i think static or code already mentioned that both the phones use completely different components or technology ... cant convert from one to another - what is common is probably only the keypad ... check that post out
  2. T9 On Rd2130

i've noticed this happen on my set too ... but words like "mahidhar" which i keep using very frequently get identified ... so i have a feeling, it accepts words that you keep using frequently and not words you would use once or twice
  3. Gtran vs Lg5130

except for the 140 char sms problem, nobody has reported any other problem with this handset ... ofcourse, not many have this set ... so v'l have to wait for the reviews to come in - all those who own this set please submit ur report v're all waiting ...
  4. Mtnl Wll Tariff

the rates are unbeatable RIM can no way match these rates ... the lowest they have now is the joy 399 plan with all call charges Rs1 per minute ... guess they have real competition this time !!! and that too the 12 sc pulse is .. i've got no words
  5. raccoon is absolutely right, lodge a complaint with the police and do one thing ... dont pay up so early this time. drop your bill elsewhere - DO NOT drop it in this crazy shop ... and when they call, tell them to ... :'(
  6. Reliance to cut post-paid tariffs, too By Business Correspondent Mid-day At a time when owning a prepaid GSM cell phone is becoming increasingly expensive, Reliance Infocomm has made its prepaid tariff cheaper than its post paid tariff. The company now plans to cut its post paid tariffs as well. “We plan to introduce new tariffs for the post paid segment in the second half of this month,” says S P Shukla, head, wireless products and services, Reliance Infocomm. Before the rate cuts, RIM post paid tariffs were 40 per cent cheaper compared to the prepaid tariffs. While other GSM operators have hiked rates for prepaid users, Reliance Infocomm has slashed its rates aiming to cross the one crore mark of users. “With the launch of this prepaid hungama, we intend to gather a dominant subscriber base in the prepaid segment,” says Shukla. Reliance’s new prepaid tariff is applicable on new vouchers worth Rs 325 or more purchased on or after August 15. Prepaid users typically account for almost 75 per cent of the GSM cellular market. But in the case of RIM, these account for a minority of its user base. “We will introduce another handset in September and subsequently add a new handset every month for the next 12 months,” says Shukla.
  7. there's a new section on the RIM website called "all about 93" ... check it out
  8. Windows Xp Service Pack2

hey ppl, check if your copy is licensed; there was an issue with SP2 where it would not update if the pirated keys were found on the system - dont put yourself in **** if u have an original copy, go ahead otherwise jus chuck the idea
  9. Cracked LCD

btw, when we talk about liquid crystal displays (LCD's), there is a very very thin layer of liquid crystal inbetween two layers of polarised glass material . it is very very thin ... so there's no way liquid will ooze out of it...
  10. Convert CDMA phone to GSM phone or Vice-versa

hey dude ... Greens is right. you can roam with CDMA handsets having the RUIM provision (Telson and the GTRAN as of now) on GSM networks. if u wanna roam with a GSM handset, reliance provides you with a SIM card. check this out from their website : again here they mention about the CDMA sets :
  11. Should Tele Marketing Be Banned ?

all this sounds interesting.... but what if inspite of registering yourself with the do-not-call lists, u still keep getting calls ? we really dont have the required system to track down these people and even if we do, they will somehow manage to get away
  12. Nokia 3205 Cdma

What do u mean by "existing" 3105 ?

  15. Voice Ringtone For RIM phones

even the bird ringtone is not a voice tone... in the voice tones u can actually hear somebody say something like "pick up the phone ... "
  16. Using Rd2130 In Europe

first thing, i'm not sure if you can use the 2130 for international roaming. you have to approach the WW and they'll give you a SIM which you have to use with your GSM mobile. Follow the link and read on ... International Roaming Hope this makes thinks clear
  17. All about LG 5130

i think you better wait and watch ... in a news clipping which i've posted, it says reliance is going to introduce a new phone in september and one every month after that for a whole year so prices are bound to crash once the new ones come in ... don't waste your money. you should have learnt with reliance "never pounce ... wait and watch"
  18. All about LG 5130

hey ppl ... the RIM site has been updated and shows the 5130 you can check out the looks and the features under handset experience ...
  19. yeah ... my friend was told that if a person had an outstanding amount of 35,000 then he would have to pay 10,000 first to bring it to 25,000 and after this pay another 2000 to convert to prepaid. so they're still using the 25,000 benchmark. so chirag, i guess defaulters are allowed to talk for 25,000 and pay nothing !
  20. Problem with Travel Charger

i wouldnt know about your phone ... but on the LG phones, the travel charger takes about an hour or hour and a half more than the desktop model to charge the phone fully ... but the advantage is that the charge lasts much longer its a fact !
  21. Rim Challenges Industry High Tariffs

when u get down and make calculations, u find that its not really a very cool offer. its jus that it helps a lot when u make a lot of calls to other RIM's... otherwise there's not much of a difference when u call other mobiles or landlines (its because the talktime surely would have been reduced to 151 from the current 200)
  22. Rim Challenges Industry High Tariffs

that means the advantage 99 has been extended all over ... its not restricted to Tamilnadu and Chennai anymore ... but i'm still wondering - the cellular operators had accused RIM of providing "predatory" tariffs ... wonder what they'll do now it's all over India now i guess they're talking about the 5130 colour handset ... what else could it be ? there's no other set for 5k ... have to wait and watch
