He is telling a blatant lie when he is claiming that BSNL is not having 800 Mhz spectrum. They had it, that too at throwaway prices, and surrendered it. Now they want 700 Mhz, a spectrum which has so far been exclusively used by the Armed forces, and expect the handset manufacturers to make handsets that support LTE at 700 Mhz and also expect the customers to buy them. Govt should completely withdraw from non-core sectors like telecom and concentrate of core sectors like Healthcare, defence and education.

yes BSNL had 800 mhz CDMA spectrum right from the start

Already cremated. Now only memorial service left.

Mujesh forced the death of RCom CDMA as even with Jio offers RCDMA was still cheaper for data. RCOM.CO.IN is now mirroring the website of Reliance energy.

MNP to Jio 4g (Postpaid / Prepaid)
commonman replied to ayaz_cool's topic in Reliance Jio 4G LTE (Prepaid & Postpaid)
This should be an eye opener to all not to do porting from any of the "agents". -
Those were the CDMA days. The downfall of RCom started with the forced switch to LTE.
-
BSNL was given 4G spectrum which they surrendered themselves

MNP to Jio 4g (Postpaid / Prepaid)

You are not supposed to pay anything at the time of initiating porting. You are to recharge only after the number has been successfully ported. -

I have faced this problem in certain locations of Guwahati. Jio signals will go all of a sudden. But if I initiate manual search, Jio 4G signals are available and SIM gets registered again. -

#1 One of my RCom postpaid no was in the name of my late mother. For obvious reasons her documents or fingerprint was not possible to be provided. Ported to Airtel postpaid in my name by quoting the porting code and giving my adhaar and biometrics without any issue. Did not even tell them that it was not earlier in my name. #2 If porting request was already initiated, no fresh port request can be initiated unless the earlier process has been completed, successfully or by rejection #3 No handset in market supports dual active 4G. Some claim dual standby 4G (i.e. both SIM can support 4G individualy) but work only in active 4G + Active 2G mode. Only few works in Active 4G + Active 3G mode. I found RN3 and RN4 supporting this. Call clarity of second SIM is better if it supports Active 3G. But Jio does not support 3G. So if you switch to 4G in second SIM, Jio will stop completely. -

1 > To my understanding, Jio4G Voice does not work on VoLTE phones. Also remember that Jio4G eats too much RAM, extremely buggy and will data mine everything in your phone. 2 > No 3 > Yes. Android hotspot has certain inherrent limitation. Depending on which SIM you use more extensively, rather you can buy a regular "dumb" phone with long battery backup and put either BSNL or Airtel SIM in it. -

Finally got Huawei E5673s 4G Mobile Wi-Fi Router from Amazon at 2199 after cashback. -
FRC was necessary for Vada. Before FRC, all of the online portals returned transaction failure for Etopup. After I did FRC, online Etopup was possible immediately.

jio offering same for less. just trying to keep their customers from porting out.

My both numbers were postpaid. For one, I had paid extra last month so there was a credit bill with small amount. In the other, about 400 was the last bill generated as per instacare which I paid before initiating porting process. Both numbers are now successfully ported.
-
One of the number I ported was in the name of my late mother with a different address, though personal connection. I changed it to Airtel postpaid in my name with only Adhaar PoS / biometrics. Airtel express is possibly a mini-franchise and not main outlet.
-
Why they should take photo? now even photo is pulled from Adhaar database. that was my experience with porting 1 number to voda and 1 to airtel. only told them the porting code and my adhaar no and did biometric verification in their machine, 2 times in case of airtel and 3 times in case of vodafone. all data entry was done at PoS and thereafter details were processed at the backend. I specifically asked and both of them confirmed that it is purely online process there would be no requirement of physical transfer of document at any stage. they did not even ask for final bill of RCom. I was already having porting code. is your address different from the Adhaar address? otherwise, even address is pulled from Adhaar. did you go to main outlet or local neighborhood shop?

Adhaar is "portable". The linked address can be changed from one State to another. The process takes about 7 days. Once changed, all Adhaar authorization request returns the new address only. I have personally changed it from NCR to Kolkata 1 year back.
