wish i had known this earlier !!! i bought one three months ago !! they asked me to pay something like 1200 for the desktop charger ... when i asked for a cheaper alternative, they suggested the travel charger for 550 !!!

the travel charger is cheaper than the normal charger ... its about Rs 550 for the LG 2030 .... i dont know the cost for the samsung counterpart ... u have to find out .. it plugs into the data port of ur phone ...

dont think trai will change the pulse rate ... even tata has been forced to change to 60 sec from the previous 15 sec pulse rate ... its sad but true !

dont think many ppl would be interested in using R world ... think of the stuff it offers ... i mean u could listen to all those songs and videos , that too when u've got nothin else to do ! and very few of us use the banking facility (im assuming!), its got the worst ringtones ! dont c r world really taking off in future too ...

when i asked the customer care guy, he told me that we're charged only for the data transfer and not for how long u brwose ... only when ur phone is conencted and getting data from a server u get charged ... u are not charged when its idle

i dont think we'll b charged for getting into r world .. i think we'll be charged for data transfer once we're in ... something like using r conect where ur charged for the data transfer and not for the time of ur browsing session ... 8 more days and everything will become clear !

they definately need something more concrete ... the unbilled info reduces call amount the next day but sms cost takes atleast 2 days to get updated ! sometimes it shoots up after 3 days ... ur right, they should prob include that service in the 1234 services ...

hey ashok, u must b knowing this .. but anyways for those who dont, when ur in R world and u wanna come out without going back to the previous menu, just keep the end button pressed in lg 2030 ... press it for about 7 sec and it'll get out of r world ... dont know if it works on other models ..

R world is just getting better and better day by day ... people would def not mind paying a nominal amount for using it ... if its something like the CLIP charge, a little more too will not be a prob ... as long as they dont charge something like Rp 1.50 pm !! dont thing they will because they know the number of hits everyday ...

if 2003 has the compatibility mode like xp has, u could probably give it a shot by installing it in the win98 mode ... right click on the setup file after copying it to HDD and select properties ... under compatibility, select windows 98 ... try running it (i'm assuming 2003 has this mode ) ...

it happened to a friend of mine ... he was out of his circle, he had to make a payment cause his bill was going pretty high ... once he paid up, there was no prob therafter ... but even if you do pay, ask for a receipt ... dont forget. you might be charged again in the bill, in which case you can claim ...
