Review : Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 2GB/16GB 4G VoLTE CDMA/GSM
commonman replied to dkaile's topic in Other handsets
Yes. You don't have choice as CDMA won't accept +91. Earlier some imported phone had option to change + to desire number while dialling but that didn't work for SMS. Also search the forum, there might be a link to change the prefix in +91.. I have ZTE N919D with RCDMA + Airtel. All my numbers are saved in +91 format. But RCDMA dials out without a problem. -
So far I have not received "SIM is now ready for upgrade" SMS in my Kolkata number. Got SMS in my Delhi number. So, I think Kolkata is yet to start.

Please report back what you actually got

Road forward for MTS prepaid/postpaid connections
commonman replied to mywebid's topic in Other Network / Cellular Providers
MTS network in Kolkata has also started to fluctuate. Most of the times it is working as if on Rev.A -

Does it support Band 5? As per GSM Arena, the Indian model does not support Band 5.

Which store in Delhi you got the sim & what did you tell them about, any docs or any other queries the store people asked? Regards Sent from my NX505J using Tapatalk I have a question, if anybody could answer. One of my friend has Reliance Wipod in Delhi NCR circle. It is a wifi dongle. All of sudden it stopped working. When called the customer care, they said that some document is missing but they didn't knew that which document is missing. The connection is already one year old. I am puzzled why it stopped working. Is it related to 4G network upgrade. At the same time I have been following this topic and have never seen Delhi NCR being mentioned in RCOM plan to upgrade at the moment. Please guide what to do. Also advice which wifi dongle could work well if it has to be used in Delhi NCR, lucknow and sparingly in Kolkata. Delhi-NCR is already upgraded and people are collecting 4G SIM However, Delhi-NCR also has MTS service and as per one of the posts by @mitJ@in Rev.A dongles are needed to be exchanged with Rev.B wipods which are supposed to work on MTS network. Kolkata also has MTS network. But Lucknow is not having MTS network.

Review : Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 2GB/16GB 4G VoLTE CDMA/GSM
commonman replied to dkaile's topic in Other handsets
They are creating a hype. Yesterday some people could get 32 GB. But in the long run, this is going to damage their business. -
Review : Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 2GB/16GB 4G VoLTE CDMA/GSM

there is too much off topic comments in this thread making it extremely difficult for someone who has specifically opened it to have a "review" of RM3. Request MODs to clean the thread. -

I have Delhi postpaid and Delhi prepaid CDMA SIM on roaming in Kolkata. Would it be possible to activate 4G from Kolkata Will old postpaid plans and existing prepaid balance continue in 4G (confused due to the requirement of FRC and free calls)

Free Upgrade to RevB WiPod for existing NetConnect+ HSD RevA Customers in Delhi
commonman replied to @mitJ@in's topic in Data services
Now why would RCom offer Rev.B wipod if they are going to shut down CDMA and switch to LTE. Once CDMA is shut down, these wipods would become paperweights. There is of course the fact that RCom also has MTS spectrum in Delhi circle. -
Yes it even has VoLTE. But the only problem is 1 GB RAM which is grossly inadequate for latest android. Just Google play and services apps take up 300 MB.

In the Paytm/RCom link Intex Aqua Super is available for around 6K. Prima facie, seems to a much better phone than the Lyf handsets at same pricepoint. Any actual review of this phone available?

In the specifications for WiPod only LTE bands are indicated. No GSM fallback. Also it says "FUNCTION>VoLTE (options)" Any idea what that means?
-
^^^ The customer reaction is really interesting in the twitter link I think even now they are going to make available 2GB/16GB versions only I would prefer Amazon only as then there is option of 5-10% discount by using Amazon gift cards.
-
What seems strange is many of the phones listed in paytm link does not even support LTE Band 5
-
Yes VoLTE would be a much better option. Otherwise I may have to port one of my RCDMA number to some other service provider and keep one RCDMA number just for data.
-
@VA yes they have also expanded the list. And the cashback is now 12%
-
As per microsoft website Lumia 640 XL LTE supports Band 3, 5 and 40. But does it support VoLTE?

^^ Not if they have themselves voluntarily shifted to higher price services.
