Hardware Purchase Suggestion Requests

Right, I meant it draws power from the usb port of thr the tv and not from hdmi port. The essence is that it doesn't require any external power. Sent from HTC M8 using Tapatalk. -

I haven't done extensive testing regarding on which all instances it requires Internet. But I am sure it requires whenever you start it. Further, it draws power from the hdmi itself. Sent from HTC M8 using Tapatalk. -

Hardware Purchase Suggestion Requests

I have been using Google Chromecast for over 4-5 months and I can say that its the best piece of streaming device available in the market. Pros: 1. Simple setup, just plug and play. 2. Stream from multiple device and with the new update, it can stream from devices which are not connected to your wifi. 3. Regular updates from Google 4. Tons of Chromecast app available in the Google Play market. You can stream video/audio,play some simple games, draw on the TV and many more. https://www.google.com/chrome/devices/chromecast/apps.html 5. Can stream from local media stored on Phone/PC/NAS/etc 6. Deeply integrated with Google and Android. Cons 1. Requires internet connection to start on. You can continue to stream from local media even when there is no internet connection. 2. Few formats are not yet supported but then you can plenty of apps which can circumvent this restrictions like plex. Hope it helps -

[Tutorial] How to unlock HTC ONE M8 SPRINT for GSM?
phonegeek replied to Akhilesh Chowdary Bojedla's topic in Tutorial and Guides
You have 2 options. 1. Use sunshine, get it s off and then unlock it. Sunshine will set you back by 25$ but opens up lot of options after you do s-off. 2. Use custom ROM like Badboys and unlock it. The method is mentioned in the second post of the thread. -

Suggesting without knowing the budget and preferences for Camera/battery/Brand preference/warranty/size/primary usage/etc would be like shooting in the dark.

phonegeek replied to rajanmehta's topic in Android
Nova Launcher now includes a action button for searching app. I am finding it very useful where you don't have to search for the apps in the drawer. Try it. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.teslacoilsw.launcher&hl=en (Long press - Nova Actions - App Search)- 1,081 replies

Sprint Note 3: No Data through RUIM After ##786# Hard Reset
phonegeek replied to RIM-JPR's topic in Samsung
Well, I am really annoyed by this handset which is not letting data work on it Here is what I have done and remain successful. 1. Done RTN, programming with NV dump, wrote MDN/MIN, changed to RUIM Mode, made active profile as 0. 2. All above and changed to India mode in Korea mode. 3. Done RTN, deleted all the MIP profiles. I dont know how to diagnose what is wrong with the handset. Looking forward to all your suggestions. -

ShopAndShip / PPO Box & other package forwarders
phonegeek replied to caringlover's topic in General Technical Discussion
Hi. Just spoke to both their NY office and USPS Mid-Town Post Office. Apparently, another package is also missing. They are sending someone to check with the Post office. Have also raised a complaint with both Mid Town Post Office and USPS Customer service. Any update you got? Wondering if I should use PPObox now. Anyone used Stackry or airmailpost? Any other recommended service? Want to ship a mobile... Issue sorted now. Take Signature confirmation and Insurance, if you`re USPS with PPObox. It would be very great if you can explain in detail how the issue got resolved.
