones cannot be connected thru Wifi reason for that... they dont know

Defcon Hacker Eavesdrops on GSM based phone conversations for $1,500
abhi.r replied to Arun's topic in General Technical Discussion
read in a newpaper some times before that equipments to hack GSM, CDMA, even Blackberry e-mails is available in singapore's Shimling tower for just 200,000USD (appx). This equipment can cover a small area only and can listen and record any calls going and coming in that area. Good for corporate spies imo or political spies or tahelka.com people but Govt banned imports of such equipments few days ago. I wonder if Blackberry say their USP is their encryption and are not willing it to share with govt. agencies.. how come this equipment can record the mails coming and going thru blackberry devices? -
Heard about this on TV news channel about a week ago. Joy for those who fancy to use Blackberry but cannot afford their prices. "Now step into the world of BlackBerry with easy and affordable tariff plans on Vodafone Prepaid, starting at Rs. 15/day. Surf the net and access mail while on the move, stay connected with BlackBerry Messenger, catch up with friends on social networking sites, capture, replay and share priceless moments with multimedia applications on your Smartphone." Source: http://www.vodafone.in/existingusers/prepaid/pages/blackberryonprepaid.aspx?cid=del Vodafone is providing BIS services ranging from Rs. 15/Day to Rs. 399/month for their prepaid customers. Postpaid customers: You still need to wait. Rs. 15/day is awesome for people who needs Blackberry services only when they travel. though monthly charges is also very affordable. Hope to see more slashed rates from other operators in future!

Huawei Technologies Bans Indians In India
abhi.r replied to faizone's topic in Indian Telecom / General News
Well so this is what all about, and we suspected our bearucrat to be a crook and currupted and stop chinise mobile phone imports in India. I heard a news somewhere that DoT asked all companies like Nokia, SonyEricssosn, and others who have manufacturing plant in China to provide with the source code of the OS of their phones comes. Infact I belive banning RIM to run Blackberry services is also justified. If RIM can install a server in China then why not India?? I belive India is also as big market as China is. National Security must be the primary concern of everybody. -
I totally agree with Hetal here. Companies making products especially like printers for normal customers make the machine Cheap, and price their supported accessories at higher prices... HP follow the same method. I think every company follow this method. But when it comes to Mass pprinting and faster printitg... the choices are narrow and products costs huge amount. But main concern of the company is to make printing process as economical as possibial. because people who buy these expensive printers looks for economical solution for their mass printing. My fren bought a printer couple of mont ago, its of XEROX and capable of printing 48ppm in 1 minute both sided. It cost him mingbogling 3.5Lac Number of pages he needs to print per month is obviously a huge figure. But for small office and home printing (100~300 pages per day requirement), i think these cheap printers are very pretty good.

If case if you guys missed July 26th, 2010 Economics times... They are selling STORM 2 9550 @ Re: 21,490.00 Very exciting offer. Heres the picture.. -
Oh does that mean before this, programming a imported handset for RCDMA/TATA or any other orperator is illegal? Also after this law is passed does it means rooting android phones or jail breaking iPhones.. the warranty is stil valid??
-
Even I do agree as far as built quality is concerned.. iPhone>>HTC>>Nokia>>Sonyericsons = Samsung But if u work on a construction site where tehre are lots of dusts, and you tend to drop your phone every now and then from your pocket or your hand... go for NOKIA, that too only cheap handsets.. they are really stable. I use PPC 6700 since 3 yrs which once flew off my hand when i meet an accident on my fren's bike(that was the first scratch on my phone, but sad it wasant the last ) and many times the phone fell from my hand... never ever had any problem with my PPC 6700 untill recently when my phone fell while it was being charged, so the USB port connection broke from inside, and I got a new USB port in it in a local mobile repair shop. So I guess HTC phones are also very sturdy.

Best Android GSM phones available officially in India are.. Samsung Galaxy > Sonyericsons Xperia X10 > HTC Legend > Sonyericsons Xperia X10 mini Other android phones which is not officially available in India are .. HTC Desire > Nexus One I've heard that HTC Desire cost like 35~40k if imported from Hongkong. As on today iPhone 4 (unofficial) is available in Delhi @ 42k I wonder if Andriod is FREE of cost OS, then why phones running on android are so expensive
-
Yes... Very TRUE.. If iPhone dosent have it... I wonder why people whine over Samsung galaxy i899 for not having Bluetooth file transfer, where as it comes a lot cheaper than iPhones.

Please Suggest Better Handsets Available For Reliance Fixed Wireless Lines?
abhi.r posted a topic in Handset Suggestions
I bought a new reliance Fixed Wireless Connection from RCDMA. But the handset they provided is probably some low end model of ZTE. The sound quality at the sender's end and receiver's end ... both is very very poor. Are there any other better quality Fixed Wireless Handsets available which work with reliance? Where can i buy them? -
