Airtel PB charges money for withdrawing cash. Digibank gives free access to all ATMs of all banks. For most people it would not be the only bank. They already have some other bank. So UPI based transfer is never an issue.
-
DBS Digibank is better than any payment bank with additional benefits.

As already indicated earlier, even the Vodafone guy tried to push postpaid but when I said very roughly that I want only prepaid or otherwise I am leaving, he went ahead with prepaid without any further attempt of misguiding. Both Airtel and Vodafone are paying good commission for postpaid. Thats why, the front desk people are trying to only push postpaid.
-
Depends on which State your Adhaar belongs to. If its of UPE, you can port without any problem to Vodafone UPE. If your Adhaar is of Delhi/Ghaziabad/NOIDA, I suggest you to port to Vodafone Delhi.

My friend had ported his number from Kolkata to Assam last year.

MNP to Jio 4g (Postpaid / Prepaid)
commonman replied to ayaz_cool's topic in Reliance Jio 4G LTE (Prepaid & Postpaid)
I initiated porting of 2 numbers last week. Delhi postpaid to Vodafone Kolkata prepaid and Kolkata postpaid to Airtel Kolkata corporate postpaid. Even at vodafone store, the guy first tried to push postpaid saying the RCom to prepaid has problems. But when I said that then I will try some other operator, he quietly went ahead with prepaid. The he also advised to do FRC of 177 after activation. But as indicated by someone in another thread, apparently MNP numbers does not need FRC and can directly go for regular recharges. The Airtel guy came to my home for doing the formalities, benefit of corporate connection. He said that for RCom number MNP they are given extra money and so they are working even on Saturday and Sunday and they get more for postpaid. When I match the two experience, clearly, the sales guys are just trying to maximize their income by pushing postpaid, saying one thing or other. In case of Vodafone, got SMS that my request has been received. In case of Airtel got multiple SMS, the last one saying that my porting request has been sent o RCom for approval. -
thats interesting. so my suspicions about the vodafone guy was correct.
-
Any idea what are the FRC options for Voda? their site seems very confusing.

Reliance Jio Latest Offers!
commonman replied to LTE4G's topic in Reliance Jio 4G LTE (Prepaid & Postpaid)
For a user who uses more than 1 GB daily, using 999+499 together is also better, instead of getting costly booster. The daily 1 GB plan will first be used and then the remaining use will be taken from the quota of 999 plan. -
Initiated porting of my Delhi postpaid to Kolkata Vodafone prepaid. Did ekyc using Adhaar. The number is now backup no and mainly required for receiving bank OTP. The guy at the store tried to push some 199 postpaid plan even after I specifically said I want prepaid and I had to raise my voice a little to make him drop the idea. He also said I will need to do FRC of 177 after porting. But I have doubt on his integrity. Is it necessary to do the FRC? Or I can simply do any full value top-up?

I had one MTS Kolkata smartphone SIM prepaid that was mainly being used occasionally for data in a datacard. There was no balance available right now and had not recharged it for more than a month. Today inserted the SIM in a CDMA phone. In 5 minutes got porting code by SMS from Reliance automatically.
-
As expected, they are converting MTS CDMA network to 4G LTE Will 4G upgrade be through portout code or in the came process as RCom CDMA to 4G switch?
-
I have received portout codes for 3 numbers. 2 postpaid, 1 prepaid. all 3 are used in 4G handsets.
-
Which circle. Airtel site indicates unlimited postpaid 20 GB cost as 499 Voda is known to never authorise MNP codes for postpaid customers
-
unlimited voice + 20 GB is postpaid plan or prepaid? Never go for postpaid with voda.
-
If you have a 4G VoLTE phone or want to purchase one immediately, go for Jio. otherwise, go for Airtel.
-
To "..... remain with reliance family....", one may need a new 4G handset. If this development had come a month back, would have thought of getting a new 4G handset in the online diwali sale. Now, the only option is to port to either Airtel or Vodafone.

Received port out codes for 1 Delhi postpaid, 1 Delhi prepaid and 1 Kolkata postpaid numbers. All 4G SIM converted from CDMA. Kolkata SIM was also on High ARPU plan and regularly used for 4G and voice. As they intend to focus on data segment only, they would want to retain only 4G data card users. In related topic, any MTS user received portout code?
-
Prepaid users from Bangalore has also confirmed receiving of portout codes without asking. So far nor received codes for my postpaid 4G numbers from Kolkata & Delhi. Been with RCom for more than 14 years, from Mukesh Ambani days. Feels sad to see the service that was once the best in India (in earlier CDMA avatar) come to such an end. However, the timing of the events, right after the approval of the MTS merger, gives a nagging feeling that this is all part of a plan by Mukesh Bhai to get back his old company and in the process to remove the low ARPU customers, reduce the debt burden by converting to equity and get the best 4G spectrum at throwaway prices. At Guwahati, for last 5 months, my RCom 4G SIM latches to Aircel 2G/3G network, even though RCom signals are available. So same arrangement may continue. But the continuing of Aircel itself is questionable. The real problem is, most so called dual 4G phones are actually Active 4G +Active 2G only. I have RN3 and it is Active 4G + Active 3G. There can be other handsets also having similar feature. But they are limited only. Most people have Jio in one slot and it would not work without 4G. So for them, unless they change handsets, even with 3G RCom is of no use.
-
1. Gujarat 2. UP E Next which circle?
-
RCom is going to shut down MTS as soon as possible to convert the spectrum to 4G. But unless they introduce VoLTE, only data will work on 4G. Without 2G/3G to fall back, there will be no voice at all. RCom has already indicated that they will concentrate on 4G dongle market. Majority of MTS users are also dongle users. As per the earlier RCom CDMA to LTE conversion experience, it would be very poorly handled and they would switch off the CDMA towers suddenly without giving much time to the customers. So any important number should be immediately ported.
-
My 2 cents. Reliance Communications (Rcom) and Reliance Telecom (RTL) are 2 separate legal entities. RTL existed in GSM business, mainly in East & North East, even when Reliance CDMA ws not even thought off. Even after switch to ADAG group, RCom and RTL remained separate. Many of the 2G licenses are owned by RTL and are going to expire soon. Consumer Voice will continue, though 2G may not. In related news, MTS merger has already been approved by DoT so RCom will have more spectrum for 4G Band 5. It is possible that RCom may also go full LTE with VoLTE.
-
For last 4 months, in Guwahati, my RCom 4G SIM catches only Aircel towers on roaming even though RCom 4G & 3G signals are available. But for local person, RCom SIM catches RCom network. @me_saketcan you confirm whether even local persons are not getting rCom networks

jio Two Plans on JIO
commonman replied to Sachil Sawhney's topic in Reliance Jio 4G LTE (Prepaid & Postpaid)
Would the earlier plan not get forfeited in case of force activation?
