Most Awaited Reliance Netconnect Plans For Prepaid CDMA Mobile Users
commonman replied to @mitJ@in's topic in Data services
I have long back stopped waiting and waiting for good data plans from R-CDMA. Still use my R-CDMA, but only for STD and local voice calls and SMS (with simple FV399 plan and a basic handset that gives long battery backup). For my mobile data and ISD voice call needs I switched to MTNL 3G on Android phone about 18 months back. Carrying two handsets seemed troublesome initially but now got adjusted to it. At home I have unlimited broadband and as a back up a MTS data card, both connected to a 3G router. -

RIL's 4G Broadband To Offer Exclusive Content & Spectacular Speed At Dirt-Cheap Rates
commonman replied to KumaarShah's topic in Reliance Jio 4G LTE (Prepaid & Postpaid)
the big question is how long will the customers wait. the Indian customers are now grabbing cheaper datawind/Chinese tablets and also getting data services to run that. once they already have them, they would compare the total cost of shifting from this combination to any offer from RIL. and we all know how price sensitive the Indian customers can be. -

you need to decide what you want. Do you want an insurance cover or an investment option? A product that tries to achieve both ends up achieving none. It is like a multipurpose river-dam project where one objective is flood control (for which the dam must be kept empty all the time) and the other objective is irrigation (for which the dam needs to be kept full). In the end it is neither kept full nor empty but half full. So when the flood really comes, it can not control it and again when drought comes, it can not provide enough water for irrigation. Separate your insurance and investment needs. Go for pure term policies to take care of your insurance needs at very nominal premiums. Utilise the balance amount in hand for pure investment products. If you do not want to take risk, go for the tax-free bonds now available. Very good options for those who are in 30% tax bracket. Utilise the Rs.1 lakh per year limit for PPF - the interest is taxfree. If you want to take some risk, go for Gold ETF or mutual fund. The only exception to the above rule is for those who are Defence or Central/State Govt or PSU employees. Take an endowment policy under Postal Life Insurance (Max. limit Rs.10 lakh face value). It provides life insurance and also consistently has declared 7% annual return (in form of bonus) for past several years.

Pre Paid Users Can Get A Bill By Paying Rs.50
commonman replied to KumaarShah's topic in Indian Telecom / General News
so now subscribers would start receiving SMS in the format - "dear customer, your request for itemised billing has been processed and Rs.50 deducted from your account. your bill has been despatched to your registered address". and the customer would run from pillar to post to prove that he had not sent any request. -

Yeah, it is WiFi only. Not worth it ? if your existing mobile handset can function as a wifi router then its good deal.- 6,376 replies

I would suggest you use two numbers. MTNL for 3G data, 3G video call and ISD calls and any other for local/STD voice. I use MTNL & R-CDMA but that needs two handsets. If you use MTNL 3G & any other GSM, there are several dual SIM handsets available

the wonder called dual SIM phone. we even forced Nokia to start making them.

I agree. while airtel and vodaphone are supposed to be the best in my locality both provides the worst possible service. RCDMA provides better service and MTS is possibly the best. Again at my office MTS provides the worst service. Given that DELHI-NCR service area covers very large area there can not be a single best solution.

Grievances Against E-Selling Websites

does FDI in retail cover e-commerce sites also? -
I was under the impression that the service started in 2003 (when I got my DAPO). that would make it little less than 9 years.
-
depends from area to area. delhi service area covers huge geographical area including noida, ghaziabad, gurgaon and faridabad. though contrary to above I have not faced any trouble with R-CDMA since its lauch in 2003. I also use Airtel and MTNL and both have some dark spots where signal strength drops sharply. can not say about other providers. some of my friends have also said good things about MTS.
