Don't scare me bro. I already purchased a handset wo bhi GSM Ab to jald se jald 4G ka intezaar hai. So that I can see their poor service and move on to Vodafone or some other network. Coz i don't have high expectations from Rcom 4G

Sahi pakde hai! Ye Anil Ambani se koi bhi business theek se nhi hota. Ye galat family mein paida ho gaya. Bada bhai kahan pahuch gaya ye sala wahin ka wahin. Last time when I got a call from Reliance asking me to upgrade to 4G as services would start on 10-May. I rushed to buy a new handset. It's already 11-May but still no date has been given for 4G upgrade. Tareek pe Tareek x3

When I asked customer support that when are you shutting down CDMA, they say that they are not shutting it down, but rather upgrading to 4G.
-
CDMA is already dead in India. Probably because of their carrier locked handset policy it did not maintained its pace in India market.

http://newsmarkets.in/reliance-communications-to-continue-existing-cdma-tariffs-on-4g-upgrade-until-commercial-launch/ This say that until commercial launch of Rcom 4G (maybe by end of this year when Jio will also be launched) all CDMA postpaid plans will remain same. Also in Delhi and some other circles CDMA will be stopped by 31-May
-
Which circle u from?? Delhi / Postpaid

They are migrating all customers to 4g GSM This process doesn't req porting since u are not moving out of Rcom After migration process Customer will make calls on Rgsm 2g netowrk Data on 2g,3g and Jio4g 1800 and 2300 MHz Once cdma is closed 850mhz will come in So you mean from May 10(as informed by customer care to me today).. Voice calls on RGSM 2G/3G Data on Reliance 2G and Reliance 3G 4G data on Jio's Loop 4G network... Till they decide to stop CDMA and use 800/850 band for their own Reliance 4G? Damn, I shouldn't have registered for 4G SIM
-
Damn, I shouldn't have register my 4G Sim. But I still have some outstanding payment, that means my number will not to migrated to 4G on 10-May
-
If this is the case, they will have to run CDMA and 4G on same spectrum simultaneously. Is that possible?
-
I still have about 200 outstanding payment on my number but I've registered for 4G.
-
Just now I got a call from Reliance saying that on 10th May the 4G services will start and my number will be migrated to 4G. When I asked what will happen to my CDMA number.. He said.. "sorry uske liye main kuch bhi nahi kar sakta hu" hahahaha. Typical Reliance staff

Prepaid number or Post paid? Which circle?

Hardware Purchase Suggestion Requests

As everybody wants to jump to 4G bandwagon as soon as possible. My compulsion to change handset as CDMA will stop working soon coz my Sprint HTC One M7 wont support 4G. So I was planning to buy Samsung Galaxy Note 5 (Single Sim/32GB) from India. These days there's 10% Cashback offer from Samsung. So Note 5 would cost me appx Rs. 35000~36000. This offer is valid till 15-May. Should i buy now or wait for CDMA to shutdown and 4G to start?? -
Just now I spoke to Reliance Customer Care. *222 The customer care guy told me this... a) They do not have specific date for launch of 4G in Delhi, but they say its "very soon". Hope it's not Reliance Jio's "very soon" ^^ Right now I just need to register my CDMA number to new 4G sim. (by sms or call to 1299) c) My CDMA number will remain active for some time. d) The day 4G is launched... CDMA will stop working and I can start using Reliance 4G thru new sim. And yes, he told me that CDMA and 4G cannot coexist. CDMA will stop working, then only 4G will start.
-
The only reason I'm in a hurry is because my imported handset will become useless after the migration and now I'm getting really good offer on Samsung Galaxy Note 5 PS: Thank you mods ^^
-
Sorry, in my previous post.. I mean Band 5 (800Mhz) not Band 3.
-
Anyone in Delhi can search for networks on their 4G handsets and confirm whether "Reliance 4G" is shown?? This would confirm whether Reliance 4G signals are live in Delhi circle or not! The phone I used to search did not had Band 3. So may be that is the reason it did not showed "Reliane 4G"
-
The 4G sim is now working on GSM/2G/3G only. If you search networks available on your handset, you will not be able to find Reliance 4G (at least in Delhi). I went to Reliance Web World and asked them for a 4G demo, they said that 4G Data cards have not yet arrived. And 4G will be launched anytime soon. But no tentative date was given for shutting down CDMA in Delhi.
-
I think you need to have a GSM or 4G handset before you register thru SMS as per their instructions. Once you register, your CDMA sim will stop working and GSM/4G sim will start.
-
Today I put my Reliance 4G LTE sim into a 4G handset of my friend to check whether 4G network is there in Delhi or not. As in first pic you could see that SIM 1 do not show any bars, rather there is 'X' mark. And there is no Reliance 4G network. Only Loop 4G, Airtel 4G and Vodafone 4G Not even Jio in Delhi. Oh, just checked now that the handset of my friend is Lenovo S90 and it has only Band 1, 3 and 41. Maybe that is the reason handset shows no network.
-
The service is yet to be launched and before that your CDMA SIM would get deactivated. So you mean in order to launch 4G Services (in real), they first have to deactivate/stop CDMA services? Both services cannot go together for some time and then completely switch to 4G?
-
Anyone has switched to reliance 4g LTE from CDMA yet? Where are you located, and how's the experience?
-
So I shouldn't rush and switch my handset to 4G LTE? Rather stick with RCDMA? I'm in Delhi circle, and customer care person told me that 31-May is last day of CDMA in Delhi. Whereas the reliance store guys didn't have any such knowledge that when CDMA service would be terminated. I'm confused, coz I really don't want to change my CDMA handset for about coming 6-8 months.
