Means your old SIM has been deactivated but new SIM has not been activated
-
Faced this issue during first week of June. If you are registered with myservices, log in and check the status of your connection in the home page. If its simply "Postpaid Mobile" or "Prepaid Mobile" then your number has not been migrated to new SIM. The new SIM will work only after status changes to "LTE4G_POSTPAID" or "LTE4G_PREPAID" as the case may be. If you have not been migrated, immediately send EMail to nodal officer of your circle with copy to appellate authority.

Review : Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 2GB/16GB 4G VoLTE CDMA/GSM

SIM Tool > roaming > National [turn on] -
In Kolkata unable to register on 4G network, even though it shows on search in RN3. As per latest postpaid bill received, they credited 10 GB on the date of original conversion itself and adjusted the 3G data use of June month against this.

are you able to register on 4G network and get data?

Reliance Digital shops are refusing to accept E-Aadhar as a vaid document even though the Govt has declared that E-Aadhar will rank same as normal aadhar card. -
I faced same issue with my Delhi connection that I am using on roaming in Kolkata. In Kolkata the CDMA network went down on 31st May night. My Delhi LTE was not activated. Was totally cut off for 3 days. Finally sent Email to nodal officer. The LTE SIM was activated within 12 hrs of sending Email. The nodal officer also reverted back with an EMail that the service has been activated. What alerted me to the situation was that in Myservices home page, my Kolkata number, where LTE was activated, showed service status as "LTE_POSTPAID" whereas the Delhi number showed status as "Postpaid mobile". Check status in Myservices, if status is not changed to LTE_POSTPAID or LTE_PREPAID, then LTE SIM has not been activated from backend.

JIO SIM without LYF handset

after 3 months, for most people the novelty factor would have worn off and they would be happy with any decent plan of 10-20 GB (provided they don't leave it in the hands of an angry wife and go on tour) -

Many banks now provide Hand held POS with in built SIM slot that can directly connect to the server. The banker will be the best person to discuss this with.

Will this imported CDMA phone work with RUIM of indian Operators?
commonman replied to abhijeetv2's topic in Technical / OS related
CDMA in India is almost dead. As of now, only BSNL, MTS and TATA are working in limited circles. MTS has been taken over by RCom and RCom has already announced that it would be converting the MTS spectrum to LTE. So its only a matter of time before MTS CDMA is shut down. TATA has also announced that it would be closing CDMA services. BSNL has already shut down CDMA in several circles including Kolkata. Officially they have not indicated anything for remaining circles but is expected to shut down in remaining circles soon. So practically no point in going for a high end CDMA handset at this stage. -
Yes. In my case the unlimited plan was activated 2 days after the base pack. Usage is first charged against the base pack and then against unlimited pack.

@NanduNaada Thanks. USB tethering with W8968 did not work. Router did not recognise the mobile. But your reference of range extender reminded me of the old TPLink MR3020 that I earlier used and I remembered it had some AP option. Fished it out. Searched on the web and found a few videos. In AP configuration it had the option of Repeater. Seems to be working. Though MR3020 does not provide as much range as W8968, still it now provides enough signal to access from most parts of my flat. Only downside is, to use my printer via network, I have to switch to W6968.

In Kolkata RCom 4G network is shown (405 12 4G) but SIM is not registering even manually
-
RCom 2G network is not capable of taking the load of existing GSM customers. After the full load of CDMA customers are also placed into it, it would start breaking at the seams. The only way to save itself is to offer VoLTE on its own earstwhile CDMA spectrum. That way, a major chunk of the old CDMA customers and also some GSM customers would shift to VoLTE and the 2G network would be able to take of the remaining customers who are using basic 2G handsets, and may be even convert a part of the 2G network to 4G. Even then, it would be a winning proposition for Jio, as they will be gaining access to Band 5 spectrum which is supposed to offer superior services and more cost effective as compared to Band 3/Band 40. I am personally using JIO for last 10 days and I am convinced that they have hit the jackpot with their value added services. Its the perfect option for young and upwardly mobile, who are forced to roam around in their job and do not want to invest heavily on personal effects like TV/Cable connections, Music systems or does not even have the time to go and watch a movie. Its communication and entertainment rolled into one. One single connection taking care of both. As long as they price it reasonably, it would be super hit with the young generation.

Google Services Framework is using too much data when on wifi. This month inB 21 days it has used 4 GB. Any idea why? -
If you have been using RCDMA as a secondary number and need a new handset, then this is really the best option. OEM is Haier, as against other useless chinese companies in case of Flame or Wind 6. As long as you do not intent to use this as the primary handset and do not load too many apps it would work fine. Build is not that back and has a good grip. Touch is also reasonably well. You can use it as a mobile hotspot for your primary handset. Jio Play/Beats/Movie apps working perfectly on other android sets with same user ID, as long as connection is routed through wind4 via mobile hotspot.

From my personal experience with 2 Postpaid and 1 Prepaid numbers, for Postpaid, there is no change in plan and existing plan is continuing but for prepaid plan is changed. If you want to port out, you need to generate the UPC immediately. Once service shuts down, it would be impossible to generate UPC.

Suggestions for Moto G (4th gen) for Reliance 4G LTE
commonman replied to paragshah's topic in Handset Suggestions
Right now there is no Reliance 4G network anywhere in India. The so called LTE SIMs are working on 2G/3G only. So wait at least till they come up with proper 4G in some circles
